November 2006 Code/Rate Watch

Hey guys...

I hate to sound stupid, and I hope you'll forgive me for not using the search button to conduct a full scale investigation, but can somebody tell me where I can sign up to receive the discount codes when they come out?

My girlfriend has a hectic school schedule and can only get time off in November. She was one of those unfortunate people who never had the opportunity to see Disney as a child (she's now in her mid 20's) and so i've been trying to make it happen (Being the wonderful boyfriend that i am ). Unfortunately my budget is tight so i'm trying to do this for as cheap as possible.

I've read through a lot of the tips (This site is such an amazing resource) and I'm really excited about introducing her to the magic that is Disney. I just hope you guys would be kind enough to point me in the right direction for even more savings. Thanks guys.

Between mousesavers and this board you'll know about codes before Disney CM's do Honestly, the chatter will start a day or two before they are released.

If you know your dates you can always go ahead and make your reservation now so you at least have the room. If you make your reservation through a Disney specialist agency like Dreams Unlimited they will monitor for you and apply any codes that are available to you when they are released.

I didn't even know about mousesavers or Dreams unlimited. I'll definitely have to keep my eyes open and do a little bit more research. I wanna have the trip booked by next week at the latest.

Also, if you haven't bought tickets yet and are planning on buying them seperately, sign up for the free newsletter at mousesavers.com. They send one out on the 15th of every month and usually include codes to buy park tickets (base, hopper, non-expiration, etc.) at reputable ticket sellers online. With the code I saved about $14 per ticket off of gate price (and price at the Disney Store) even with shipping of the tickets.

It looks like the end of August to the end of September is when codes are released - if any.

I didn't even think of them coming out the end of August. I will be in WDW 8/25-8/31. I'm going to be really upset if they come out and I miss getting to upgrade my room for November. Oh well, I can't complain to much I'll be in WDW!

Have there been codes/discounts offered for November Thanksgiving week in past? We're not going until 11-07 = too long to wait!
Should be interesting to see what they offer this year.

I would strongly doubt that they'll offer free dining during this time. It's not a quiet time of year for them. I think that in the past they offered room discounts and I believe that the days surrounding Thanksgiving were blacked out. CSR was our first choice - it looks really pretty. We're staying at POP to save some money. If some codes come out, I'm going to ask DH if he wants to upgrade to CSR as that was his first choice after he looked at all the values and moderates. He never even bothered looking at the deluxes.

Sometimes Disney sends out postcards or emails with "pin" numbers on them that can be used by the recipient only. These pin numbers have a discount associated with them. I have gotten them several times in the past, but since I'm on the West Coast, a trip to Florida takes a lot of time and planning.
I've heard of people calling Disney and checking to see if there is a pin number on file with their name. Not sure if anyone has been successful, but its worth a try for the discount.

I know what you mean 01Sweetpea. I called 100 days out for ADR for the week of 11/18-11/25 and I got the times I wanted except for Turkey Day. We are eating at the Crystal Palace for Dinner @ 9pm. That's late for us to eat but that was the ONLY time the had open. The rep I spoke to said everything was filling up quick @ all rest. Anyone who hasn't booked ADRs yet get busy before everything is taken.
