November 2006 Code/Rate Watch

CAlled AAA today and got the Disney Visa code applied to our November trip and saved $255.

BT's "Let's Finagle Info Out of the CM's Call Number 2"

Today's CM: Titania. Very nice, very direct, I like that a lot.

Today's opening question: I have an existing package reservation for 11/3-11/11. I understand that there have been several discount codes granted recently including a Visa code that is rumored to be available to the general public soon. I was wondering if that code has been made available to the general public today?

(Lots of silence on Titania's end) she asks :Are you a Disney Visa cardholder?

Me: No, I am not. (Lots of silence) Would it be helpful if I gave you the Visa discount code or my reservation number?

(Silence again. Titania, speaking in such a way that by now I know there's some info available that I'm going to have to directly state and she cannot volunteer.) Yes, could I have the code that you are referring to please?

I give her code ZBD.

Her: Hold on a minute please.

(On hold for about 5 minutes. Grooving to Can you feel the love tonight.)

(Titania returns) I am afraid you cannot use that particular code at this time.

Me: Is there a variant of the code that I should be aware of as the general public that I might find online? (Longshot, I know they can't volunteer this)

Her, much faster: Not that I am aware of.

So: Yesterday I was given the roundabout info that we would know new code info by 8/17 and sure enough new codes were announced on 8/16. Today I know that there is something up with the codes, in particular the Visa code, in conjunction with the GP, most likely. This would verify the current spotty info and past history that the code would possibly become GP. The CM definitely had one of those "I am stating these very exact words because there is something that I cannot say" tone to her voice.

I'll call back if I think of some more direct questions that might get us more info that I know they can answer.

LOL. You crack me up! Keep up your detective work! I'm obviously checking this thread like a hawk...

I called today and saved $547 on 9 nights at AKL! :cool1: I asked her to check WL but she said there was nothing available there with an AP discount.

I am so confused what I need to do, once the code comes out.

I made a reservation back in the day, online for Nov1-9 at POP. (I actually need to book the night of Oct 31 too, not sure if this changes anything). It is paid in full. No discount.

So it looks like this ZBD code *might* acutally be the code tomorrow. What do I do? I'm assuming I'd call 407 WDISNEY, but then what.

Thank you SO much,
Amy

Ask them if they can apply code "XXX" (whatever it is) to your existing package. If they can, they will credit your credit card back the discounted amount.

And if they can't, ask if that is the wrong code for the general public. if they say "yes" to that, then chances are there's a different code out there for the GP's. :)

You think you might be overthinking it, mama? I'm sitting here working on every arrangement of the English language I can to state questions in such a way that the CM's can answer it without getting in trouble! if I knew Spanish I'd be doing that too! :lmao:

I just got off the phone with CM. Just told them I wanted to apply code ZBD to my current reservation. She proceeded>>>>OK that will bring your total down to $2386.48. Im thinking :cool1: she says ok now I need your Disney visa to apply the 200.00 deposit. I say " O sorry didnt realize I needed a Disney Visa."
She said for the first 2 days of the promotion, it has to be done with the Visa, then starting the 17th, anyone can use it. I asked to make sure it will be the same code and she confirmed yes it would be. Just call back in the morning. :woohoo:
Oh yeah I also asked if I could use my sisters Visa since I did not have one, she said yes. :Pinkbounc I did not know you could do that, so just thought I would pass that on to any one who may know someone who has one.
By the way we are at POR 11/18-11/24, 6 day park hoppers and dining plan, 2 adults, dd9, dd2 and nephew 17.

Thankfully my TA is a fellow diser. she said she will call them at 7EST from her house to see about applying the code tomorrow.

:wave2: Hello BlindTyldak from a fellow SoDak! How far are you from Brookings?

Has anyone been able to get the Poly with the AP discount for November?? Everytime I see an AP discount on deluxes it's always YC/BC/BWI, so we might have to switch if we can't get the discount on the Poly (not worth $320 a night IMO).

About a half hour, just up in Watertown! You're the first Sowdacodan I've met here! :cheer2: Edit: Holy cow, we're going a day apart! Where are you flying out of?

And car1971: WOOHOO! Exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you! *sets alarm for 5:30 Central*

Oy! So here's my question: Is it assumed that only the Disney Visa package code will be available to the general public tomorrow or do we think that the AP code for room only will also be available.

I am so confused. :confused3 But of course I too will be up with the roosters to give a call and find out. With my luck I will be on hold for an hour just to get a CM that will have no idea what I am talking about. :rotfl2:

I got the Poly 11/18 - 11/25 AP disc $325 per night.

I could not get any AP discount at the WL today. There weren't any I was told. I even asked if they had a suite that I could apply it to. I was told that they are completely booked. :sad1:

Woo!! The codes for the general public are up on mousesavers!!

http://www.mousesavers.com/packages.html#specialfall

I called up and saved $441 on my POR trip for 11/24-12/1 w/ dining!!!

The CM knew nothing about the code and she was really shocked when she saw how much I saved. I inquired about upgrading to the Polynesian and she said that there were no more rooms avaiable for that code there... Oh well, I'm happy with my savings! I'm curious to see if others manage to get the Polynesian with this discount though...

How did everyone else do with trying out the new codes?

I just saved $624.94 w/Code ZBC!!! I added one more night, downgraded from preferred to standard for 9 nights at POP. Holy crap!! I was hoping for $200-300 :cool1: I originally used code ZBD, and it added dining onto the package for $30 more than I originally paid.

My mother in-law booked our rooms for the 2nd week in Novemember and she lives in Florida but did NOT use a Disney Visa, any chance that she may be able to get a discount of some sort as well? We booked the new suites at Music
