Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

Happy Mom2...... your ticker is less than 8 months!!:banana::banana:

This will be our third year in a row going the week after Thanksgiving. The first year we got a room off PIN but passed on it for the FD. Last year we also got the FD (no PIN offer). This year I would rather the room off PIN to stay at a WL.

Everyone with the PIN's for November 2012, did you just get them? Did they come in the mail or email? I have called WDW and to no surprise there is nothing attached to our account.
I received a 30% pin in my Email...now we're greedily hoping for free dining.
We have 3 rooms and 11 people...and with the way we shop for the grandkids, every $ helps!!!:lmao:

All this leads me to a question: When can people staying off-site make ADRs? Is it 90 days? If so, is it hard to get the ADRs you want? That would be my main reason for not wanting to stay offsite.

Everyone can make ADRs 180 days in advance, but staying onsite does give you a small advantage.

From the DIS:

Dining Reservations can be made at all of the Disney World Table Service Restaurants 180 days in advance. Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort can make all of their dining reservations for the length of their stay (up to 10 days in advance) at 180 days from their arrival date

I'm already so tired of waiting for November I'm tempted to plan a mini trip just to make the time go faster! :rotfl2:

I'm with you! I was looking around this morning to figure out if I could reasonably fit in a Disneyland trip because I need something new to plan.

I can't believe it's not even time to book airfare yet!

When will you all start booking airfare? I am curious because I tend to wait till closer to time for better deals...just wondering what y'alls strategy will be!

We always fly Southwest, and I want the first non-stop in and the last nonstop out. I'll be booking as soon as the flights are open, and then watching for sales. We'll be using points, so the flight credits are pretty easy to manage.

I know the prices are better later, but I don't want to miss those flights, so I'm always an early booker.

So I looked at offsite rental houses last night, and just couldn't get excited about them. If they offer FD, we'll stay at POFQ or POR (still haven't made reservations). If they don't, I may consider the Swan. I need to price there tonight.

I book mine via Southwest the day the flight is released. It seems that alot of people from my area go that week and the plane tends to fill up fast. If I could just convince myself to drive (12 hours), I could save $1,300!

me and the kids were just talking about some friends of ours who are going next year--they are driving....I asked them if they would like to drive over there now that they are older...of course they all said no!!! We look at the flight as a fun part of vacation!! I am 4-5 hours west of you...so it's a miiiiighty long drive for us!!!! Over there would be trying-but the drive back would be sooo boring and pointless! :rotfl:

Our drive is 11 hours, and it's not that bad. We drive 8 hours the 1st day, stay at a hotel. The next day we wake up, grab breakfast, and are at the parks by 10:30. We drove straight back on the way home. The kids watched 5 Disney movies in a row. We stopped only for gas and the potty. We had plenty of snacks and went through the drive through once. I won't lie - it was a hard drive. We got home at 7:00. I called my mom to let her know we had made it home safely, then went to bed. We were all in bed and sleeping by 7:30! We were exhausted... from the week, and the drive. We were going to stop, but DH just wanted to get home and sleep in our own bed.

I know!!!! :dance3: :cool1: :yay: I'm so excited... I'll be making ADRs soon!!

I'm watching flights out of 2 different airports, 2 different airlines. My hubby insists on a nonstop flight because he doesn't care for flying. The airport I want to use doesn't have any nonstop flights listed after the beginning of August, but I'm hoping they'll have them back in the fall. Otherwise I'll have to fly Delta out of Detroit, and that's a long drive.

I finally got a 30% off PIN today unfortunately it was for stays through 8/14/12. Here's to hoping we get one for November......

I have done the drive..we did it 3 times as a kid and we HATED it! Course, back then, there were no movies to be watched in the car! And for us, there is no way we could make it straight through without stopping for the night somewhere-so, we are looking at 2 full days of driving each way--it would eat 4 days out of our trip....unless it's the absolute, only way, I ain't doing it!:rotfl:
If we fly Cont./United now, we can do nonstop-but most of the Southwest options are at least one stop...hate that...and the difference price wise has only been the luggage fee-so, it's not monumental enough for us to switch-plus all our flier miles are thru Cont.,so we stick with it!

TOTALLY off topic here, but are any of y'all dealing with ants in your flower beds as bad as we are? I mean, they are so infested in all the beds right now, you can't even weed them! You pull a couple of weeds and a thousands ants are everywhere! I thought it was the rain, but I am wondering if they are imbedded in there from last summer when it was so stinkin' hot! Any experts here?

Growing up, we went every year and always drove. It did not seem to bother me then but I was in the backseat as the kid bothering my dad while he was driving. I am not too hip on being the dad in the front seat while my two girls are driving me nuts! It will come down to discounts and whether we want to stay at WL or POFQ for us in deciding whether to drive vs fly. Either way, I am praying for a PIN or FD for that week!

My Mom really prefers we drive this trip, I prefer we fly, my 4 years old prefers we fly. We'll be driving I'm sure. :thumbsup2 I'm all about keeping the peace. It will take us two days to get there (about 17 hours of driving)but we have 2 weeks for the trip so its fine. Just not what I want.

:wave2: Oh...Hello!

I just have a question and not sure where to ask....if anyone has any input/feedback I would be very grateful to hear your thoughts! (Yes You! :goodvibes)

So, right now we are booked POR from 11/25 - 12/2....No discounts or anything...juss reg old rack rates.....

We are considering making the switch to 11/11 - 11/18

Now....I need you and your crystal ball to suggest which dates, historically? would offer the best chance at Free Dining?!?!? :cool1:

Also, is the 11/11 time frame what they call "Jersey Week" ??

Any thoughts here.....Hope you all have a MAGICAL time during your visits!

Jersey Week will be the week before, from 11/4 to 11/12, so you're good if you're hoping to miss it.
