Has anyone had a specialty cake made for your celebration? We will be celebrating my youngest DS's 4th birthday and my oldest DS's 19th birthday while at Disney and wanted to have a cake made and delivered to them while at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue. I have seen alot of nice cakes on the cake thread but wasn't sure where they will deliver to:confused3

I havent but I have read that they deliver to most restuarants

Yea I had time to kill so I waited :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
and I was doing something, anything, to get out of doing Statistics homework.

I'm thinking about getting one for our oldest DS's bday. I was thinking it would be a waste since we are going to be on the DlxDDP. I want to see what y'all think of this plan. On Joey's bday we will be at Ecpot and eat lunch at Teppan Edo. I was just thinking (having problem with a Statistics problem and needed a break before my brain explodes) that we could have it delivered at Teppan Edo. Then we could share it with people at our table, and since we might go back to the room for a nap, we won't have to deal with it at MVMCP.
I just found it again, and don't know if you've looked at it yet or not. The cake chatter thread might be able to help us both with cake related questions.

I just looked at everyone's plans, and all I have to say is WOW!!! They all look like great plans. :cool1:

My question to everyone is... what criteria do you use when making your plans? :confused3 Do think of the ADRs you want and book around those? Do you look at special events and book around those? I look at various websites for previous year's crowd calendars and base my scheduling off that. From there I decide what restaurants we want to go to, and try to fit as many of them as I can in. Just curious what everyone else does. popcorn::

Also, someone, I can't remember (maybe mommyof3princess) mentioned whether to do the MVMCP on a Wed or Fri. Friday is definitely the locals night. Last year, we went on a Friday and when we pulled up in the parking lot we were surrounded by FL license plates. MVMCP is usually held on Tues, Wed and Fri nights, but not always. Fri is the only night the locals can take their kids and not have to worry about school the next day. That being said, I wouldn't have an issue going a Friday night again. Whatever works with your schedule, but I definitely think a Tuesday or Wednesday night would a smaller crowd. JMHO. :goodvibes

I am guessing you have the delux dining plan? Do you find it worth it? Too much food? I was debating on it. I am not sure with 2 smaller children if its worth it

We did the deluxe last year. Did we order more food than we normally would have? Yes, but we never stuffed ourselves. We didn't always eat lunch and did some 2 credit meals instead. I loved not having to worry about price or going over budget. We stayed at the POP, and had free dining so we upgraded to the DxDDP. I kept every receipt and wrote all the prices down for meals, snacks, etc. On our way home, I added it up and we came out $500 ahead!! We did two table service meals every day, except one. We did 6 character meals, including CRT, and loved having the characters come to use while we ate. My kids would see characters around the parks and ask, "Are we eating with them?" :rotfl2: If I said yes, they kept on walking. As a result we wasted very little of our park time waiting in lines to see the characters. If we wanted a snack, no problem.

I know my planning doesn't seem like the norm but I was a TGM member in the past and implement his touring advice. We had an amazing vacation thanks to his touring advice.

I did his touring plan last year, or at least I tried to. I found it hard to follow and just gave up. Glad it worked for you. What do you like about it?

DH has to work on the laptop now so I'll post my plan some time this weekend. Tomorrow night we are having date night! The kids are going to my parent's house the night, and DH and I are going out to celebrate our 9 year anniversary. :cool1: Hope everyone has a great Friday. I'll catch up with y'all again this weekend.

Please ignore any typos. I'm in a hurry and no time to proof read.

When trying to put together our touring plans I will take into consideration which nights Fantasmic & MVMCP are available. I know we will be visiting each park one full day except for MK (2days). Going by 2011 schedule MVMCP will be Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday the week we are going. I would avoid Friday because of the crowds. Fantasmic is running everyday but Thursday so any other day would be good...we just hope we will have enough time for Osborne Lights as well. The day we visit AK, because of the early closing times, we will do the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue so we don't have to take any time away from another park. With it being our first visit to Disney we don't feel the need to have park hoppers (there will be plenty for us to see at each park) so we can just plan our ADR's based on the park we visit that day. Now all we need to do is wait for the Nov 2012 calendar to be posted and make our ADRs. Even though we are staying on~site we are going to try to skip EMH to avoid the early morning crowds. We will on the other hand try to book early morning breakfasts at TH & CP:thumbsup2

I looked at this year's calendar and worked off of it. There were only two days that I didn't take that into consideration. Our arrival day was a no brainer for DHS b/c it's maybe a 1/2 day park for us. Then when I asked my DS if he was ever at WDW on his bday, which park would he want to be in. Since his answer was DHS, that's what we are doing on his bday. Then I just tried to not go to the same park on consecutive days.

