NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

Just booked POR, garden view for Nov 1-8, 8 day park hopper, DDP thru AAA. Total came to $3,421.03 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Now to plan for the next 12 months:woohoo:

I joined the Nov. 07 codewatch about this time last year. It seemed so far ahead, and now it is 7 days until my Thanksgiving trip!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: The codes saved me $339 for 3 (me, ds10, dd8) at a value resort (had to switch from Pop to Sports), for 6 nights and the dining plan. I found out about the codes from the thread early the morning they came out, before any other announcements were made. I could have booked a moderate for $3 more than a value at original price, but went with the savings instead.

I'm hoping to take another trip next Thanksgiving with my sister and nephew. I'm hoping the codes are as good!

Just got back at the end of October, but yeah I'll be going back November 2008. I had an offer for up to 30% off my next trip in my room, but the dates I wanted in November 2008 didn't match what they were offering and it was room only, I like package deals. So now I'm looking forward to a great code like I used this year.

I'd like to book to go hit the end of F&W festival and be there to see the Christmas decorations and Osborne lights. Does Nov7-14th seem like a good time for that?

I just got back Weds night and can't wait to go back . :goodvibes :lmao:

We are planning for November 8-15, 2008. Can you use a code after you've booked? Just call and change? I'd also be interested to know if the Christmas decorations are up in November. I hear they are just phenomenal!

Planning to stay at ASM with dining. This is the plan we used the last time we went and it was great. I didn't have to worry about a thing. :goodvibes

So who all here is planning on doing the DDP even with the changes made too it? We are still trying to tally things up to see if it will be better for us to do it or not. Just have a few more menus to look over to see if its gonna pay off doing it.

We did the same calculations, and found that the DDP would COST us about $100 when I calculated what restaurants I was planning on eating at. I'm hoping that if any code comes out it's for a reduction of the room rate because the DDP just holds no interest to me (although I guess if it were free that would be a different story because there would be a significant savings at that point  ). Oh well, we can only wait and watch.

I booked with the dining plan. I'm not too happy about the changes but once we are there I would rather have most of the dining paid for. 2 of my 3 kids going with us are big eaters and can out eat me, so its worth it to me. I don't know if its saving us anything, but easier for us.

Yes to everything! I booked my trip (2 days:cool1: to go!) before Christmas last year and had the code applied when they came out. The Christmas stuff starts before Thanksgiving, so the decorations are up. I can't wait! We'll be doing MVMCP, seeing the Christmas parades in AK and MGM, and touring resorts (while eating there) to see the decorations!

does anyone know what the crowds are like from Oct 31-till like Nov 10??? I think that is when we will have to go next time (which means I will lose free dining-but at least I will get MNSSHP!!)

It'll vary...there's a few things to keep in mind during that period.
1) Halloween
2) The soap weekend was about that time this year
3) NJ schools are out usually the first Thu and Fri of November...thus Disney's "Jersey Week", which picks the crowds up.

Being that the basic DDP is only $37 and some change for each person/each day, it will still save money to use it. Heck, one meal is counter service and you don't tip there anyway. Without the DDP, I can't feed a family of 6, each person, each day for that money. Plus I don't want to have to think that hard on vacation. :rotfl: I'll use it for the ease and I believe it's saving me money.

Thank you for your help and WOO HOO! 2 days to go! Have a fantastic trip! :cheer2:

I plan to just steer clear of MGM when we arrive next year. We're planning for the 8-15 and Soap Weekend will probably be there.

We are scheduled for bounceback free dining next September, but will keep an eye out, would rather go in November if we can get a good rate!

LOL, thats what I'm thinking with my family of 5. Plus DH says to just do it and so I'm thinking while he is saying that I better take him up on it.;)

Hi,
Does anyone know what the blackout dates were from this years codes?? We are planning a Nov. '08 trip; 3 nights at CR & 4 nights on a cruise.

We are looking at staying at the CR from 11/27 (Thanksgiving Day) - 11/30 & then start our cruise.

I was wondering if you think those days will be blacked our from the potential codes due to Thanksgiving?? Does anyone know if Thanksgiving was blacked out this year??

TIA!!
