Just booked POR for 11/3 through 11/10 and can't wait :) We haven't been to WDW since 2007. Our son will be almost 9 when we go and is very excited. We've requested Alligator Bayou since the rustic decor appeals to me (DH and DS could care less where we stay, but I love to PLAN PLAN PLAN every detail).

I'm hoping for FD but our TA says it probably won't happen - I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway!

:welcome: I will add you to our list!

Hi everyone :)

You know, I've been thinking... Our original plan was to stay at the AoA in one of their Standard Rooms. But, as we all know, that section will not be ready in Nov 2012. The sections housing the Family Suites will all be ready, but not the Little Mermaid section. So we're currently booked at one of the AS resorts. What are the odds of Disney opening the Standard Rooms before or right around Thanksgiving 2012? It would certainly make fiscal sense since they will be able to house more guests during the LONG weekend. And being able to accommodate more means more $$ for them. And they can prepare themselves for the Christmas rush during the Thanksgiving period. Sort of like a test-run or soft opening. What do you guys think??

Soooo, a few days ago DH asked me if I ever considered a Disney cruise:eek: and I responded with "I can't swim" he said "doesn't matter, he knows how to swim and it wouldn't matter if he fell overboard, because he wouldn't survive. Maybe you should look into a land/sea cruise":worship:
I'll be the first to admit that I am afraid of going a cruise----Thank You, Titanic movie!:lmao:
I figured I would call the cruiseline and research prices and such and see what I found out. Well, it would cost about the same as a WDW vaca!
Price is 2847.00 for two adults and one child.
This would include: Two nights at French quarter
two day parkhoppers (which we would most likely cancel
the hoppers)
followed by the 3 day cruise to the Bahamas and
Castaway Cay (Disney's Island)
All meals onboard included and they have ALOT to do on board! Now, this doesn't include getting there...we would either drive or take the auto train again and if we did the train again then that would add another 1200.00 on:scared1:
So that is what I found out and now I just wait for him to say those magical words .....BOOK IT!

YAY! So exciting!
HOLY COW!
I cant believe this thread was started way back in May!!!! Well I am hopping on this train.
We are planning on somewhere around Nov.5/6/7 to Nov.14/15 POR.
Now this is a special trip for many reasons: My wife and I were married at Disney World 11-10-10 so it will be an anniversary trip for us. My sister just beat the pants of cancer so this will be a I Kicked Cancer's Butt trip for her as well as my wifes Aunt just kicked cancers butt as well!! Everyone else is going for the fun of it lol. All in all it will be 8-9 adults and 4 children. Cant wait for some Disney discount love for everybody and I cannot wait to visit my fav. Disney employee Lee the bartender at the Muddy River Pool Bar POR. LOL YAY!!!

:welcome: I will add you!

This morning my DH asked for me to show him the numbers! Woo-Hoo!

We stay in 2 rooms at the Pop. I'm hoping for FD sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We've always gone with extended family. This trip I believe it will just be the 5 of us. We're thinking about keeping it a secret and surprising the kids (13, 10, 8).

I'm so excited:yay:

:welcome: I will add you to our list!

Good morning!

I am starting the planning of a trip for Nov 3 - 11. So looking forward to it. It will be my 14 yo daughter and I, with *maybe* a surprise visit from my sister thrown in.

Would love to be added to the role call at the front of this thread, and I will keep checking in for discounts/promos etc.

Happy planning and happy holidays everyone!

:welcome: I will add you to our list!

Hi there!

We love going in early November - the weather is usually perfect for us.

We will be staying at Pop - it is my daughters favorite resort, and I have to say that I really like it too.

Happy belated (or early!) birthday! I will try to remember to send you birthday wishes closer to the date. :)

LA

Hi ladies!!! New to the boards! We are planning to go to Disney Nov 15-20. Staying at POR unless we decide to buy in DVC......If we don't buy DVC. Hoping for FD!!! When we went to disney is Oct there was NO specials :(

:welcome: I will add you to our list!

Hello everyone! I am hopping on board...we are deciding on room type at Beach Club in November. I can't wait to see if there is a deal. Was there one this year??? I have been going every year for the last three and still don't receive any Disney mail/pin codes. How do you all get those?

:welcome: I will add you!

The NJ teacher's convention is Nov 8 and 9 and Tuesday Nov 6 is election day, most districts will have off the entire week. We go every year during Jersey week and some years are worse than others but we usually leave on Friday before the last weekend of W&D. We were also there and ran the 5K for the W&D this past year. I love the IDEA of having the race at the end of the festival, but that being said, the crowds will be crazy. Assuming they will also have an afterparty it will make flights home on Sunday $$$.

I need to look into this because We arrive on Saturday and it may be too crowded ugh!

Just booked. Wilderness Lodge from Nov 7th thru the 13th.

We will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary, as well as a birthday, and we want to visit Food & Wine again, as well as do Fantasmic, and MVMCP!

We are going Thanksgiving week (17-24th)- Just called and booked our 2BR Villa at SSR:) Hoping our WL for a THV comes through. If not, we will try to switch resorts at the 7-month mark. So, I don't need a discount, but as a TA I will know of them and pass them along to you guys!

:welcome: I will add you to the list~!

WOOHOO just booked our trip!!! POR Nov 15-20!!!!!! Fingers crossed FD!!

Congrats! I will add you!

I know there were several of us interested in the new Be Our Guest restaurant at MK. I came across this link, and soooo hope it's true. :goodvibes I'm going to call Disney tomorrow to see if I can get some more information. I'll let y'all know what I find out. :dance3:

I will have to read this thanks!!!

Hi! Oh smileybug how I have missed you and your laughs you bring:) How have you been?
I think my recent trip traumatized me lol

I am so sorry that your trip was less than you had hoped for. But isn't that a great reason for ............ another trip!! :rotfl:

We have been good. Christmas was very hectic. But absolutely wonderful. Right now I just want to relax, get through New Years and then PLAN, PLAN, PLAN the upcoming trip. Can ya'll believe we are all under a year!! WooHoo!!

I checked out Touring plans, I was all set to change our GG to the 13th- 20th but predicted crowd levels were 9's and10's!!!!! Atleast the 10th-17th has crowds at 1-5. The only busy day is Saturday and we are avoiding parks that day. Anyway, they also predicted that the MVMCP is to be held on Sunday the 11th, Tuesday the 13th and 19th of that week. My hope was for the 18th so I have to switch a few things but thats ok cuz the 19th was a MK day anyway, we will go in the morning, come back and rest then go back in the evening for MVMCP! YAY!

Updated everyones names on the list. If I missed anyone, please quote this post and add your info so I can update it. I also added potential MVMCP dates according to TP.

I think that we have officially nailed down our dates. We are going the 10 -17th. I got a PIN code in the mail, so I'm going to call for availability this afternoon. I'm so excited!!!

Ohhh.. I'll have to check out TP. I didn't realize they had updated them for next year already. Our dates are still up in the air, and that may help me to decide.

Please let us know what Disney says about your PIN.

Well that stinks! Oh well! :headache:

Thinking about it, I would think WDW would want major construction to be done by Nov-Dec as they had it this year and 2 years in a row does detract somewhat from the park, plus Christmas is their busiest time of the year so when better to have new stuff

The construction was going on in Nov 2010 when we were there also, just not as extensive.

That has been my thoughts as well. They keep projecting it for "Fall 2012." To me fall is September, October and November. From looking at the construction pictures, it seems to be coming along nicely. Since Thanksgiving week is one of their busiest weeks of the year, surely Disney would want to take advantage of that! With that in mind, I would assume they would want to open some time prior to Thanksgiving week to test things out, assuring us Nov peeps the BOG restaurant will be open! :woohoo: Don't y'all just love my way of thinking!! ;)

What do y'all think? :confused3

Thanks!! I'm sorry it wasn't as magical as you deserved it to be. That cheerleader's parents are lucky it wasn't me. I would have told them they need to teach their daughter how to act in public and to have manners, especially if I didn't have any kids with me.

Well that just won't do. We NEED to know exactly when. Did you tell them they need to do better than "sometime next year", and they have until our 180 day out to figure it out. ;) Obviously, Disney doesn't understand how super serious (me included) some of us Disney fans take in making our WDW ADRs.

Jumpin on this thread! I just returned from a Mother/Daughter trip and now we are planning a big family gathering Nov. 2012!! We aren't positive on the dates yet, but looking at the 8-14th. I know we'll hit Veterans Day, but hoping that won't make it too bad...

:welcome: How big is your gathering going to be? I would love to do a big family trip with my DH's family. We did one to Galveston/Houston this last Spring Break and had a great time. The only problem with a WDW one, is that my bil doesn't really like to plan too far in advance. I would love for them to go with us, but I just don't see it happening. My nephew has never been to WDW and I just really really want him to go. He was supposed to have gone for the day while he and my sil were visiting her family in FL, but her brother that promised to take them backed out at the last minute. It just broke my heart that he was that close (I think they were in Tampa Bay) and he didn't get to go.