:rotfl:Maybe the Dis is starfting to notice your weight loss......:thumbsup2

:lmao: I missed you! Welcome back! I guess the Dis isnt slow for you today? party:

So i made another payment on our big Nov trip...tell me-do you guys make monthly payments? Or just pay it off in a lump sum? I feel like I am getting no where! My goal was to have half paid off by our 1 year mark. In order to do that, I have to have $468 paid off by november 10th. Do able you say??? Well it would have been if my truck wouldnt have needed to be fixed (grrrr boy w/o insurance!!!) I know we arent gonna see anything. So no use in being mad. :headache: Im biting the bullet and getting it fixed next week. Its gonna cost $600 (a friend is doing it). Oh well. Maybe just maybe I will find some :tink: and come up with the money. I think we are doing great considering we booked in July and will *try* to have half paid by Nov. Now we will just have the rest and spending money :lmao: and airfare and food and MVMCP......the list goes on.......

This will make you laugh. I was online looking at the BMI calculator. So I put in my height(im a shorty 5'2.5") and my weight. It says im overweight. 3 months ago I was obese. So okay I know Im a little overweight. but Iv done great so far...so for fun I entered my height as 5'6" and the bmi said normal....who knew my problem wasnt that I am overweight, its that im 4 inches too short LMAO!!

So in essence none of us have a weight problem. We have a height problem.

The Dis is still very slow for me. Posting is taking forever.

You're right MVMCP is on Sunday, Tuesday & Friday. I got all mixed up, didn't I?! :guilty:

We booked early morning ADRs at every park last year and loved it. It was amazing getting in the parks before they opened. I recommend this to everyone! DH took some great pictures in each of the parks and we got a picture of us in front of the castle with NO one else in the background!! Love it!

I have a set budget for yearly vacations. Sometimes we use it all like when we go to Disney, sometimes we don't. I have a savings account set up at my credit union for Disney/vacation money only. A portion of each paycheck goes into it so I save automatically. I'd rather earn interest (even a small amount) than let someone else earn interest off my money. Plus if the unthinkable happens and I really need it, it's there. I pay Disney about 45 - 60 days prior to our trip. Next year I will pay off our balance with my Disney Visa, earn the points, pay off the card with my vacation savings, then cash in the points to use as spending money on our trip!!

This will make you laugh. I was online looking at the BMI calculator. So I put in my height(im a shorty 5'2.5") and my weight. It says im overweight. 3 months ago I was obese. I wish I could say that. I'm already 5'10"! :sad2:

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Here is our plan as of right now. I'm still not happy with it so I'm sure it will change again. We are doing the DxDDP, and I know I'm over in my credits because of some 2 credit meals, but we don't eat lunch every day so I'll be ok.

Saturday
Arrive around 11am (We are driving and will stop about 3 hours from Disney)
L - Beaches & Cream @ BC or Earl of Sandwich @ DTD
Richard Petty Driving Experience - DH wants to take DS to watch the cars. (Ughh - definitely not on my want list, but DS will probably enjoy it.)
DTD for a couple hours
D - Hoop Dee Doo
Explore the resort/arcade

Sunday
B - CRT (8am)
MK for the day
D - Be Our Guest (I'm hoping) or California Grille
Watch fireworks from our resort

Monday
B - Akershus
Epcot - Future World
D - Via Napoli
Evening free to do whatever

Tuesday
B - Tusker House
AK for the day
D - O'Hana (may switch days with Hoop Dee Doo)
Free for the evening (maybe go for a swim)

Wednesday
B - Crystal Palace
MK for the day
Go back to room for a nap
MVMCP
D - Grab quick service for dinner so we don't waste precious party time!!

Thursday
Let the kids sleep as late as they want
B - Capt'n Cook @ Poly
Epcot - World Showcase
L - eat around the world. We are going to get different snacks from all the countries or use some of our lunch credits and share different meals.
D - Chef de France (or maybe Garden Grille)
Illuminations

Friday
Let the kids sleep as late as they want to
B - ??
Hollywood Studios for the day
D - Flyin' Fish @ BW
Back to HS for Obsorne Christmas Lights

So.. this is it... as of right this minute. I'm already considering a few changes. Since this is our first (and probably last) time to stay at the Poly, I really want to catch the Electric Water Pageant and MK fireworks from the beach. I've also heard they have a really great lighting ceremony that I'd like see. Our kids are still young so we don't stay out late a lot, and they probably won't sleep past 8 or 9 on their sleep late mornings. I haven't decided if we are going to do hoppers yet. I don't think I need them right now. Any thoughts, comments or suggestions are welcome!!

