NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

I love your post. I'm a new subscriber and so excited about going in Nov. We are booked for the POLY and it's a dream come true for us. We've only stayed at moderate in the past and enjoyed them. I've heard wonderful things about the POLY. The only reason we can stay there is because I won a gift card from my company and we are using it toward our trip to Disney. Yaaahoooo!!! We originally won a trip to Hawaii but we had a baby the week before we were suppose to fly out, so they gave me a gift card instead. Can't wait to get back to the Magic!!! We will be there 11/29 - 12/6. Really hoping for a code to offset the out of pocket costs. :)

I am going from 11/21 - 11/28. What kind of discounts have they had in the past during this time?

I read on Mousesavers that in mid Aug. each year a Disney Cardholders discount comes out for Your/my dates. I don't know what the discount is, but if it is 20% or so that would be great and more than the 15% discount I have booked through AAA.:thumbsup2

Going to the Poly 11/8 thru 11/19, looking for anything.
Hope to meet some fellow Disers too.!!!

1. Hi! The last 2 yrs we went the second week of Nov for 10 days and will again this year! :yay: I hate the heat and humidity so I love this time of yr. It was low 70's to low 80's (at the most) when we were there. Actually, it cold have been a bit more balmy some days but... anyway, the weather was great both years. Nothing more than a sprinkle of rain. Now, some evenings in '07 were definitely cold, and one day was a big cold front and it got no higher than 60 daytime and windy! But, heat and humidity were not a problem either yr. :cool2:

2. These days it's just my DD17 and I and we love going this time of yr, crowds are great. :thumbsup2 We go for super soap weekend at hollywood studios, so for that weekend, 2nd of Nov, it is crowded at that park. Food and Wine Festival closes that same weekend at Epcot so that is probably pretty busy. Then we stay the week after and crowds are fairly low. Not too much wait time for attractions, often walk on or maybe 10-15 min wait, so that is great! And it's great cause you don't have to try to manuever around tons of people in crowded parks. The weekend is more crowded though, and weekend before Thanksgiving and the week of is very crowded. We were almost glad to be leaving then! Can't stand too much crowds and waiting 45 - 60 min for an attraction is so not for us! But, after that weekend after Thanksgiving things do drop off again for a couple weeks until Xmas week.

Another thing we love about that time is the MVMCP(Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party) at MK. The last 2 yrs they started the Monday after we arrived and we had a great time! We thought the mon. party was not crowded at all and we just walked on rides we wanted for the most part. A couple things are closed but I don't know which cause everthing we wanted was open! We also went Fri and that was a bit more crowded but not still not terrible. We went to the park after 4, using our party ticket and stayed till close at midnight. The parties are 3 nights a week then, like Mon, Th and Fri, I think. We love the xmas party and the fun holiday atmosphere then. Plus, the Osbourne family xmas lights open that week at DHS and love those too!:santa:

3. The last few yrs they sent out a code in Mid Aug I think for that time. Last yr it saved us about $600 for a mod. room at CBR and 2 hoppers for 10 days!! I was shocked actually when I called, I'd always booked seperately thinking, stupidly, that the packages would cost more and not be cost effective. What was I thinking? :rotfl: You can go to Mousesavers.com and check, they have a listing there of the deals that have been released in past years, what they were and when they were for. I expect they will put one out this yr too. Plus, if you have AAA, you can usually get a discount 10 - 20% if all else fails. Try calling to see if there is a code attached to your name every so often too, you never know! :wizard:

4. You should probably go ahead and book now if you can so you get the resort you want. Then, when a code or discount comes out you can apply it to your existing reservations! Also, make your ADR(advance dining reservations) when you can, starting at 180 days out from your dates. I usually haven't done that myself and I've still been okay, sometimes with walkups or ressies on the end of the available times which is okay for us. We are more late night people anyway, so late breakfast or brunch works well for us as well as late dinners. So, we did okay with 2 month ADR timing but you may definitely want to get better times good for your family asap and then not worry about that. popcorn:: Oh, and try not to overplan every minute. Be aware of the park schedules, such at EMH (extra magic hours), MVMCP(get tickets for this if you want to go), parade times, park opening and closing times, etc. But don't plan every second. Leave time for spontenaity, or changes that come up, or w.e. :goodvibes

Oh yeah, and plan on having a great time!! :cool1:

P.s. sorry to be so wordy, but hopefully there is some info in there you can use!

Thank You so much we are so excited to go.

I just received a 20% off code via e-mail today :cool1: :cool1: The best news is that it coincides with a planned conference and free airfare that I got earlier this year :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Life is good :flower3:

We did too. My mom received an email with a 20% off code and we were able to apply it to our Nov. 10-15 stay at the Poly. Saved me $450!! :cool1:

I'm subscribing to this one! We are booked Nov 20-27th and are hoping for a code to save us some money!

I bought our airline tickets tonight thanks to a great Airtran sale...YAY!

Good question. I would also like to know. Any chance of reasonably priced airplane tickets too??

Do you have Airtran near you? If so, they have a good sale going on for that time period.

We are flying home from WDW on Thanksgiving for $54...our RT for each person is $150 including all taxes and fees...can't beat that! We paid $250pp RT the last time we flew!

Subscribing! Went last November (2007) and received a code for a discount of about $600 at the Beach Club. We hope to go again this year from 11/8-11/15. :yay:

How did you get this code?

I'm going first week of November and read on here it is "Jersey Week"-what is that? Maybe I should reschedule in October????

is airtran secure? I thought it was one that had problems. I guess i'm wrong. I'mm gonna look into it. Hopfully is doesnt have a high fee to change dates if needed. Anyone know which airline has low fee for ressie changes?

Don't worry about "Jersey Week." I'm from New York State and always make our trips to WDW the first or second weeks of November. The crowds are not too bad. It's better then summer, when all schools are closed.:surfweb:

We'll be there Nov. 24-30th. Right now we're booked at ASMO, but we're probably changing to Pop since that's where our friends will be staying (28 of us total).

Unfortunately/Fortunately, due to finding out my wife is pregnant, we will not be able to join my parents and sisters on our November Disney week. (which is already booked)
My dad had a 40% off discount at Beach CLub that we all booked under
My wife and I are thinking of going 3-4 months later now (early 2008)
Will we be able to carry our discount over?

All in all, the best reason to cancel a Disney trip

I received a 20% code too! :cool1:

I have a question, though. I know that for free dining, you get the discount for you entire vacation as long as you check in by the last day of the deal. Does anyone know if this applies to these room only discounts as well??

Our current vacation dates are 10/30 to 11/4, but my 20% dates are only 10/19 through 11/1 (and then later dates in Nov). Will I be able to get the discount for my whole stay, or just through the 1st?

Thanks!

Forgive me for repeating a question, but where exactly do you get the code from? We've booked a vacation w/ disney prior and I also have the Rewards Visa. Am I just not getting it?

HABG1--

If I am understanding it right-- the "code" from WDW comes to you in either email or postcard and is VERY random in terms of who gets them when.

The Disney Visa code (I think comes via email) and comes about 3 months prior to the date they are available-- ie-- for our November trip we would get one in August.

hope this helps!
jen
