At least the Swan and Dolphin is a really nice backup plan! I hope you see another PIN very soon. Have you tried all the usual tricks since they reopened the account?

I have had too much planning time on my hands, so I started playing around with another trip. We'll be celebrating our 15 year anniversary next year and I've decided we'll make it a Disney celebration. Have you ever seen a more pathetic ticker than the new one I just added to my profile?

No, my ticker for our first trip was 18 months out!! :rotfl2: But yours is a close 2nd! ;)

I think the one you are referring to is The Sum of All Thrills...it's located in EPCOT and it is awesome!!!!!

Can someone confirm this? I saw it on a Disney special, and they said it was in Disney Quest. I wonder if there is a list of attractions/games at Disney Quest available. :confused3

~~~~
Hope everyone is having a great Disney planning day! :goodvibes
We did the one at Epcot in 2010...Sum of all Thrills....but I too seen the Disney Special with the one located at Disney Quest...and I believe they are two different things. The one at Epcot was open at the feet...and you wear "goggle type" headgear....the one at Disney Quest...according to what was shown on the special was a closed similator...different. I don't know if that gives any confirmation...but I'm sure they are TWO DIFFERENT RIDES at two different places.
Yes S&D is not a bad backup plan!!!:thumbsup2
Also...I don't think it's pathetic to have a ticker that far out...it says you are a dreamer, full of hope and look forward to the great things in life!!! Walt would LOVE IT!!!:goodvibes I also thinkDisney would be a fab Anniversary Trip!!! ENJOY!!!
I've seen the same special, and you're right! There is a ride in Disney Quest, but there's also a similar attraction in Epcot called Sum of all Thrills. I can't give you a first hand account, because I've never done either of them. I can't tell you if they're identical attractions, but from the descriptions I've seen, they're very similar!
Sum of All Thrills is in Innoventions and opened in October of 2009, or thereabouts. I'm pretty sure the Disney Quest version has been there longer.
yes they are fairly similar as far as I remember.......um hmmm my memory can be pretty bad, but if I'm remembering correctly the one at Disney Quest is a lil' more intense???? Someone else may have a better memory than me :laughing:
The Sum of All Thrills is in Innoventions, you watch a little movie clip, go into the next room and design your own simulated experience....then you get into the simulator and your feet are out. If you have on flip flops or loose shoes, you remove them...then you do your ride...not sure which one you are talking about for Disney Quest--Haven't seen that commercial...we just did the SofAT in Nov of 2011---it was very cool!! Sorry if I confused you,..I didn't realize there were 2 rides/experiences that were so similiar!
We're planning our trip for Nov. 29 to Dec 8th this year - a postponment from last year's 12/1 - 12/10/11.
We're still hoping for some pixiedust: for FD to be offered on those dates again.
I've only received one discount card in the mail so far and I know that had to do with the call I made last month regarding CBR. Especially since the card says "...So we want to make sure you don't miss out on all the things you need to plan the Walt Disney World Resort visit you're thinking about in November."
Just made another payment but sadly I still owe over $1800!!!! ugh this is going slower than I thought!
I know what you mean. I have it down to $1300.00 but that is hotel only. I still need to pay for park tickets and save for food. We haven't purchased airfare yet because we are waiting for SW and AT to release their fares for our dates but I do have that money set aside so we can book asap. I can't wait for this trip to be paid for!
I went online today and saved 3 different vacation offers for 3 different resorts: AsMu Family suite, AoA, and Wilderness Lodge. The WL looks really cute with the bunkbed rooms, but I just feel like for the money you can't beat the family suites. I loved the extra room and extra bathroom. The pools at the moderate and deluxe resorts looks awesome, but I'm just not sure about spending the money. Now if I get a 30% PIN I might re-think that.:thumbsup2
If FD is offered for Nov. how much is it to upgrade the free DP at a value resort from CS to the regular DP?
I got my Nov pin AFTER I booked my Nov trip.
The resort doesn't matter.
I believe it would cost $116 per adult per week - give or take a buck.
Upgrading from the QS to the DP will cost less than $20 (adult) per night and less than $6 (child) per night.
Anyone have experience with getting a refund after being paid in full? Would love to pay off our trip but don't want to worry about getting money back if a discount is offered later. What is the normal process?
I did this a few days ago. They refunded the difference back to the original CC.
I think they said it could take up to 2 billing cycles to see it. I got the email confirmation immediately, though.
It's not a big deal. Besides if you use a CC, you have charge back rights if something doesn't get refunded.
Good morning!!! I got so excited yesterday because I saw a Disney Destinations card in the mail(addressed to my bro but he is going with us) and it said go to this web address to see whats waiting for u....I got so excited I couldnt even type it right! :yay: So it loads and viola! Its a page saying the next step is to book dining and has a pic of a monorail on it :headache: :mad: NO PIN CODE!!!! :headache: :sick: Thanks Disney for getting my hopes up for nothing!!!:sad2: :headache: :lmao: Oh well :goodvibes