The way I plan our days is by avoiding all EMHs. I prefer to keep my kids' schedules pretty consistent as at home, so I don't push them to stay out late or get up early. It makes the days go easier with little ones, but once they are older, this will change. I would love to do an early ADR to get into MK b4 opening, but I will wait.
I then fill in the ADRs based on which park we are at.

Wow........That's all I have to say. Ya'll have been very busy with the plans. I haven't been around much lately because the Dis has been soooooooo slooooooow. :confused3 It has been hard to even log on.

LOL, and I thought my computer was slow!

Oooh, I love reading everyone's schedules! I learn things (for instance, I didn't know about "Be Our Guest" and I'm assuming this is a planned restaurant in the new Fantasyland renovation, so I definitely want to get more info on this, and I never would have thought about trying the CS at POR for Thanksgiving), so now I have other options to consider...
We'll be coming from a couple of nights at Universal, and am hoping to stay at the YC. But, I'm also looking into renting points at BWV, BCV, or OKW, or possibly even the Swan or Dolphin (really want to stay at YC, but price may be a factor!)
Here's my first draft, assuming we're at the YC (or an Epcot resort):
Sun, the 18th: transfer from Universal, arriving 4:00p-ish, Disney Quest for a couple of hours and dinner at DTD or a Boardwalk-area restaurant
Mon, the 19th: MK, with an early-entry reservation for CP (a family must-do), and dinner at Columbia Harbor House
Tues, the 20th: HS, with a late lunch at 50's (another family must-do), Fantasmic, and closing down the place with the Osborne Lights (our first time)
Wed, the 21st: AKL for the morning, with quick brkfst at Pizzafari, then transfer to Epcot for a late lunch at Chef de France, and I'm considering moving over to MK for a Wishes dessert party and closing down MK
Thanksgiving: DTD/DQ, with dinner undecided, and watching Illuminations from resort area/BW area
Fri: Epcot day, late lunch at Le Cellier/early Candlelight Processional (unless I don't like the narrator),and then transfer to MK for Wishes, as I want that to be the last thing I see before we leave (the next day)
Sat: DTD for more DQ and a late flight home
I am also considering adding another day to our trip so that my guys can do the Aqua Seas tour at Epcot...
I'm pondering having a customized itinerary done for $40 (can't remember the website, but I read about it here on the DISboards). This will be my fourth trip, so I feel fairly confident of my ability, but we've never visited for this long over a holiday, so that is scaring me a bit...

I learned from your post, too. I had not realized that the Candlelight Processional starts on Black Friday! I thought we were out of luck because of going Thanksgiving week (like out of luck for MVMCP). Now, we may have to rearrange things to see the Candlelight Processional! :cool1:

You check out day is my DS's 15th bday.

The Liberty Tavern lunch may turn into a lunch at Be Our Guest, depending on what we hear between now and our 180+ out day. I hate to go ahead and plan on eating somewhere when I don't have an opening date for.
Also, I noticed that your in Arlington. You're not far from us. We live in Justin. If you don't know where that is, it's between Fort Worth and Denton going up 35. If you know anything about NASCAR and know where the Texas Motor Speedway is, we can see that from our front door.

I'm not planning on Be Our Guest, but I'm very much hoping it will work out. At the 180+ mark, I'll make and ADR for Crystal Palace or Tony's. Then, if they open up Be Our Guest ahead of time, I'll book that (hopefully) and cancel the other.

I think it is so cool that you live so near the Texas Motor Speedway!

I just looked at everyone's plans, and all I have to say is WOW!!! They all look like great plans.

A very Happy 9th Anniversary to you and your DH!! Where are you going? I hope you have lots of fun.

For us with planning, we really like to start our trips at Epcot and end them at Magic Kingdom. (although, may have to adjust that if we decide to do the Candlelight Processional) Work out another day for each of those parks and then 2 for DHS also. Last year, we skipped DAK and none of us missed it, so we'll do that again next year. I try to avoid EMH. My boys act like I'm commando anyway when I wake them up in the morning! :rotfl2:

:lmao: I missed you! Welcome back! I guess the Dis isnt slow for you today? party:

DH puts the money from his off-duty jobs into a credit union account. Since they don't take taxes out of those, we'll lose a good bit of it at tax time, but the rest is our Disney fund (and sometimes emergency fund). Last year, we put the balance on the Disney Visa and then paid it off after the interest-free six-month period. Not sure about doing that again because we now have some debt on the card, but I did like getting the extra Disney dollars to spend there.

