I finally got the pics of the pig taken. The allergies have been driving me nuts lately. John Michael (our youngest DS) dropped the pig on one of his ears and that is why there is so much tape on one of them. I didn't have any super glue, so JM suggested the tape.

@ mommyof3princess27 - Congratulations on the weight loss. I started trying to loose this week. It's been rough, and so far the scale hasn't moved. I may join Weight Watcher or something... not sure yet. :confused3

@ letthewookiewin - Love the piggy bank!!

Y'all gave me an idea. Every morning was a struggle with my kids, and I was late for work all the time. About six weeks ago I told them that every morning they are good, they get one star; but if we are late because they didn't want to get up or if they misbehave in the morning, they would get a star taken away. (If it's my fault we are late, they still get a star.) After so many stars, I told them they would get a prize. Well, since then they've been little angels in the morning.... sleepy angels, but angels. Only once have I had to take a star away from each of them; and a couple mornings they were so good and helped each other that I gave them an extra star. Anyway, I really didn't want to reward them with food, nor did I want any more dollar store toys laying around. This morning, I asked if they would like Disney Dollars for their stars. They can exchange their Disney Dollars for a Disney gift card when we go to Disney. (They know we will eventually go back to Disney, but DD thinks it's going to be another two years.) They both loved the idea! So, I've printed some Disney money that someone on the disboards made (sorry, I forgot who), and will be paying each of the kids $1 for every 5 stars. They should have about $75 each in spending money by the time we go. This is spending money I have budgeted anyway, but now instead of just giving it to them, they are being rewarded for their good behavior, and have something to look forward to. I'm hoping it will make them be more mindful when choosing their Disney souvenirs.

I'm also going to get a small jug, and paint it a Disney theme on it to throw our change into. We don't have a lot of change. I never carry cash, and probably have less than $1 on me at any given time, but every little bit will help, and I think it will make it more fun for the kids. Maybe I could put a Disney dollar in it for every $1 I put in my vacation savings.

I worked on our itinerary last night. Hoping to get it finished this weekend. Then I can start making stuff for our trip!

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!!

Hi Everyone! We are planning for the 23rd - 1st. We may add a day at the beginning depending on work schedules. This trip is a surprise as was our last. The surprise part is harder this time as our oldest is more aware of things, she is requesting the surprise again. She didn't know until we were walking out the door last time. We will probably have to tell them the night before so we are able to get everything packed. We have been telling them that we will make the reservations on yDD's 5th birthday 11/29/12 and that the trip will happen sometime between then and our oldest turning 10 in June of 2013. What they don't know is that we will already be in Disney on yDD's 5th bday! Hopefully this will help throw them off.

The plan is for POP now but may change to POFQ depending on any deals that come out. I have already planned a tentative schedule based on this years calendar. This time we will have family with us the first few days so we may be dealing with crowds in unrecommended parks but we want the family to see MK (MSEP, Wishes) and Epcot. I am hoping to go to CP as I think my mom will enjoy it. I am not sure about getting the package as we will have dinning but everyone else is staying off site. We will see!

I read all 41 pages today. I booked the first day I could and didn't know there was already a thread started or I would have been here sooner!

:welcome: I will add your name to our list! I did that too. I told my girls, (11 soon to be 12,7, and 3 currently) that we would go anytime after our oldest turned 13 and youngest turns 5....just so happens we are going before oldest turns 13! :yay: Happy planning! I cant wait to hear your plans, ADR's and such! :santa:

Hi Everyone!

We are planning on next November as well. Dates undecided. Second week tenatively. We want to try to hit the end of F&W festival, the beginning of the Christmas decor and the Osborne lights. Is that even possible!!! :)

We hope so and planning is half of the fun. We think we are going to stay at the Yacht Club because we love it there. But you know I'm praying for a discount because that place is super pricey.

Just to clarify- at this time there are no discounts released for Nov 2012 yet, correct?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Thanks y'all!! It even has a name. It's name is Johnseph. Our oldest DS's name is Joseph and the youngest DS's name is John. When I have to call for them both I just yell Jonseph. When they both wanted to name the pig after themselves, then JM suggested we call it Jonseph.

The Disney Dollar thing is a great idea. I have an Excel spreadsheet that also keep track of spending money and divides it up into different sections. I need to update it to show needing money for gas and hotels there and back.

:welcome: Our trip is a surpise as well. I hope I can keep it that way like you were able to with your last trip. Our DSs know that we are going on a trip, but they just think we are going to Kennedy Space Center and Civil War battlefields. Our plan is to just drive into the FW and not say anything. We're just going to wait and see when they notice it. Then when they say something just act like, "oh, we're at WDW. Really, are sure?"