I got my Nov pin AFTER I booked my Nov trip.
Really? That's encouraging. I've been holding off booking because I'm afraid that I would never get a PIN. I might book for AoA right now. I know that discounts will not apply, but I also know that those rooms will be filling up soon. We can always switch later. If I had no $ worries (HA) I would stay at Poly. I've always wanted to stay there!
:wave2: Oh...Hello!
I just have a question and not sure where to ask....if anyone has any input/feedback I would be very grateful to hear your thoughts! (Yes You! :goodvibes)
So, right now we are booked POR from 11/25 - 12/2....No discounts or anything...juss reg old rack rates.....
We are considering making the switch to 11/11 - 11/18
Now....I need you and your crystal ball to suggest which dates, historically? would offer the best chance at Free Dining?!?!? :cool1:
Also, is the 11/11 time frame what they call "Jersey Week" ??
Any thoughts here.....Hope you all have a MAGICAL time during your visits!
j71
there is a lot going on that weekend of 11/9-11/11
  • Veterans Day on 11/11
  • Jersey week ending that weekend (actual Jersey week is the week before, but most will still be there through 11/10)
  • last weekend of Food & Wine- it ends 11/11
  • Festival of the Masters at DTD- 11/9-11/11 huge crowds with locals
  • Wine and Dine half marathon on 11/10 at Epcot - usually after hours, but lots of marathon crowds are there that weekend
by 11/11, the crowds should thin out and by Monday, 11/12, should be GREAT!
Hi Nov 2012 disers! :)
Just wondering... Who among us are actually booked with PINs/discounts and who are booked at full price (rack rate) and still waiting for a discount of sorts? I'll start.
Me: Full price and crossing my fingers for some sort of promo.:wizard: Pixie dust, please!!
We are DVC, so we are booked at BLT already on points. So no discounts for us, they don't apply if you are DVC. boo! but here to cheer on everyone else and hoping you get fabulous discounts!!!:thumbsup2
What do ya'll think about Disney Quest?
We enjoyed it when we did it years ago and i mean years....like 10 years ago. LOL- but fun way to spend an afternoon especially with teens.
We are BOOKED!!!!
So we finally decided to just book our dates before any kind of pin/discount!!
We chose November 9th-16th and decided on the Polynesian!
Question- I know the beginning of our trip falls during "Jersey Week". I am unfamiliar with this, does it really impact crowds? Also Veterans day.. should we be worried? I have gone over Memorial day weekend which I did find crowded, if that can be compared to it at all?
I am super excited, and also very excited for all the other November planners! :wizard: Planning is half of the fun...
see my note above onthe crowds. Really Jersey week shouldn't have a huge impact, but you will notice crowds at Epcot due to Food & Wine last weekend, crowds at DTD for the festival and more. :goodvibes
SOOO.....has anyone booked airfare????? I'm too chicken......!:rolleyes1 Southwest not releasing dates until May might put me over the edge.... I'm an obsessive airfare checker. Usually we have to book 6 tickets so I'm a bargain hunter, but with only 2 of us going I'm going to book non-stop flights that I want for a change rather than only the cheapest ones I can find!!
How hard is it to get tickets to MVMCP? We were hoping to do a Thu-Tue stay but if we can get tickets (and the first one is on 11/6) we might do Fri-Wed! :) One of my bucket list items is to see WDW at Christmas..so this would be perfect! We always go in the hot hot hot summer!
we haven't booked air yet, trying to wait until 3 months out if we can unless a great deal comes out!
MVMCP tickets are usually easy to get, except for a few select dates- like the last party or weekend parties. We prefer going on a Tuesday, less locals, less crowds. Most parties don't sell out and you can often buy tickets on site that day. They do NOT refund if it is raining or something, which is why a lot of folks wait until day of to buy. The first party might be busy, so you might want to buy in advance on that. plus certain days offer discounts for DVC and AP holders and those can fill up faster too.
Hi, I finally finished catching up - this thread moves fast and I've been gone several days :-) can I just ask another quick question!? I've seen people mentioning ADR's? Do you already have planned out what park you are going to each day of your trip? When will they release extra magic hours info and MVMCP dates cause that would end up changing our ADR's? I suppose I could get together a general idea of where I want to go to then plan actual days later. Was wondering how you all do it?
Thanks :-)
We have our days planned already, which park in the am, and PM, as well as planned days/nights to catch certain parades/fireworks, plus Pirate League and meals. I have a rough plan already ready. I use historical hours and EMH hours to plan mine until official hours are released. :thumbsup2
Does anyone know if they will still be doing the Main Street Electrical Parade in November on non-MVMCP nights?
they usually run MSEP every night in November on non-MVMCP nights. During thanksgiving, they will even run it twice when it is busy.
On the DisneyQuest and Sum of All Thrills- there are TWO rides. Sum of All Thrills sponsored by my former employer, Raytheon is at Innoventions in Epcot, it is great fun! The other, located at DisneyQuest is Cyberspace Mountain and is similar, but much older, so not sure the technology is as good or not as the Epcot version. They are slightly different, but same general concept.
