November 19, 2009 3-day Wonder Cruise

I am still debating weather or not I am going to play bingo on the ship. Someone from my last FE exchange came away with a almost $4000.00 jackpot. :scared1:

Kent says I become this possessed person on a cruise ship when it comes to bingo:scared1: I have never played at home but go crazy for it on the ship. When we sailed the Caribbean Princess they even had it satellite on the outdoor movie screen so I never had to move from the pool:cool1: I have my bingo budget in place:banana:

I like to play bingo on cruises too. I read that Disney changed to electronic cards??? I have no idea how that works but will deffinately find out!!!

I am exctied!!!:woohoo: I called the DCL and they were able to tell me which movies will be playing on our cruise. The new Christmas Carol with Jim Cary in 3D will be showing!!! We all said we wanted to see that one!!! I can save a few dollars by not having to go see it at home!!! Other than that, they said Toy Stoy 3D, Bolt 3D, The Surrogate, G Force, Earth, Up 3D and The Proposal.

It's great they are showing all those movies but I don't think we will have time to see any of them! Unless we do a late nighter. (but Dh and I want to go to the sports bar) We saw Toy Story a few weeks ago and only made it through the first one but I am worried the Jim Carrey movie might freak my baby out!

At least on my 4 day we had a whole night where we all got to see "Race to Witch Mountain". We all saw that since there were only 3 shows. Plus we have pirate night one of those nights and will have to be packing on our last night. I have early dinner this time so I am not sure what the game plan is yet? I hope time goes slow! We probably won't be going on another cruise for some years. I really wanted to do Alaska but they wanted full deposit :(

Bingo on my 4 nighter was $70.00 for electronic bingo and that was only for one session! I am going to be emptying out my coin jar for that one lol! I plan on going to Atlantis too to play some penny slots.

Every day I think of what I want to do and soon enough we will be on our way! Halloween is so close I can't believe it! Then after that the days will fly by:grouphug:

The magnetic exchange list will be going out next week. Still time for people to join this simple door magnet exchange. Just PM me with your Cabin number.

Thanks!

We just got back from going to EPCOT for the day. We had to change our plans around a little. IT WAS UNBELIEVALBY CROWDED!!!!:eek:, but we were able to hit all the attractions and walk around the food and wine festival. We were walking around and I saw Robert Irvine (Im quite sure I spelled his name wrong) from the Food Network show Dinner Impossible. Valerie was excited that I asked if I could take her picture with him, and he said yes!!!:cool2:

Hi Fish Extender Participants-

I converted the list to excel since I was having problems getting it open on my laptop and attached it to an e-mail since I anticipated that there might be others having a similar problem. I just hit reply all to what Chris sent out so I think everyone should have it but please contact me if you need this version.

Just a few weeks now!

Have any of you past cruisers been to Atlantis? After seeing the one in Dubai tonight on the Amazing Race we are thinking we may consider doing this if the weather is good. I see you can get a day pass for $110 pp. Just wondering if any of you have been and what you thought of the pools, slides, etc?

Hi!!!
I took the kids to Atlantis last year for the Aquaventure tour through Carnival. It was wonderful!!! After a short tour, we were given a voucher for lunch and cut loose to do our own thing. All of the slides were thrilling. Like nothing I've ever seen before. I especially liked their lazy river and the Serpent Slide where you end up in a clear underwater tunnel through the shark tank. Also included was access to their private beach, which we didnt go to and to The Dig(the aquarium). We went on a tour of The Dig on a previous cruise and loved it, but wanted to spend all of our time at the water park. They do provide towels for you to use, you can rent a locker for your personal items, but we didnt, just left our bags under a chair and had no problem. I would advise though, if your ticket does not include lunch (our tickets were around $150.00 pp) that you might want to bring a snack or water along??? It was VERY EXPENSIVE!!! I think a cheeseburger(ONLY a cheeseburger) was $15 and soda/water was $6?!?!?! Also, they do not take cash at the waterpark. Only credit cards.

Hiya everyone!
Paxton's Mom sent out a version of the FE list so everyone hopefully can open it. I cannot for some reason but will try again after I drop the girl's off at school.
Thanks for doing that! Let me know if you cannot open that one and I will try to paste it again.
Have a great day!
Chris

You can sign up for a couple of different Atlantis packages on the DCL web site - click on shore excursions under your cruise reservation. In 2007 we did the Explore Atlantis (I think that's what it was called) that included a shuttle ride to the resort, a guided tour through the shopping area (high dollar stores), casino, and other areas of the resort, and then we were left to explore on our own. The package included admission to the underground aquarium which is really cool, but not use of the pools or water park. The aquarium is themed like the lost city of Atlantis and includes a tunnel you walk through where fish and sharks are swimming all around you. I think the package was about $55 at the time, and it's probably gone up a little. I called Atlantis directly and the package with transportation was cheaper than just doing the Aquarium.

VET is correct - food is very expensive at Atlantis. My DH and I ended up sharing a chicken salad sandwich at the restaurant on the little peninsula in the swimming lake because it was so expensive. Hopefully they'll let you bring snacks and bottled drinks from the ship.

The Atlantis is a huge, sprawling, beautiful resort with lush landscaping. It's definitely worth a visit, whether you want to spend the day at their water park, a few hours in the casino (the smoke was heavy, although they may have a non-smoking section), or just explore the resort. Be sure and ask how much the penthouse at the top of the resort rents for - and be prepared for your jaw to drop. One of the employees said that Michael Jackson had rented it, so that will give you an idea of the cost :scared1:.

We did this last year but booked thru Comfort Suites Paradise Island (It is located right across the street from Atlantis). You have full access to Aquaventure by staying at the Comfort Suites for a LOT cheaper. I just went on the site and the best rate is $198 for 4 people plus taxes. The only bad thing is if you don't make it to Nassau the room has to be cancelled a day or two ahead of time. With that being said, I can't remember the last time the ship couldn't made it in to Nassau. If you want more info, feel free to ask here or pm me:)

I forgot to add the taxi info...it wasn't too bad, I'm thinking about $6 per person. Make sure to negotiate BEFORE you get in. There are plenty of taxis at the port and Atlantis or the Comfort Suites.

Just curious if everyone could provide their names for the FE exchange. It might be fun to personalize some stuff:thumbsup2 If you want to provide the info that would be great...I'll start:
