I changed my dates too lol we are going Nov 25th-Dec 2nd our ADR's are available May 29th. June is too far lol

That's what I thought too, which is why I rechecked his Disney math. I'm glad I did b/c I would have been a happy woman if I had used his and tried to make ADR's in June and most of the stuff I wanted was gone.

I am concrned about a few days too

Me too!! I might not be as nervous once I subscribe to TP and can find out more about what the numbers mean. Plus I really need to know if my plan for DHS works out with going to MVMCP. Although if it doesn't, we can just plan on going to AK that day since it closes so early.

Here is our tentative schedule. ANY feedback would be so helpful because I have no idea why this doesnt make sense!

Sunday Nov 25th~arrive, DTD, Chef Mickey for dinner
Monday Nov 26th~Animal Kingdom TH for breakfast, T-Rex for dinner
Tuesday Nov 27th~Epcot, Princess dinner?
Wednesday Nov 28th~Golf Magic Kingdom, MVMCP,CP for dinner OR new BBCastle
Thursday Nov 29th~Water Park Cape May Cafe or Ohana
Friday Nov 30th~Magic Kingdom Crystal Palace or 1900 PF
Saturday Dec 1st~Disney Hollywood Studios, 50's PT Cafe
Sunday Dec 2nd~DTD, Leave

*nights MVMCP should be held

I'm torn between going to MVMCP on 11/27 and 11/28. I can think of good reasons for each day. For 11/27, it will be the first full day of our trip and be more rested in order to stay up later. For 11/28, we might be more willing to take an afternoon nap since we have already had one full day in the parks. Then there is the new Be Our Guest restaurant. We were planning on eating at 'Ohana before going to MVMCP, but if BOG is open then I would rather eat in the park. I had thought about eating at CRT, but I am going to do a first available breakfast ADR to see the park as empty as possible. Hmmm, maybe we could do CRT that morning, do some stuff at the MK, head back to the cabins for a nap and then go back for MVMCP.

Then again, since 11/27 is the first full day we're there and we will be more rested, maybe it makes sense (if it has AM EMH) to go to DHS that day. Then on 11/28 have the first available ADR at CRT, MK in the morning, afternoon nap until dinner, and then MVMCP until they are pushing us out of the MK. Curse you Disney more making these choices so hard!!

You are much further along in your planning than I am!
I have been going back and forth in my head between the week before Thanksgiving and the week after Thanksgiving for the same reasons you gave. Here's what I've come up with...

You mentioned the FD. I know for sure that FD was offered Veteran's weekend this year. Veteran's Day was the 11th (Friday). My friend arrived on the 13th, and she had free dining. I know because I actually booked it for her. The last day it was offered was the 13th or 14th (don't remember), but I do remember she barely made the cut off. Since she checked in when they were offering it, she got it for her whole trip.

I've been really concerned about the marathon being moved to Veteran's Day weekend. So concerned that I started emailing all of the sites that have crowd calendars... both free and those I subscribe to. So far, they have all said the same thing...the marathon should not affect the week itself. Most of the runners will leave on Sunday or Monday. I'm still waiting to hear back to TP and TGM.

Jersey week people will all be going home that Monday. I researched some NJ school system calendars and found they have school on Veteran's Day so they will be leaving by Saturday or Sunday at the latest.

I say all that to say, I think it will probably be more crowded normal Veteran's weekend, but I think the rest of the week will be nice.

As for the week after Thanksgiving... that's when we went last year. It was magical. If you or your mother have never seen the decorations, I would highly recommend it. I hear people complain that the decorations aren't near a good as they used to be, but I had nothing to compare it to. I loved it all!! The crowds were low, but again, I had nothing to compare it to! We leave the day the Pop Warner crowds were arriving. Oh! and we had FD for that week.

We finally decided on the week before Thanksgiving for one reason... I emailed DD's teacher and asked her opinion. She said as far as school goes, it would be better for her to miss the week before Thanksgiving. Another teacher said they never plan much the week before Thanksgiving because there is always one kid in every class who is out that week for a Disney vacation! :goodvibes Guess it will be my child next year!!!

Whichever week you choose, I am sure you will have a great time!! :wizard:
I would probably change to the week after Thanksgiving if it wasn't for food and wine. We really want to catch F&W. We are treating my parents this trip and they have never experienced it, so that is the only reason I am keeping it Nov 9-17th. We are going to do Epcot for F&W in the am on that Friday the 9th, and probably DHS that night. Then the Family Magic Tour at MK hopefully on Sat 10th, then probably leave MK by lunch when the crowds are getting bad. Probably hit the pool, resort hop and do dinner at Jiko and explore AKL (maybe do the firepit/storytime or the nightvision viewing of the animals). I know the parks will probably be a zoo on the Sat the 10th, especially MK that night, so we will just chill away from the parks that night, maybe even catch WISHES from TOWL. But the rest of the week is actually looking pretty good so far per Touringplans- 2s-5s. So the weekdays should be awesome, it is just that Saturday I am worried baout and we will work around it. We will hit F&W on Sunday am (closing day) for a few hours, we anticipate crowds of course, but will manage. I hear that the last Saturday was the most crowded, moreso than Sunday.

I am thinking most marathon folks will leave by Sunday or Monday. I have lots of friends that have done them before and typically will come in on Thursday/Friday and leave Sunday/Monday. So only the weekend will really be impacted. I hope, right! :confused3:rotfl:

What is another good place to eat in Epcot? I am stuck. We have the water park and more option. Not sure the weather but we need a rest day lol
Where to eat for dinner on the water park day? UGH! I had the perfect schedule but now I dont because of the crowd predictor. My other schedule would have been changed too because of the 8's and 9's I saw on there
I will put the crowd calendar that I have. I will put the parks in this order so maybe you can help me lol
*nights MVMCP should be held
For Epcot dining, we LOVE Via Napoli- great pizzas! I also love Chefs de France too. We are trying GG this November for the first time. Le Cellier is always good too of course. La Hacienda wasn't bad and you can try and time it for like a 8:15 or 8:30pm time to see Illuminations if you get a decent table.

For water park day, choosing a resort dining option is good. We love Ohana for dinner, it is a must each trip. Cali Grill is good too if you want something really nice. Whispering Canyon Cafe is fun with kids at WL. Of course there is the character dinner buffet at GF at 1900 Park Fare too. You would have a reason to see the Gingerbread house there if it is up and running by then too.

As for planning......I always do my planning this way, but it really will have to wait until park hours are released in May, since hte park hours and EMHs really dictate what park we do. I first map out how much time I want to spend in each park. We ALWAYS buy hoppers. So I map out how many mornings and how many nights I want in each park, keeping in mind any fireworks or evening shows I want to see. Usually at least 2 mornings and 2 nights each at MK and Epcot. We usually spend a 3/4 day at AK (like from 8am-3pm), then at least one morning and one night at DHS. We add in more if we are staying longer. Once I do that, I also build in what extra events I want, like MVMCP, BBB, PIrates League, private cruises, dessert party etc. since some of those are only offered on certain dates. Then once hours are released, I like to map it out.

We are early risers and like doing RD, so we like to take advantage of morning EMH if we can, so I try and map out which parks have AM EMH and put those in. We don't ever stay in one park the whole day, we always arrive at RD, stay til 1-2pm, then break in the room for 2 hours, then head back out until closing to another park. I also build in a half day for DTD and swimming time. We'd like to do a half day at a waterpark, weather permitting too. I try and avoid the parks with evening EMH at night unless for some crazy reason we are going to actually do evening EMH (rare for us). Then I add in my dining from there, based on which park we are at which day.

Im still on the fence about the hoppers. My DH wants them after our last trip. I like not being tied to a certain park all day lol
We LOVE hoppers and always get them. Being able to hop to another park when one gets crowded is so nice. Plus you can take advantage of morning EMH park, then hop somewhere else for the afternoon/evening once the EMH park gets crowded. Just nice to have the option, we never stay in one park all day, we always hop.

I can't wait until they start taking ADR's for the new Beauty and the Beast castle. :yay::yay::yay:

I don't think I even care what they will be serving. I just want to see it. My DD and I watched Beauty and the Beast last night. :goodvibes
Me too! I am hoping to book dinner at Be Our Guest!!!!

We love the hoppers too!! No matter how much planning you do, once you actually get there things can always change.

This is the first trip that I am doing so much planning on. Our last trip I did make a like 600-700 page binder, but I only made a coupld ADR's. Since I didn't have a bunch of ADR's we didn't really plan what day we were going to which park. My DH and I would sit on our balcony at the WL each night and figure out where we wanted to go the next day. The binder I had, had park maps, ride info and every menu for every place that I thought we would want to eat at. We are going to be at WDW for 6 days. Sunday night, I plan on staying nearby so we can be checking in no later than 10 AM. I am planning on 2 full days at the MK and Epcot, 1 day at the AK and 1/2 a day at DHS with coming back at night to check out the lights. I'm not putting the days on a certian day of the week. I'm just planning the ADR's like this. MK day 1...MK day 2... This way I can move them where I want them to go. This way when then hours come out, it will hopefully be easier to plug them in to the days that I want them.

We haven't booked yet, but we're hoping to arrive Nov. 24th and stay at POFQ.:cool1:

YAY!

I considered Tues 11/27 for our MVMCP but I am on the fence with Tues or Wed. If its Tues, my grandparents can go(they leave and go home on wed) so its still up in the air....I move my days around til they click to me. When they click I will know it.

I swear, I am just so frustrated right now!!:headache::mad: If it weren't a WDW trip I was talking about, I would just throw my hands up and say, "you know what, let's just forget about it."

When my DH got home, I was talking to him in our room and told him about the trip change. I can vaguely remember my fil saying that from now on, no one got time off in November/December, but I thought he was joking. Afterall, I have told all the adults in my DH's family that we are going to WDW and what the dates were. Well as soon as I told the DH, he said, "well you go right ahead and plan for that. I just don't think it will fly with mom." GRRRRR I keep being told that one of the best benefits of him "being self employeed" is that he can take off when he wants, but if they won't let him, then that's not a benefit. Plus if we can't go then, we can't go until after New Year 2013, b/c of kids school schedules, kids football, and my school schedule. Plus my mil won't talk to my fil about it at all right now. My fil did something to his foot and it has been causing him great pain for 2 weeks. He went to the doctor today and they wouldn't give him some injection the in laws wanted them to b/c "it's only been 2 weeks. An injection is too extreme for that short period of time. Come back in 2 to 4 weeks and if your still in pain, we'll inject it then." They did x-rays and it's not broken. Now I just don't even feel like doing any planning b/c it may all be for nothing if they won't let my DH have the time off. Yes the move in dates would have us there for my birthday, but then that's the 2nd to last week in a grading period. If we go as it's planned now, it's the first week in a grading period. I'm just so annoyed and frustrated!!:headache:

WOW!! Y'all have been busy today!! I've had a lot of catching up to do!! Bear with me as I respond to some things.

I'm now trying to balance morning and evening EMH's with park days. Thankgoodness for park hoppers. :thumbsup2 With 21 family members going there is no way we will tour together. But meeting up at certain rides is mandatory. :rotfl: With our wide range of ages different family groups are going to want to spent extra time in different places. The next big hurdle is a few meals together. Or at least in groups of togetherness.

Are you trying to go for EMH or avoid them?

Im still on the fence about the hoppers. My DH wants them after our last trip. I like not being tied to a certain park all day lol

With 21 people, I would definitely want park hoppers. They would provide so much flexibility. I think they would be worth the cost.

I don't think anyone here is going to consider you certifiable. Now the real world......thats another story. :lmao::rotfl2:

I just told DH what I wanted to do, and he's fine with it. So it's official... we are either going the week before Thanksgiving or the week after Thanksgiving. I'm planning both, and we'll choose later! :rotfl2: With everyone changing from the week before to the week after, I'm thinking the week before won't be crowded at all! :rolleyes1 I really want to go the week before Thanksgiving, but whether or not we get a code or free dining may determine what we do. :goodvibes

We are not morning people. Although I do love the quietness of being up really early when no one else it up. I'm wondering now, if I should plan on doing DHS on the day it has morning EMH. I'm just worried about TSM.

Last year, we had an early breakfast 8am at Hollywood & Vine on a non EMH day. The restaurant was not crowded at all, and we were done in plenty of time before the park opened. We were able to go the a different rope so when they left everyone in the park, we were ahead of them. I got fast passes and we rode TSM right away! It worked out perfect! By the time we finished the ride, there was an hour wait. :scared1:

I got on in the mail for 30% off room rates. Since I don't think that we will be able to get free dining, I went ahead and booked. We are going to stay at POFQ. I am so excited!!!!!! We haven't stayed at Port Orleanes before, so it will be exciting.

:woohoo: for your code!! I'm crossing my fingers we get one! :goodvibes

Well it's official. I changed the dates of our trip. I moved it to November 26 - December 2. Now I just need to start the heavy planning.

The planning is the fun part!! ;)

Oh that is only 1 of many changes. I'm sure I'll miss a few, but the changes that I remember are

1. January 8 - 14 @ WL /w DlxDDP (to be there for my bday and as a bonus John's,youngest DS, bday)
2. November 13 - 18 @ WL /w DlxDDP (changed for Joey's, oldest DS, 15th bday and to have more time to save for)
3. December 2 - 8 @ WL /w DlxDDP (dates changed b/c I wanted to see more Christmas stuff)
4. January 8 - 14 @ WL /w DlxDDP (dates changed to be there for my bday and as a bonus John's bday and to get to go sooner)
5. November 12 - 17@ WL /w DlxDDP (dates changed to be able to save up more)
6. May 28 - June 2 @ WL /w DlxDDP (dates moved b/c I didn't want to wait until November to go)
7. November 12 - 17 @ WL /w DlxDDP (dates changed to be able to save up more, be at WDW for Joey's 15th bday, and see Christmas decorations)
8. November 12 - 17 @FWC (b/c it's close to my favorite the WL)
9. November 12 - 17 @ POFQ (b/c I wanted one of the new royal rooms)
10. November 12 - 17 @ CBR (b/c I showed the DSs the new royal rooms and they hated them but love PotC)
11. November 12 - 17 @ AoA (b/c I like the idea of the new resort)
12. November 12 - 17 @FWC (b/c DH likes the idea of the cabin)
13. November 26 - December 2 @ FWC (changed b/c of DS's school schedule)
I'm sure I have missed some, but my head is all dizzy thinking of all the changes this trip has gone through.

I don't feel so bad that I can't make up my mind!! Seems I'm in good company!! :rotfl:

I know the parks will probably be a zoo on the Sat the 10th, especially MK that night, so we will just chill away from the parks that night, maybe even catch WISHES from TOWL. Yes we have been busy today. I know I have been able to, since I am not in school right now.

I thought about doing that, but the problem is that it's a character breakfast and it's the only one that take ADR's for breakfast. The characters that they have my youngest DS hates, and I could see him having a little meltdown over them being there. (My youngest is the one with mild ASD.)

The planning is the fun part!! ;)

Yes it is!! Although actually being there isn't bad either. ;)

I don't feel so bad that I can't make up my mind!! Seems I'm in good company!! :rotfl:

I swear, I think one of the reasons the CMs are so nice to me, is they can see how many changes I've made and they're afraid I'm crazy. :lmao:

WOW!! I thought my planner was big!!

It had a ton of info in it. We went in October, so it had stuff on F&W and all the Halloween stuff. Probably most of it was menus and maps. I thought about making another one, but it was kind of a pain to lug around (we didn't take it to the parks, but we did have to fly with it). Plus there are so man apps I can get for my iPhone that do the same and aren't as heavy.

That stinks. :sad2: Maybe give it a day or two then talk to your DH and MIL again. I hope it works out. :goodvibes Hang in there! ;)

Well not unless my fil's foot starts feeling better. She won't even bring it up to him, until he's feeling better. I swear, I was so happy when we got the dates "finalized". Then my DH and mil took a blow to my Mickey baloon. It's a good thing the DSs don't know about this trip.

I thought I would share this here, since I don't know if y'all are reading the thread on the DIS about Be Our Guest.

The arcticle leads me to believe that it will be open, along with Phase 1 of the expansion summer of 2012.

Iv been reading this. I am planning on trying to get a ressie. I will 'plan' on 1900 PF or CP but I really want Be Our Guest! :surfweb: I WILL gt a ressie lol

So I have been reading alot on the Budget board. One of the threads that I am following talks about everyones ideas to save money for their trip. I am in the saving mood now! SInce its going to be a new year, I am starting things off right~ Budgeting, coupons and saving oh yea diet too lol. I used to deal with coupons and I built up quit a stockpile but its dwindling down. I dont mean going all EXTREME COUPONING on myself lol but to save a few dollars each week to put in my change jar. I am also switching to cash so the extra goes in the jar.

What is everyone else doing to save money?

If we chit chatted enough for 100 pages before the new year......Iwonder how many we will have by the time we REALLY start to plan lol!!!