This will make you laugh. I was online looking at the BMI calculator. So I put in my height(im a shorty 5'2.5") and my weight. It says im overweight. 3 months ago I was obese. Would love to do an early ADR at Crystal Palace again, but my boys are of the age where they are rough to rouse in the morning. Those photo ops of a empty MK are awesome though!

Has anyone ever done the Candlelight Processional? I'd love to hear about it if you have. One specific question I have about it is: Can you use your DP credits for it? If so, would it one credit or two? It says the cost of it includes your meal. So if you can use the DP credit(s), do you pay an additional fee, too? Not even sure I'm asking this right, but if you managed to understand what I'm asking, I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Have a super Friday evening!

Ok so its Friday night, and Im home, every time I check FB, everybody's status's say they are going out......Im not:/ Never do lol and it stinks!!!!!!! lol Anyway, in 2 weeks is our anniversary (11ys) and THAT is our date night :)

So instead of trying to loose weight, you should be trying to add inches.:lmao:

The Dis is still very slow for me. Posting is taking forever.
I like this theory!! It's not that I'm Pooh sized that is the problem it's my gnome-like height that is the problem.
I've been having the same problem about the DIS being slow. When it is, I shut down the Internet Explorer and re-open it. When I do that, the DIS seems to go at a normal speed.

Honestly, it's more of a pain than anything. Traffic is terrible and we don't leave the house unless we have no other option.

Well, I'm not going out. I'm not allowed to do anything, per doctor's orders. I have really bad high blood pressure that has not been controlled since 1. my doctor closed his practice and became a hospitalist and 2. my DH lost his job and with it our health insurance. Well I finally found a doctor that doesn't take insurance and I really liked him. When he took my blood pressure the first time I was standing up and it was 205/130. He honestly told me that if I had insurance, he would send me to the ER and they would admit me for a couple of day. Since I don't have insurance, they would just give me a pill and send me home. Then he took my blood pressure while I was sitting down and it was only 160/115. Next was the blood work, and it was a good thing he didn't take my blood pressure at this point. This guy was so amazing I wanted to hug and kiss him. It's usually hard enough to get blood out of my arm with a butterfly needle. This doctor got it in my hand, with one stick, and it just hurt a little. He did an EKG, which he didn't charge me for (should have been an additional $40). When he looked at the EKG he said, "well you haven't done any damage to your heart yet". He is going to be in the office for about an hour tomorrow and wants to see me to check my blood pressure. He sent me to a pharmacy down the road to pick up 2 meds. All together, we only spent $99 ($35 for office visit, $50 for blood work, $14 for meds). The doctor doesn't want me doinig anything until he can see me tomorrow. Then once my blood pressure is stable, he wants me to walk 45 minutes a day 3 times a week.

Ha ha! At least you didn't have to spend your Friday evening sitting in a dimly lit skating rink, reading a book, supervising your daughter so she could skate with her little boyfriend. NOT so much fun. DH was working a football game. We're very boring, but we like it!

So instead of trying to loose weight, you should be trying to add inches.:lmao:

:scared1: ACK! Take care of yourself. I have a terrible fear of doctors (ironic since I'm an LPN) and haven't been to one since I had to for nursing school in 2004. My BP was high then (and at repeated visits to check it). That doctor left to go teach or something and I didn't go anywhere else. I know I should as I don't want to kill myself with high BP, but I'm WAY too chicken. :guilty::sad2: I hope you get yours under control.

I hope we get more info about Be Our Guest before our 180+ days as well, but frankly, I'd be excited if it just was opening and maybe taking walk-ups or something, or even just doing a test night......yeah, I'm pretty desperate for it! :rolleyes1

Yes, I could definitely see living so close to a NASCAR track as being a big :headache:

If any of you could spare any prayers or just positive thoughts for my DS20. He's going for his oral test and last flight to get his private pilot license. He is so smart and KNOWS this stuff and is a great pilot, but his nerves are really getting to him and they have ruined things for him before. I hope he keeps his cool because then he'll have no problems. Hopefully, I'll have good news to share tomorrow.

Good night! :cloud9:
