November 2006 Code/Rate Watch

Woo Hoo! :thumbsup2

Chandler from CRO just made my Zippidy-do-dah DAY!!!!! We have a reservation for MYW for 11/20-11/28 at the BC and with the new discount we are saving close to $900!!!

I am just way too excited now! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

It's so nice to see so many happy people around here today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  :cheer2: :cheer2:

I hope to be joining all of you within a couple of days when/if the code is announced for everyone else.

For those who are not DV cardholders, I'm going to call CRO as soon as they open on Thursday and check on the public codes. As soon as I know I'll post it here.

And I'll probably call back once a half hour until I know for sure. ;)

*crosses fingers to upgrade for close to what we are paying now*

:cool1: I just saved $504 for our upcoming trip. We'll be there Nov 17-25 - 8 nights with 9 day park hoppers and dining for two adults and two kids was $3131.18 now it is $2627.18. I almost wet myself when she told me the savings. :cloud9: Now I can go and buy me some school clothes!!! :teacher:

What resort are you staying at?

Same code - I gave them "ZBD" as listed on mousesavers website. I didn't get the details from AAA just the package total, same with Disney. I only called Disney because I wasn't sure the AAA agent did it correctly - she seemed confused that there was a discount. And after seeing all the savings on the boards, I thought my price might be lower if I called Disney. I was surprised, but I am not going to question it(I already had the AAA package booked and checked the details.

J/J

In all seriousness though, my DD13 spilled a drink all over my laptop with all of my pertinent WDW info on our upcoming trip. :furious: (yes, she is still alive) :lmao: So now if a code comes out I will have to figure out all over again if I should upgrade or take the discount. :teacher:

KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN

Just got off the phone with Skeeter (I swear he said Skeeter, though it could have been Peter) at CRO. I asked him if someone called at 7 AM on 8/17, would Disney be able to tell us if a code was issued and be able to apply it for the general public, or would we have to wait and figure out what it was and then call in. He said you would have to wait until the code was released. I asked if they would be able to tell us if a code was released (thus putting us DISers into web search overdrive, hehe). He said "you will know what the code is before the 17th, it will appear on several websites".

SO, be on the lookout, it could pop up at any time between now and the 17th apparently.

Edit: and if we don't know, I'm still calling the morning of the 17th, and I'll ask if we can use the Visa codes for the general public at that time. Maybe that's what he meant. :)

01sweetpea, we will be at Carribean Beach. This is our second time staying on Disney Property. We were at POR last summer and we just loved it there, but we wanted to try something new. :sunny:

You are SO GREAT for being on top of this!! Please share with us the minute you know anything!! Thank you!

I just tried calling but they said their computers were down until 7pm EST. Bummer. So, I'll call back then. I also really appreciate you all being on top of the general public code. My mom and sister could really use that. :)

I do not have a Disney Visa, so should I wait the two days or so when it is open to the public, or try to apply quickly for the Visa? I am not sure how fast you could use the card once you apply??

Got my card in less than 4 days...

DISNEYNEWBEE: Maybe it is the pricing season? I got prices for my trip arriving on the last day of reg. season and it was a savings of $480 over what i was paying. Then I got a price for arriving the 1st day of value season and the savings was much smaller. I was only a savings of $203 over what I had priced out before the code came out. So maybe your season has something to do with it. I was looking at checking in on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend or on Sunday Value VS Regular season. Since planning this trip it has been much cheaper to check in on Sunday but now with this code it worked out better to check in on Saturday! Yes I will be paying $189 more to check in a day earlier but i will be getting a room for that one extra night and dining for an extra day so it just made sense to me!

I think your right. Since I'm checking in value the rates are lower so the discounts lower. That is one of the things I was thinking but it seemed like a big difference in discount although 340 is nothing to sneeze at. :cool1: Thanks

I have a 4-part reservation (only 1-part is package with dining) booked through AAA with 2 rooms with 2 consecutive reservations because of the rate change. When my AAA agent called yesterday to apply the discount, Disney told her that the ones held for AAA were all gone. I don't want to cancel and re-book because of my unique reservation.

Has everyone who booked with the Visa code have more than a 1-day base ticket on their package and does that make any difference in the savings?

Here's hoping she can apply a discount when they come out the 17th!!

Hooray!!! AP Discounts just came out for 10-1 through 12/23. :woohoo: What a wonderful day this has been!! :woohoo:

This is what's written on the Dis discount page about the visa code:

"For bookings now thru 8/16, an immediate deposit is required. (This will not be necessary starting on the 17th.) All guests on the reservation must have the same Magic Your Way ticket and your Disney Visa must be used to pay for your reservation. "

Here's the link: http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-current.htm#visa (either click on the visa discount link at the top, or scroll down)

If I'm reading that correctly it looks like tomorrow we'll be able to use the same code, just without having to make a deposit with a disney visa. Does that sound right? I'm going to call up first thing in the morning and try it out!!

I just booked. 4 nights at the Pop, dining plan, 3 day park passes with hopper. Total of $1575.16. With the discount, it came to $1349.16. So, that's a savings of $226. :)

I think it's definitely worth trying, from the wording of it. I might even try calling late tonight after the AP rush has died down and ask them if we're interpretting that correctly. It COULD mean that no deposit is required but that you need to pay it off on your Disney Visa still. :confused3

Either way I'm on the phone at 6 AM and just saying I want the publically available code savings and seeing what they do. ;)

Just called and changed my AAA concierge AKL ressie to an AP and saved an additional $30 per night! That's a total of $80 a night off the rack rate! It will pay for a special safari tour!

i saved at grand total of 31.00 dollars on my ressie.
