LOL!
I was playing on mousesavers last night and clicked through to David's. Anyone think renting DVC is the way to go? Unless FD comes out. Then I'd need a MYW package, right?
Nope, just book tickets separate and you can add dining if you want. They don't offer "packages" when you are DVC, every thing is sort of a la carte. YOu can add dining, but you must pay it the day you add it apparently. I have found booking tickets through
UT the best bet. We were AP holders, which I guess is what a lot of DVC folks do, but ours expired and it doesn't make sense for us to get them right now (trying to have a baby later this year). So just park hoppers through UT for us. WE will be purchasing TIW instead of buying the dining plan.
I'm so jealous... I've still got a ways to go!
Does anyone have any suggestions for a restaurant for our Thanksgiving meal? I'm thinking we'll be in the Epcot or around the Boardwalk area that day, but we could go to HS for a meal and see the Osborne Lights.
I was playing with the idea of Garden Grill, because we've never been there. But 50's Prime Time seems like it would be a fun place for Thanksgiving dinner, too! Has anyone had any memorable Holiday dinners at WDW?
I was going to say GG too- seems like a good fit. Liberty Tree Tavern has a thanksgiving type meal already too! 50s might be fun!
I went through David's for my point rental, and they are very popular around the Disboards. They've been around a long time and are very reputable, so I didn't worry about it. I've seen my reservation confirmation on the Disney site since booking.
One thing to keep in mind is that if you buy your tickets from
Undercover Tourist, you won't have the option of adding the dining plan. You'd have to get your tickets directly from Disney and add the dining plan. And maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe
free dining is ever offered to DVC members. So if you rent points, you won't be able to take advantage of free dining.
I've only heard great things about David's. Free dining is not available to DVC members, unless you are staying in a regular room that is. If you are staying on points, whether renting or owning, no free dining.
yeah, that's great news!!!!
I've been looking at TP's touring plans today, and I'm wondering how much they will change when the FP time restrictions go into effect or when the new Fantasyland is complete. Guess that part of my planning will have wait until our dates get much closer.
DH bound the kids Epcot passports for me, and they look great! I finished their autograph books today, and DH is going to take those to work tomorrow to bind for me. I'm heading out early tomorrow to pick up some plain back packs so I can get them made this week. I have lots to get done this week!
So cool- you are so ahead of the rest of us! I'll be doing all that a month before or so probably. lol!

Congrats! Nice to see those PIN codes are still coming!
I have a question for split-stay vets about dining reservations.
The Swan & Dolphin have 180 day reservations, without the +10, so my plan has been to call in every day to schedule my ADR's once I get to the 180 day mark. Now I've added one night at a Disney resort to the front end. Will this allow me 180 +10 for my whole stay, or is it limited to the length of the stay with my DVC reservation?
Does anyone know if I'll be able to book all the way through, even if my reservation is only for one night?
We're finishing out at a Disney resort, too, so I know I'll have 180 + 10 for the second half of our trip. I've made our trip good and complicated for lots of planning fun!
hmmm, don't know on that one, i would guess that you will only be able to make for as long as your ressie, but who knows- that could be completely wrong. I say worth trying and seeing it if locks you out or lets you book- worth a try! good luck and let us know.
I have noticed alot of people on the DIS having problems getting ADRs for the HDDR thru August so I gave DD a call and have some not-so-good news. HDDR will be going thru a lengthy rehab starting Aug 5th until the end of the year.

This is one I was really looking forward to...anyone been to one of the other dinner shows? How did you like it?
On a better note
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
Happy V day all! So sad, but i guess everything needs a refurb. WE love HDDR! We weren't planning it this trip though. I haven't tried the other shows. The luau is just not appealing to me and I haven't heard great things about it. We've done one in Hawaii, so we just sort don't care about doing it at Disney. I haven't tried the barbeque one, but that might be fun!!