I want to see pics of journals/binders/notebooks-whatever you plan in!

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

I can't seem to wrap my mind multiquoting this morning. :rotfl2:

Come back in 2 to 4 weeks and if your still in pain, we'll inject it then." They did x-rays and it's not broken. Now I just don't even feel like doing any planning b/c it may all be for nothing if they won't let my DH have the time off. Yes the move in dates would have us there for my birthday, but then that's the 2nd to last week in a grading period. If we go as it's planned now, it's the first week in a grading period. I'm just so annoyed and frustrated!!:headache:

:grouphug: I know we all have our fingers crossed for you. I'm sure things will work though.

WOW!! Y'all have been busy today!! I've had a lot of catching up to do!! Bear with me as I respond to some things.

This is how I feel right now. :rotfl:

Are you trying to go for EMH or avoid them?

Trying to go for some of them. :thumbsup2

:goodvibes

So.....lets see if I have this straight. Aww...... never mind. :rotfl2:

Last year, we had an early breakfast 8am at Hollywood & Vine on a non EMH day. The restaurant was not crowded at all, and we were done in plenty of time before the park opened. We were able to go the a different rope so when they left everyone in the park, we were ahead of them. I got fast passes and we rode TSM right away! It worked out perfect! By the time we finished the ride, there was an hour wait. :scared1:

What a great thing to experience.

:woohoo: for your code!! I'm crossing my fingers we get one! :goodvibes

Me too. :goodvibes

I don't feel so bad that I can't make up my mind!! Seems I'm in good company!! :rotfl:

WOW!! I thought my planner was big!!

Mine to

:cool1:

I've ready several blogs that say Tuesdays are less crowded, but shhh! don't tell anyone! :rolleyes1

I usually try to pick a Tuesday. And like anythig else the crowds tend to bottle neck in places and then get really light in others.

I thought I would share this here, since I don't know if y'all are reading the thread on the DIS about Be Our Guest.

The arcticle leads me to believe that it will be open, along with Phase 1 of the expansion summer of 2012.

http://d23.disney.go.com/news/2011/12/zooming-into-2012/

I have been following this. I just hope it is open when we all go. I bet we are gonna have to sit on the phones to get a ressie though. But we can do it. :thumbsup2

Pretty much what you are doing. I enjoy couponing. Its like the thrill of the hunt. :rotfl:

If we chit chatted enough for 100 pages before the new year......Iwonder how many we will have by the time we REALLY start to plan lol!!!

We will probably have a couple of new threads under our belts by then. :goodvibes

I want to see pics of journals/binders/notebooks-whatever you plan in!

I keep saying I am going to take pictures.......It will go on the top of my to do list this weekend. :goodvibes

:headache: :sad2: :sad1: Im sorry! We are here for you if you want to talk. Im sure everything will work out in the end. It always does  I would still go ahead and plan. YOu never knw mabe he will have a change of heart :grouphug:

I have off today and we are supposed to be painting the basement so I can do daycare there again. Its taken so long to get this finished but a few weeks ago we had another leak:headache: a small one but why pain the basement just to fix it again? UGH! Anyway off to do :laundy: and housework....I will hop back on later because now I wanna go on the Tuesday night to MVMCP....and plan 2x in each park! I really want the PH. Maybe if we get FD we can do it :cloud9:

Has there been any discounts offered yet for Nov 2012??

I've been so busy with work these past 6 months, I never have time to check out the DIS like I used to. I used to be so informed with every little change Disney made, now I feel like a newbie all over again :upsidedow

Not to mention, I have no clue what is going on with the Fantasyland expansion. Any kind souls care to enlighten me on what/if anything we should expect to see done by Nov 2012?

Thanks everyone

Hi!! :goodvibes
I think the free dining only goes to around March at this point. :confused3 Nothing for us November people. (except happy chatter.)

Parts of fantasyland should be open by Nov. That hopefully includes the Beauty and the Beast Castle, and the new resturant. I know some of the others on hear can give you more detailed info.

Happy planning!!

Wow, I've had a little disvacation with the holidays & you all have been chatting nonstop! :goodvibes

We have always had hoppers. I think we would be lost without them.QUOTE]

Yep, us too. Love not being tied to one park.

FONT]

Wow, that is huge! 2010 was the first time I put our info into my phone calendar. I still took my laminated paper copy (4x8) of the details. This year, I think it all goes on our phones!
