Okay, will Ya'll walk me through the photopass please? This is one thing I have never done. Don't know why, just haven't. :confused3 Once I purchase it what happens? What do they send and is it going to be a problem this far out? I have always felt that my own pictures were enough. But I have been looking into this lately. And now with the discount I think I am ready to take a chance on it. ::yes::

I am very confused. :confused3 If you don't mind, where generally do you live? :goodvibes You've made me very curious.

:lmao: I goofed... I'm 27 away from DL, not 72! You must have thought I was crazy!! :lmao: Oh! and I'm in south Louisiana. ;)

Just hopping on to say hello and to get on board, even though it appears I am way late! Bringing our son for his very first trip to see his hero Buzz Lightyear. He will turn 3 the last day of our trip. Hoping to snag free dining! Nov 15-23 staying at ASMo for my little Toy Story addict!

Hi! Welcome! :grouphug: You're not late, we're just really early! ;) We took DS to WDW for the first time right before he turned 3. Buzz was his favorite, and it was his mission to meet Buzz. The morning we went to Hollywood Studios, we went straight to TSM (we were in the first 10 people to ride), then got in the line to meet Buzz and Woody. We were the 1st in line and we had a 45 minute wait, but it was worth every second. When we got to go in, there were lots of photo ops in the queue, then DD and DS got to help open the "closet" door where Buzz and Woody were. The meet and greet room was set up like Andy's room. The look on DS's face when he saw Buzz was worth every penny of that trip. It's something I'll never forget. DS grabbed Buzz's finger and never let go. Since we were the first ones we got to spend about 10 - 12 minutes with Buzz and Woody. DH took pictures and so did the photo pass photographer. TWe ended up using one of DS and Buzz for DS's birthday party invitations the next month! Woody was great too, and really interacted with DD and DS, but for DS it was all about Buzz! I hope your trip is a magical as ours was!! :goodvibes

Hi All,

Our last 2 family trips were in the second weeks of Nov 2008 and 2010. We enjoyed the Christmas decorations but in Oct 2011 I went with my sister and some friends. We really enjoyed the Halloween decorations and the Halloween Party (more so than the Christmas Party). I promised the kids I would take them to the Halloween Party in 2012. I'd like free dining as kids turning 10 and they won't eat $52 worth of food a day. I am debating between end of Oct and 11/1/-11/9. I know the Halloween Party is held for the last time on 11/1 or 11/2 but not sure when they remove the Halloween decorations. Jersey Week doesn't usually faze me but this year I am more concerned because of the timing of Veteran's Day. Also, I don't want to hit the black out date for free dining (if they do free dining). Any suggestions for end f Oct vs. first week of November? thanks for any and all suggestions!! Can't wait for the trip!!

Welcome! :grouphug: I don't have any suggestions as I've never been either of those weeks, but I'm sure some others on here will be able to help you.

I live in Houston, Texas.

I really thought we were about in the middle, but the drive to the West is a lot longer than the drive to the East!

:lmao: I goofed... I'm 27 away from DL, not 72! You must have thought I was crazy!! :lmao:

YAY! Thanks for sharing but im gonna wait a few weeks to order our....or should I do it now? I wonde how long the offer is available:confused3

I don't know. I was going to order mine last night, but I think I got a better deal in 2010. I only paid $75 for mine. I thought the pre-order price was always $99, but I could be totally wrong. Anyone know for sure? :confused3

Sorry to be MIA lately. The holidays caught up to me and now I'm preparing for my spring semester.

Nothing new to report with the exception of some DVC talk here. DH's coworker is a DVC owner and it has really had us thinking and researching.

I did get some pretty sweet clearanced Disney Christmas goodies while hitting the post holiday sales and we totally told the kids for the sole purpose of bringing back our cute countdown.

Oooooo... DVC!! I really want to buy in, but DH isn't too keen on the idea. I'm hoping to "fit in" a DVC tour while we are there this year. I know DMIL would be on bored, and I'm hoping she can help me talk DH into it. :rolleyes1

We did photopass when we went in 2010 for the first time. I didn't tell DH about it, I just did it. When I asked last night about it, he said yes, definitely! Basically, you purchase it now, and receive a credit. I think you can purchase it up to a year in advance (maybe longer). When photopass photographers take your picture, they will give you a card with a number on it. Don't lose this or you can't get your pictures. We took a picture of the card numbers with our phones for safe keeping. We also got a new card each day and left the old one in our room for safe keeping. When you get home, you have 30 days (maybe 60 days?) to enter your photopass numbers, view your pictures, edit the pictures, and place your order. Don't wait too long or your pictures won't be available anymore. You will receive a CD (or CDs) with all your pictures, plus a few extras. We received some pictures of different characters. They also give you a copyright release so you can have any of them printed. No matter how many pictures you take (15 or 500), you don't pay any extra for your photopass! Somewhere on the disboards I've seen a list of places in all the parks to find photopass photographers.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

I haven't worked on anything for Disney yet. We took down all our Christmas decorations yesterday, and I clean our DD and DS's rooms this morning. Now I'm off to decorate for Mardi Gras!!! DH is putting the Mardi Gras lights on our tree now!

And on another happy note, the Saints won last night!! All is right in South Louisiana today! :cheer2: Now we are just waiting on a win from LSU tomorrow night! :cheer2:

I always felt that way, too, but now we have all of these pictures with the whole family in them, instead of always missing the family photographer. (Which always seemed to be me!)

I LOVE PHOTOPASS!!! I was always the picture taker for everything and I found myself taking pictures all of the time and never "enjoying" the moment. Photopass changed the bigger moments for me. Also, every time we went we were with family and friends so we split the pass. But, this November it will really just be us....so I will need to purchase it. I think the small print under that recent deal says it never expires and they will refund your $$ if you end up not needing it.

So, I had a heart stopping morning. I was talking with one of the local teachers at church and she said for sure she thought they would take the week of Thanksgiving away from us this year...that everyone hated it! But, I think she is talking from a teachers perspective. I think teachers would rather have the longer Christmas break, but parents are kind of ready to send the kids back after the first of the year.

I am really going to be anxious till I see that calendar!!!

You only need your MCMCP ticket to get into the park, and if they do it the same as previous years, you can actually get in as early as 4pm with your MVMCP ticket!

I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Maybe do some resort hopping to look at Christmas decorations.

Thank you! Never thought about looking at the Christmas decorations...I may add that to the list. Last time, I wanted to see the lobby of Kidani, but never made it there! :confused3 We were only over at Jambo! :rolleyes1

We stayed at ASMo for our DS's 5th birthday. He still tells people that he stayed behind Buzz Lightyears bum! We took the elevator up turned right & there was his bum everyday! I think you can request the Toy Story section, no guarantees, but it never hurts to ask. I think they are in the preferred room catagory.

YAY! Thanks for sharing but im gonna wait a few weeks to order our....or should I do it now? I wonde how long the offer is available:confused3

Not sure how long the offier is available. It never expires. I figured I would just do it now & check it off of the list!

I thought I got mine for about $75 in 2010 also, but I went ahead & did it anyway. I checked retailmenot & a few other coupon/promo code sites & didn't really see anything that would have given me the extra discount like in 2010.

Oooooo... DVC!! I really want to buy in, but DH isn't too keen on the idea. I'm hoping to "fit in" a DVC tour while we are there this year. I know DMIL would be on bored, and I'm hoping she can help me talk DH into it. :rolleyes1

I would love to own DVC, but it isn't really possible right now. Maybe if we hit the Powerball?? I think you have to play it first to win it, right??? :lmao:

There are 60 total days broken up in 30 day segments. I think this is the way it works----The first segment is from the first day you have a picture taken. You have 30 days to claim your photos online. The second 30 days is from when you claim to when you submit your order. This will be our 3rd time. Since it is just the 3 of us, it is a great way to have us all in the picture. They take some awesome photos! We shared the first time, great discount in 2010 and I hope to share with family going in October this time. The dates just have to work out. Can you believe they just started planning their trip???? :rotfl::confused3:sad2:

I bought the photopass in 2010 and split it with my brother it was $99 so each paid $45! You can put as many pics on it as you want to!

Me too!

OH NO!!! :surfweb: me too!

Got my new suitcase!!! It is a pink hardsided spinner! :yay: Great price at Ross. My mom is going on a cruise next year. It will work really well for her since she has some issues getting around.

I am so excited that it is pink! All of our others are black and 1 red one. It is a girlie suitcase! :cutie:

My planning frenzy has officially begun. I just got a pin code in my inbox that will cover the last part of my trip, and it turns out to be 30% off of any resort level.

Too. Many. Options.

I'll be putting together spreadsheets late into the night.

:cool1: :cool1: That's awesome! I'm praying I get a PIN code. :goodvibes

Thank you! Never thought about looking at the Christmas decorations...I may add that to the list.

The gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian is well the time to go see it. I had seen it for years on Christmas specials so I just had to see it in person.

I received another email from TP. I haven't checked it out, but at a quick glance it looks like the crowd levels have gone up some for the week before and after Thanksgiving.

Question for those who received PIN codes: Did you already have reservations when you received the code? Since I'm really not sure when we are going or where we are going to stay, I'm thinking of canceling my ressies to see if ups my chances of getting a code.

Hope everyone has a great week!

I don't think it matters if you have an existing reservation, because I've gotten pin codes before while I had a reservation. This time around, I didn't happen to have a reservation with Disney.

I can tell you that I played around on the website on Friday while logged in, and saved a few offers for some Magic Kingdom area deluxe resorts. Then I left the site without booking anything. The PIN code I got said something like "We're glad you're considering a stay at the Wilderness Lodge" and included some pictures of the resort and a PIN code, but the PIN code was available for all resort levels.

There seems to be some other offers attached to this PIN code. I can book the dining plan with only a one day ticket requirement. I had two different cast members check this for me because it was so weird.

We need suitcases SO bad! I wanted to get everyone one for Christmas and never found good deals. I am going to be watching for them, maybe for their birthdays this year.
