NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

or are they only specific ones?

Thanks!

I'm not totally sure of the answer to this question because I only stay at values... but I've heard that there could be no or extremely limit avail at WL and POFQ.

I just looked over at the Oct. 2008 code watch thread, and they are still waiting for their code also. I don't know if the code for Oct. and Nov. are the same (spread over the same dates) or if codes will come out late or at all, considering how much $$$ Disney is making now with the jump in stroller rentals.:rotfl: :thumbsup2

Last year was there just a Disney Visa code or was there another discount too for Nov? Debating on whether or not to re-apply for the DV. I cancelled it after last time. Just don't like having lines of credit open that I'm not using.

I've made reservations for 2 rooms at Coronado Springs for Nov 22-28 for my parents, my mom's sister, my DD6 and I. Really hoping for a discount code as this trip is a gift for my parents and aunt.....and the cost of 2 rooms, 5 park hopper tickets, Sea World tickets, airfare (my parents are paying for their airfare as well as my aunt's), etc, is really adding up.

Generally, most discounts spread a 3 month period. Oct, Nov, & Dec all have the same dsicount code for the time frame.

They generally offer a discount to Disney Visa first, then a couple days later to everyone else.

Just to let everyone know who doesn't already know, you will be waiting for the code until sometime in August.

so is the discount usually room only or on a package? Seems like this vacation has been nothing but a waiting game. Cant wait to get there

Could be for either or both.

This is what Mousesavers says for last year:
9/30 - 12/23 Package Discount Avail to Disney Visa - started 8/13
9/30 - 12/23 Package Discount Avail to Gen Public - started 8/16

There was another discount offered in September that was not as good as the discount in August.

So, if I book a room/tickets package then when the discount comes out (hopefully! :goodvibes ), then I can just apply it to my package I already have, right? I don't have to cancel and rebook? I'm getting confused on when they totally cancel and rebook, and when they just apply the discount to your ressie you already have as I haven't done that before. Anyone know for sure?

Also, someone mentioned buying tickets with their room because they like it on the kttw card.(at least I think it was this thread, I'm doing this in a hurry, and now I'm not sure :goodvibes ) I like it that way, too. I have asked that question on the disboard several times and everyone has said that they can put your tickets onto your card when you check in, so just give them the tickets from undercover or whereeverwhere you got them and they'll put them on your card so you only have one card. Awesome! Anyway, I now will probably just buy the tickets/room package like I did last yr, got a great deal, instead of waiting for the room only deal to come out as it came out later.

Btw, I just now received an email code, not the one I want, but... from Disneyrewards and it's a disney visa code for many nights, not all, between Aug 16 and Sep 27, and you must book by Aug 10. For example, it uses CBR in the ad, where I would stay, and it's $99 nite, for 2 adults in a room, and you must pay deposit at time of booking with your disney visa card. That's really a good rate! I am hoping that when the Nov rates come out, it covers my dates. This particular discount does block some dates. Last yr, the dates for Nov ran from oct sometime thru Dec w/o blocked dates in between. Sorry if this has been mentioned already! :)

Also, does anyone know, what about getting second disney visa card? Will they let you do that? I think they have 12 months at 0% now for the intro rate, which I just missed when I got my card! Mine is 6 months I think. Then maybe I could put the trip only on the one card and the other would be to build up the rewards. The total for the rewards should be the same with one card or two cards, and I'd have two cards to get the limit of $750. as year, not that I'd ever really come close to that anyway, but.. I thought I read somebody had two cards. I do have another chase visa card I've had since 1990 but I don't want to use that anymore.
Thanks for any answers, and to the posters who answered my last bunch of questions! :thumbsup2

well now I'm ok waiting. I still need to payoff my airfare tickets i charged on my disney visa. Then i can charge my trip. Thank goodness someone mentioned that monthly payment are first made to trips so the other charges on disney visa would be charge finance charges. I should pay off my card by the end of august. I actually have until Oct to pay it off without fian charges but If i wanna charge trip i need to pay if off.

I hope when codes or deals do come out they were worth waiting for

You cannot always apply a discount code to your existing room or package. You can only do this if there is "space" left at that resort under that discount. I know the WL generally has little avail if any when it comes to discount codes. So if you book WL now, and a code comes out you may not be able to get your room with a code.

Before I knew that discount codes existed, I had booked Pop Century for 2004, standard room. When the code came out and I discovered it, I went to add it to my room that I had. I couldn't. They had no standard rooms left. I either had to move to an AllStar or upgrade to a preferred room.

I don't understand this "cancel and rebook" stuff. From what I know you can call and change your vacation info anytime up until 45 days without having a penalty fee. And I don't belive making changes is "cancel and rebooking."

We are currently booked thru AAA at Pop, I hope there will be an AP code but if not we do atleast have a room booked.

Not going this November.......November 2009......but I wanted to get a feel for what sort of PIN is offered this time of year.

Went in January 2008 and got a great deal on a Magic Your Way Delux Dining package. Hoping the fall will prove to be a great deal too.

:)

We are going in Nov over thanksgiving week. Our dates are Nov 23-Nov29th. We are very excited as it has been two years for us. We are staying at PORFQ. Which my husband thinks it just plain silly since we live in New Orleans already. But dont worry ladies and gents I have a plan. I am going to find some cool nooks in the hotel and hopefully get our Christmas card photo.:woohoo:

Thanks for answering! So, another question! :goodvibes If I stay on top of this, and get the code as soon as it's released at mousesavers, what do you think are the chances of something being available at CBR? Last yr I got my snail mail notice, I thought in Aug but not sure, didn't book til almost mid Sep and had no problem getting a room. Hmmm. This yr I plan on calling as soon as I see it and I know what to look for and have a couple day jump with the disney visa hopefully. I think I have a good chance of getting a room, don't you think? I mean there should be something when they first start and at a mod. resort.

All this waiting and thinking about discounts and what will or won't happen is driving my crazy!
