NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

Has anyone ever used a Disney Visa Package code after already having a trip booked?

I booked my trip a while ago. I put a $200 deposit using my Dis Visa card, but all the payments I have made since were by check. I have less than 1/2 of my total balance left to pay.

If a code comes out for Dis Visa cardholders - do you have to pay for the WHOLE trip using the cc or can it just be a deposit? If so, do they mail me a check for the $2000 I already paid?

I want to be prepared for when the time comes!!!

Just curious, why would you pay it off by check instead of making payments with your Disney Visa and getting the Disney Rewards points?:confused3

I own a small business and put all business expenses only on it. I don't want to mix my personal and business spending. I found the easiest way to do this is limit the Dis Visa to business use only. The balance to pay off is high enough each month without adding anything else to it. Last year I reached my limit of how many reward points I could accrue!

Do the codes and discounts usually include the dates around Thanksgiving week? And how much of a discount is usually offered?

We have a room only reservation at Pop for Thanksgiving week with a AAA discount and I was wondering if the upcoming codes would have Thanksgiving week blacked out.

Thanks!

WE should be getting our rates in about 2 weeks time, if history holds true. :cool1:

Fingers are crossed, toes too. I have had some truly great discounts in the past, but after booking BC yesterday, I'm realizing my AAA savings was only 10% off rack! That's not even the tax for Pete's sake! I recall 4 years ago, I paid less than $200 for CY at the WL, and something like $249 forthe Poly with a room only code :(

Well I buckled under this rumor that ticket prices are going to go up. So I'm booking my trip full price this week.

I have always been able to apply the code for Thanksgiving week. I can not vouch for the weekend after since we always check out on Friday.

You can stilll get discounted tickets through Mousesavers from whatever inventory Undercover Tourist still have left.

I cannot do a package that way... It's ok... I'm only changing the fact that I never book my trip until the code comes out. I just don't have a partner to go with.

Okay, just to let people in this thread know, I did post this question in another thread on another disboard location, but looking for any answers so figured I'd post it here, too, as it is appropriate here, too. Hope that's okay. Many opinions are great!

Okay, I have a question now. I'm confused. I made my ressie on Sun evening. I wanted to do a room/ticket package, but also wanted to use my AAA for the discount, in case nothing else came along. But found out I can only do room only, not package. So, when he advised my of rising ticket prices soon, I bought my 10 day tickets then also and used the AAA on the room. He said I'd be able to apply a discount if one came out, not have to cancel. But, reading this thread has me confused and a bit worried. If a package discount does come out, will I be able to use it? Or will I have to buy another whole set of tickets with it? I'm afraid I may have jumped to buying the tickets too soon and may miss the package with tickets now. Can I cancel my ticket order to get a package discount with my room when it comes out? If the new ticket price isn't too bad, and the discount is good, is it worth it to cancel the tickets if they'll let my? Is the discount on a room only smaller than a discount on package of room/tickets? Or would they take my room ressie, take the AAA rate off and then combine the room with the tickets I've already bought? I'm very confused now. Maybe I shouldn't have made my ressie already now? I was just worried I might not end up with any room and I've had my air since late May.

So, did I mess up and do this wrong? Should I call and rebook full price, and now, with no AAA at this time, and before the expected ticket price increase this weekend? Would that be better to get a deal for the package if I had a room/tickets package already when the expected discounts come out in mid Aug or so? That was my plan in the first place in booking Sun night, but didn't realize couldn't do AAA for a package on my own. If no discount came out for my time, 11/14-23, though I'm feeling confident there will be, but if not, then could I take the package apart and put the AAA discount on my room only and put it back the way it is now? I'm just getting more confused seeing things like the quote above from this thread, and different posters from the other thread about ticket increases. Just makes me question and think I've probably done this the wrong way. Anyone have any thoughts or know what I should do? Btw, last yr I got a pin flyer in the mail in mid Aug. I didn't book till mid Sep and did a room/ticket package at that time, hadn't booked anything before that and it seemed pretty easy, this is getting a bit frazzling all of a sudden!

ticket price increase usually isn't that much, i'd say stick with what you have, 10% discount is better than nothing. You can't go backand apply AAA after the fact unless there is still AAA availability, which is highly unlikely after seeing what I did for November when I booked Sunday. I had a choice of BC or WL, no monorail at all.

Usually there is always a package discount and a room only discount. I'm not completely sure the answer to your question. I'd call WDW ressies back and ask them. But generally the room part of the package is what gets discounted, so you should be ok and not have to buy new tickets.

I'm new to the discussion boards! We are traveling to WDW December 4-7th of this year...what is "Jersey Week"? Can someone enlighten a FL girl?

Pretty much the entire state of NJ gets a week break, school wise. Luckily for you I believe it is in November, like when we are going :)

That week in Dec is POP Warner week not jersey week. The participates mostly start at All Star resorts and one of the moderate resorts. The parks aren't too bad during the day since they are at Wide World of Sports for activities. The kids travel in large groups in the parks at night.

This year Pop Warner week does not start until Dec 7th. :cool1:
