I have noticed alot of people on the DIS having problems getting ADRs for the HDDR thru August so I gave DD a call and have some not-so-good news. HDDR will be going thru a lengthy rehab starting Aug 5th until the end of the year. :sad2: This is one I was really looking forward to...anyone been to one of the other dinner shows? How did you like it?

On a better note
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Bummer I was hoping to see that on the night we arrive. OK back to the spreadsheet! :rotfl:

Just received a PIN in the mail today (snail mail). It says stay with us in November and Save 10% at select Disney Resort hotels.

Value Resorts 11/1 -11/16 and 11/24 - 11/30 Sunday - Thursday nights
Moderate Resorts 11/1 - 11/16 and 11/24 - 11/30 Sunday - Thursday nights
Deluxe Resorts 11/1 - 11/19 and 11/24 -11/30 Sunday - Thursday nights

Must book by 3/11

Sorry that I am not familiar with all of the abbreviations. Could someone clarify what HDDR is? I am assuming it is a dinner show by the context of the message, but I cannot think of what one at the moment.

Was it 10% on all different resorts or just 10% on say Value?

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

We did the Backyard BBQ this past September and enjoyed it. We did HDDR the time before that.

Just got in the mail a pin for 20% off for select nights. Value and Mod only hits one night we are there. But Deluxe is all but 2. Considering up grading to deluxe, what do everyone think? We only stay at value to save money. We luv to stay at Wilderness Lodge, never stayed there. Anyone have any suggestion? On the fence about calling and just talking to a CM have them price out the change with the pin if that is possible. HELP!!!!:scared::scared1::headache:

It was 10% on all the resorts.

Not as nice as other people have been receiving but its about $100 for us to put towards something else. At least until something better comes along :thumbsup2

I would certainly call and talk to a CM... they can price out any option you want to check out. That way you can have all the information you need to make a decision.

LOL!

I was playing on mousesavers last night and clicked through to David's. Anyone think renting DVC is the way to go? Unless FD comes out. Then I'd need a MYW package, right?
Nope, just book tickets separate and you can add dining if you want. They don't offer "packages" when you are DVC, every thing is sort of a la carte. YOu can add dining, but you must pay it the day you add it apparently. I have found booking tickets through UT the best bet. We were AP holders, which I guess is what a lot of DVC folks do, but ours expired and it doesn't make sense for us to get them right now (trying to have a baby later this year). So just park hoppers through UT for us. WE will be purchasing TIW instead of buying the dining plan.

I'm so jealous... I've still got a ways to go!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a restaurant for our Thanksgiving meal? I'm thinking we'll be in the Epcot or around the Boardwalk area that day, but we could go to HS for a meal and see the Osborne Lights.

I was playing with the idea of Garden Grill, because we've never been there. But 50's Prime Time seems like it would be a fun place for Thanksgiving dinner, too! Has anyone had any memorable Holiday dinners at WDW?
I was going to say GG too- seems like a good fit. Liberty Tree Tavern has a thanksgiving type meal already too! 50s might be fun!

I went through David's for my point rental, and they are very popular around the Disboards. They've been around a long time and are very reputable, so I didn't worry about it. I've seen my reservation confirmation on the Disney site since booking.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you buy your tickets from Undercover Tourist, you won't have the option of adding the dining plan. You'd have to get your tickets directly from Disney and add the dining plan. And maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe free dining is ever offered to DVC members. So if you rent points, you won't be able to take advantage of free dining.
I've only heard great things about David's. Free dining is not available to DVC members, unless you are staying in a regular room that is. If you are staying on points, whether renting or owning, no free dining.

My boss approved my TRIP!!!! YAY!!!!!! :yay::woohoo::banana::cool1:
yeah, that's great news!!!! :goodvibes

I've been looking at TP's touring plans today, and I'm wondering how much they will change when the FP time restrictions go into effect or when the new Fantasyland is complete. Guess that part of my planning will have wait until our dates get much closer.

DH bound the kids Epcot passports for me, and they look great! I finished their autograph books today, and DH is going to take those to work tomorrow to bind for me. I'm heading out early tomorrow to pick up some plain back packs so I can get them made this week. I have lots to get done this week!
So cool- you are so ahead of the rest of us! I'll be doing all that a month before or so probably. lol! :rotfl::thumbsup2

Congrats! Nice to see those PIN codes are still coming!

I have a question for split-stay vets about dining reservations.

The Swan & Dolphin have 180 day reservations, without the +10, so my plan has been to call in every day to schedule my ADR's once I get to the 180 day mark. Now I've added one night at a Disney resort to the front end. Will this allow me 180 +10 for my whole stay, or is it limited to the length of the stay with my DVC reservation?

Does anyone know if I'll be able to book all the way through, even if my reservation is only for one night?

We're finishing out at a Disney resort, too, so I know I'll have 180 + 10 for the second half of our trip. I've made our trip good and complicated for lots of planning fun!
hmmm, don't know on that one, i would guess that you will only be able to make for as long as your ressie, but who knows- that could be completely wrong. I say worth trying and seeing it if locks you out or lets you book- worth a try! good luck and let us know.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
Happy V day all! So sad, but i guess everything needs a refurb. WE love HDDR! We weren't planning it this trip though. I haven't tried the other shows. The luau is just not appealing to me and I haven't heard great things about it. We've done one in Hawaii, so we just sort don't care about doing it at Disney. I haven't tried the barbeque one, but that might be fun!!

RE: DVC and David's

On his site it says you don't need to get tickets to get dining. you can get them through UT and save that 120 dollars, and still get the dining.

Also, you are right... you can NEVER get free dining if renting DVC points.

Still, if you Rent the points and get the dining, and buy the tickets through UT, you will save a TON of money (if staying deluxe is your thing). Still cheaper for us to stay in a mod with everything. however, I'm really trying to get the family to buy into staying deluxe with the points. I'm willing to pay the extra 800 for deluxe.

Thanks for the advice. I going to call and then discuss with dh. He to get the best deal. I like more bang for the buck.

If anyone needs me I'll be at WDW Nov. 24 - Dec. 1 2012. This time I'll be checkin out Movies.

Ok, talked to a very helpful CM, answered all my questions and checked out what it the better deal. To move from Sports to Animal Kingdom Lodge the difference is only little over $850. Now I have to convence DH to let me upgrade. The kids have no idea they are going in Nov. They know they are going to Disney World sometime this year but don't know when. Keeping my fingers crossed SH says yes.

We got a pin in the mail yesterday:

"Experience the Magic in November and Save
When you purchase a 5-night/6-day Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package that includes accommodations and Theme Park tickets!
For example, stay at Select Disney Value Resorts
$475 per adult based on adult double occupancy in a standard room. For stays most nights 11/1/12-11/16/12 and 11/24/12-11/30/12.
That's a savings of 17%!"

We got one about a month ago for 10% off. Emailed our TA to find out if this new pin helps.

We're still hoping for FD, we've got 6 adults going on our trip this year and FD will help out tremendously.

Good morning everyone!!! I am so excited! I have been doin 'the coupon thing' and had my first BIG trip! I saved $508 and spent $25! NOW I am adding $75 to disney!!!!! Now to get a PIN...that would be great too!

Sorry for going OT:)

Good luck!!! Love AKL. And that difference isn't too terrible given it is a hop up from value to deluxe. Once DH stayed deluxe, he never wanted to go back. I don't mind the mods, i actually love POR. But after staying at AKL once, DH was like, why didn't we stay here before? :confused3:rotfl: Um, money! lol I think that is what convinced him to buy DVC, staying deluxe every time!