Nope no discounts yet....I think we will see them-atleast for free dining- starting in August :scared1: yup that far away! Please let us know when you book and I will add you to our list! The second week seems like a popular one!

I have an excel spreadsheet too! It has everything in it... budget, ADRs, ressie info, packing list, etc.

Thanks for the Welcome! I don't know how we managed to pull off the last surprise trip, everyone and I mean everyone knew about it and no one spilled the beans. We had to purchase summer clothing in February and oDD just thought it was for summer. I had the luggage in our closet and filled it as I went along. I came home before she got home from school the day we left and packed the entire car so when she got home I asked her if she needed to use the bathroom before we left and she said "where are we going?" and we told her WDW! She flipped out and was screaming/crying/screaming/crying. The little one had no idea what was going on. We live in NY and spent two days in the car. We planned to drive straight through to night but the little one wasn't handling it very well so we pulled over and got a hotel room.

We are planning to either take the auto train or fly and rent a car this trip. We didn't use Disney transportation much last time and I like to have my own car. We will have see how the pricing goes. Although this time we won't have a bulky double stroller to lug around so we may make due with out a car if we have to financially.

We had a stroller last time and it was fine. We took Disney transportation the whole time and loved it! I dont think I would ever drive around WDW. We plan to fly for our trip in November, I just hope the prices stay down on SW. Not sure whats gonna happen when the merger of SW and AT is over. I hear there wont be anymore AT flights, just SW and they are the cheapest. We shall see I guess

Hi all! Wow, so many posts again!

mommyof3princess27: Spending money, hmm, I guess I don't really keep track of that?! Last time I had quite a bit of Disney Rewards Dollars to redeem from the Disney Visa, so we went a little crazy.

Here's my nosey question: How do you all afford the deluxe resorts and the Deluxe dining plan? It's all we can do to stay at POR and have the regular dining plan..... and I'm so glad we CAN, but I've to do deluxe sometime, too!

Congrats again on your weight loss! That's awesome.

letthewookiewin: LOVE the pig! He is beautiful and SO special. Love his name, too! And totally LOVE your surprise idea. That will be priceless!

AliceInMommyland: WELCOME! Wow, I "only" had to read through 19 pages when I found this thread!:rotfl2: Your surprise was fabulous! How exciting that must have been. We love just parking our van when we get there and not touching it again until it's time for the dreaded drive home...... We just do the Disney transportation and love it!

OrangeCat04: WELCOME to you as well!

Yayyyy! The weekend is here!!!! Now if only the laundry would do itself while I sit here!:laundy::rolleyes:

We are planning our 2nd Disney trip with kids...but it's a secret! We were there in 2008, and have told the girls we'll go back....someday!

We are planning Nov. 9-16,2012, and I LOVE being able to plan for a whole year (plus).

We will be staying at (as of today) Villas at Wilderness Lodge (using my parents timeshare). it has changed 3 times so far, but I think we have finally agreed on this.

Just a question... What, exactly, is everyone on this thread waiting for? :confused3

Is it AP rates or pin codes? Because no GP discounts were offered for November 2011, and that would be a pretty good indication, as mentioned by Disney itself, that most promos/discounts as we know them are going away for good. Again, just curious, what is the expectation/consensus on this thread?

Again, just curious, what is the expectation/consensus on this thread?

Let's see....
Free Dining was offered 1/1/11 - 1/5/11, 1/9/11 - 1/13/11, 1/21/11 - 2/3/11, 2/11/11 - 2/17/11, 2/25/11 - 3/3/11, 5/27/11 - 6/2/11, 8/19/11 - 9/29/11, 10/1/11–10/6/11, 10/22/11–11/3/11, 11/12/11–11/17/11, 11/26/11–12/1/11, 12/10/11–12/15/11, 1/8/12–1/12/12, 1/21/12–2/2/12, 2/11/12–2/16/12, 3/3/12–3/8/12 and 3/24/12–3/29/12.

You could get an AP room only discount 8/14/11 - 10/1/11 and 10/3/11-12/24/11. There was a military and veterans room only discount that ran through 10/1/11. Then AAA and CAA had room only discounts that were offered year round, depedning on the season. That is just what I found in a couple of minutes. As long as we're being curious, why ask this question in this thread? It's not the only one of it's kind. There are threads like this for every month, so it's not like it's just those going in November 2012 that are thinking along these lines.
Also, if you notice the purple bolded section, free dining was offered for November dates this year. I wouldn't say there is an "expectation for" but a hope that the same thing is offered for next year.
