November 2 on the 4 day Wonder!

Wow, luvalldisney, there were 2 other people at work with the same birthday too!! Only they are not going on the cruise!! I'm a little foggy this morning (could it have been the wine at dinner? :rolleyes1 ) but it was a lovely meal with my family.

We also got our docs yesterday only my mom wasn't on them! :scared1: They told me another set is coming today.

It's getting closer and closer. I am so excited!!!! :yay:

Thanks everyone for the b-day wishes. I can't wait for the cruise, but I have so much to do in the meantime!!! I have a fe to make, gifts to buy, grades to finish, a conference to attend, jury duty and lessons for the 3 days I will not be in school.....:confused3 wow, so much to do, but I will get it done!!!! doing the doc dance:dance3: and cheer:cheer2: Can't wait to go!!!!!!

Jennyriver - I've been thinking about your DH and not so Disney. There are a series of books written by the Imaingeers for each park. They talk about design from concept to going live. They give an interesting perspective of things. They are small paperback books titled An Imgineering Guide to [fill in the park name]. We found them intersting. Perhaps that might give him a different look at Disney. Just want to help make your trip fantastic!!

thank you for this :goodvibes i can't say i think he'll take the time to read these, but he HAS been very open to listening to things i read at night in bed and watching some of the Disney programs (from Travel Channel and the Disney DVD's). basically, he's going along with the whole trip because he knows how much DD will enjoy it and realizes other trips he'd rather take right now (national parks, etc) aren't very practical w/a 4yr old. and honestly, nothing makes him happier than seeing her happy. in fact, last year, before i ever started looking into dates/prices, DD was mentioning she wanted to go on a Disney Cruise (those promos on TV work!) and i caught DH actually looking prices up online ;) he has also talked to other dads he knows and likes and they've all told him what great times they've had at WDW...so while i know this isn't his dream vacation, and he likes to (good naturedly) grumble about it, i know he'll be fine and probably have a great time.

Ha ha ha same thing my not so DBIL did and he had a great time!!! Deep down your DH is looking forward to it. Yup that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Kayla's first trip was when she was 4. All her grandparents were with us too. We loved watching them watch her. My dad was especially fun to watch, he just beamed. It last the last trip my dad took with us. :sad1:

Hey 21 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH definitely needs a vacation, so i know he'll enjoy this, no matter what!

which brings me to a question i posted on the cruise forum, but if anyone here knows, i'd love advice! basically, we got our room assignment and according to the wdwinfo website reviews, it's a noisy room. DH has had some recent surgery and already has a tough time sleeping, so i'm worried about this room. i asked our TA about moving down the hall a bit or someplace quieter and she said our category (12) is sold out, and to move we'd have to pay to upgrade. that's not really something we'd like to do and honestly, from other reviews i've read, our category and deck (#2) are just fine...but i guess if there's no where else ot move to within it, we're out of luck. but does anyone know if we can possibly be moved or upgraded when we check in? is that the only time we can try for a change?

:wizard: A couple of cruises ago we got a "noisy" room. Ours was only noisy when they raised or lowered the anchor / tie ropes. So we were bounced around a little when we left or arrived into port. The only time it was a problem was when we returned to Port Canaveral (and the evening we were trying to dress for dinner and couldn't understand why the room was moving and we were still in port....thought we had too much to drink!). Of course we were unhappy about leaving the ship, and that extra alarm was something we did not want. If you think it will be too noisy to sleep bring along some ear plugs. They are available at all drug stores, Target, Walmart, KMart etc. I :cheer2: always carry ear plugs with me because I snore and this way my roomies get a good night sleep. At this time, you may not be able to upgrade or change rooms. Of course, when you get to the port you may try and see if they have anything available. But $4 for ear plugs vs a couple hundred dollars to move makes my decision for me! Good luck, at what ever you decide!: pixiedust:

Are there no more brave souls out there who are going to follow Lisa's great suggestion and post pics of themselves?

DisneyDawg,
We stayed at the Poly 6 years ago and we can't wait to go back!:cool1:

How nice to have a trip all by yourselves! Enjoy and know that if you ever miss your kids too much, you could always borrow mine! :rotfl:

I just want to check and see if anyone below is participating in the fish extender gifts?

cindywith2boys,
LOL! what a hoot you are!
We are so excited about having a trip alone but I am sure it will be an adjustment. We feel a little guilty about not taking them along, but wow! this will be cool!
We love Poly, I just wish we could be surprised with a park view upgrade, but I won't get my hopes up cause we don't usually "win" stuff. Can you believe the trip is only 16 days away!! Yippeeeeeeeeeee!

Karen, are we just going to pick our choice of the t-shirt designs and make it up or are we supposed to vote for one or the other? I was hoping on making ours up this weekend so I just wanted to know. Thanks.

You choose. The message is the same, just depends on your preference!! We are getting ours done this weekend.

Been thinking of stuff we need to do before we leave. We are busy every weekend with the play, so we need to plan our weeks real good. :scared1:

Okay, I am sure this has been asked b4, but could all of you DCL veterans help me out here? I have asked 4 different AT&T employees about using our Blackberry while on the ship and at ports and have gotten different answers each time! Since we will be sans kids on this trip, we would like to be able to tell them good night and if that is not possible, at least be available for emergency calls. We have been told that we need to shut down the phone completely as long as we are on the boat b/c any text or email that comes in (whether we open it or not) would be charged an unbelievable rate, but if we add the international plan, when at ports we could talk unlimited. Then another rep says that is not true that we would still be charged around .56 cents/minute even with the plan and the cruise line may be cheaper. Does anyone know what the real answer is? I have read DCL books regarding this and they say to ask our carrier, but that is like hitting my head against a wall!!:headache: Any help would be appreciated!!

The only thing I can tell you is that 2 years ago my dd went on an all girls dcl cruise. She called me from the ship, after it docked on the day the ship returned to the port. Cingular charged her for an international call and it cost more than $20. Even though she could prove the ship was at the dock in Port Canaveral, cingular refused to change the charge. Now we turn off all of our phones when we get on board and we don't turn them back on until we are back at port canavaral on dry land. It just saves us hassle. You may want to look into the internet on the cruise ship and pass on messages this way as the cost would be less than spending an international fee. Good luck! (can you get any at& t person to give you an answer in writing?)

I have also been getting the run around from my cell provider. I am with Virgin Mobile and my service plan doesn't include any service in the US. They sent me back and forth between Virgin Canada and Virgin USA with each telling me the other could help me. They finally told me that my best bet would be to get a cheap prepaid phone from VMUSA but when I tried to order they told me that they don't ship to Canada so I am back at square one!:confused3

Ok boys and girls the time is getting CLOSER!!!!

Tip for the day ...
Pre-print on mailing address labels, your last name, your stateroom followed by a line of a line. Like this:

Abbatiello 8078
_______ of _______

This will save you time when getting your luggage together to disembark. This way you don't have to write out a tag for each piece of luggage. Just stick and tag. I don't mean to talk about leaving before we get there, but every little bit of time saving helps, especially on a short cruise!

Any one else want to share a tip, please do!! Ok we're off to the theater.

Lisa show is the planning coming??

Hey everyone! We're heading to the World in 3 days, and will be spending the rest of my free time packing! I just wanted to wish you all Bon Voyage and hope you have a wonderful cruise. It would be much better if I was on the ship with you  but we'll still be having the vacation of a lifetime. We'll actually be in Cocoa Beach on Saturday before the cruise since we had already booked a room, so maybe we'll see you headed out on Sunday!
