6. Cretaceous Trail
- 6.1 Large Dinosaur sculptures in trees
- 6.2 Large Dinosaur sculptures in trees
- 6.3 If there are trees then there must be some shade?

I was just in an AK thread. Have any of you ever been on this trail? How have I missed this?

from allears AK DinoLand description -

ATTRACTIONS

The Boneyard - A playground for children

Dinosaur - The Dino Institute - Home to the thrill attraction (originally called Countdown to Extinction)

Cretaceous Trail -- Located near the Dinosaur attraction, you can take a short walk back in time to see reproductions of the dinosaurs that lived during the Cretaceous period.

Theater in the Wild - a 1,500-seat indoor theater with a stage show called Finding Nemo: the Musical!

Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama - a mini-land that features a Midway with carnival-style "Fossil Fun Games," TriceraTop Spin (similar to the Magic Kingdom's Dumbo except with dinosaurs), and Primeval Whirl, a "wild mouse" type roller coaster.

Dino-Sue -- the largest most complete T-Rex ever found. More than 90 percent of her bones have been accounted for. She is 40 feet long and 13 feet tall.

Check out the Dinoland USA Bits and Bites

Has anyone ever done the Luau? Wondering if it is worth the two credits?

Coral Reef was fun. We got to sit next to the glass & the diver had a Happy Birthday sign for DS. (I don't think they do that anymore) Food was ok, not great.

2012 potential TS for us
Le Cellier
Tutto Italia
Chef Mickey
Tusker House Donald bfast
O'hana Bfast
Boma
Rose & Crown
Crystal Palace
Chef de France - anyone eaten here?

Happy Tuesday!

I think I read somewhere that free dining is already offered in the UK for almost all of 2012.

I have read that. That is another reason I think it will be offered to us. :goodvibes

Good Morning! DS woke up a half hour early this morning, yuck!

Smileybug, I figured out which thread you were talking about but I did think I was crazy for a second, lol.

We are going to purchase travel insurance for this trip because if DD makes Varsity soccer and if they make it to the second round of play offs she wants to stay home with her grandparents and will fly out to meet us a few days late. So cancellation insurance is a must. I will purchase separately through Travel Guard.

That sounds like a win win for her!! :thumbsup2

I've done everything else. I have just missed that trail some how. :confused3
I love dinosaurs. :rotfl: I guess we have gotten in a habit of doing the same thing. Without really being aware of what is around us. :laughing:Thanks for that info though.:thumbsup2

Your list sounds good. We haven't eaten at Chef de France either. I think we are guilty of being stuck in a rut. I think it is time we get out of it.

Ok, you got me curious....I went upstairs & found our AK map from our last visit. No Cretaceous Trail listed. My best guess is that it is the trails that lead back to Dinosaur ride. We've always looked at the dinos hanging out there, but never thought it was more than Disney themeing.

So we have been walking through it all this time and just didn't know it? :lmao: Well, I guess I feel better. Thank you for clarifying that for me.

FYI my November buddies...

On another thread someone got a FD pin and they checked and said as of right now it has not blackout dates in November, here's hoping this sprinkle of pixie dust comes all of our ways!!

Oh my! I missed out on SO MUCH yesterday!!!!!

So now I am SEptember 2012 BUT I looked for a post and can't find one....I don't want to leave you all!!!! :(

Another thing...I received a pin in the mail yesterday, it said it was 10% rooms, but it only had the dates of January 2012, I saw on another thread someone was able to book other dates, I'm gonna check tonight and I'll report back.

Do you know if you use a pin and then a better offer comes along if you can "override" it with the better offer?

Awesome, thanks!

And you don't have to leave the little group here just because your dates changed to September

There are lots of good planning tips here! And I doubt the September group is half as good:lmao:

Thank you :) I actually just started a Sept 2012 group! There isn't one!!!!!! I guess that could be a good thing. Maybe I'll be the only ones at the parks :rotfl:

Yes you can do that. They will let you.:goodvibes

Enjoy your new thread. :goodvibes But please visit us here.

I have never used the travel insurance before. I'm sorry about your bosses (sp?) grandmother. Does your boss have the insurance?

Oh, thank goodness! I thought I must be going crazy!:rotfl2:

Yes, my boss as the insurance. I'm not sure what they are going to do. As of this morning, she was still in Disney. They have family all over the US so it may take a week for everyone to be able to make arrangements to get to MI.

Happymom,
I always buy travel insurance when we travel. But have never bought the one offered at the WDW site, so I cannot comment on what their policy might cover. DD fell ill at WDW in '08 and we had to make a trip to Urgent Care (Centra-care??) and then to Florida Hospital. It was not pleasant. However, the insurance we had covered all her medical expenses. And it would have covered the cost of delayed travel if it came to that. We were just a day away from departing Orlando. So I cannot stress enough how important travel insurance is! We're don't reside in the U.S., so we have to pay for everything upfront (cash or credit card) first. The insurance agency will then reinburse us after we file a claim at home. The cost of medical care in the U.S. is VERY high compared to other developed countries. So insurance is necessary.

I'm curious... Are there people who do purchase the insurance from the WDW site? What is covered and what's not?:confused3

I'm not sure what Disney's insurance covers, but I'll be checking into it.

I got a call at 8:50 from my DD's school that she was sick. She's with my parents, and I'm sure they are taking wonderful care of her, but I hate not being with her when she's sick. :sad2: I wish I was with DD, but (1) since my mom wasn't doing anything, she would actually get upset if I didn't let her take care of DD, and (2) with my boss out, I'm the only one in our department and can't leave. Anyway, I'm just :sad2: because I wish I was with my baby, and I knew y'all would understand. :goodvibes

Happy Tuesday!

We've never been to the Luau. I say go for it! I forgot; we had the diver and the sign at Coral Reef for DD's 7th birthday. She was SOOOO excited. Your list sounds great. We loved Le Cellier, Tutto Italia, Boma and Crystal Palace. We liked Chef Mickey's, but probably won't do that one again. Only been to O'hana for dinner (and adore it!). Haven't been to Tusker House since it became a buffet and have never been to the others.

No WAY is the September group as good as this one!;)

Goodness, we CERTAINLY understand. Hope your DD is already feeling better. to you both!

Our nephew is staying with us for a while and I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm CRAZY with all my Disney talk! :lmao::worship: Apparently, he was raised wrong! :rotfl:
