November 19, 2009 3-day Wonder Cruise

Is anyone else considering doing Atlantis pools(either thru DCL or renting a room???)

Not us, we've decided that since this cruise is so short we will stay on board and enjoy the ship that day.

Last time we were in Nassau we considered doing an Atlantis day but in the end we went with a dolphin swim instead (which I highly recommend). I've heard the pool area is fabulous at Atlantis (the photos all look great) but people complain about how hugely expensive the food, drinks, etc are, so watch out.

I'm sure you'll have fun with whatever you decide to do that day!

We are going to Discovery Cove before the vacation.(Can't wait!!) I really want to do the pools/beach at Atlantis. Having been to Nassau before, there really isnt' much else there I want to see. I heard about the food. I wont' be drinking(only adult in the crowd, haha..) I take my girls without daddy. The lowest price I can find right now for CS is $286. For the three of us and DCL it is $380 and would include lunch and transportation, so for the safety of going with a group, right now going with DCL is probably my best bet. If the rates go down, then I will have to reconsider.

Woohoo! I just bought Very Merry Christmas Party Tickets for November 17th! It is our first time seeing Disney at Christmas. I can't wait to see the boat all decorated! Should be awesome!

Congrats... we may be joining you. We have gone twice, once it was super quiet, the other time it was a zoo... so decided this time we will wait till about a week before to decide. If it sells out, we won't go. Be sure to see the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian. We have stayed at the WL the past two years and the decorations just magically appear overnight, it is amazing.

Hi everyone! I haven't checked in for several weeks and it's great to find a lot of new posts from fellow cruisers.

We just got back from 4 nights at Disneyland (first time since 1981) and it was a surprise trip for the grandkids. We had adjoining rooms at the Grand Californian using DVC points and they were so surprised when we knocked on their door. They thought they had flown to Florida (where we live)!

We had a great time, the weather was gorgeous, and we were sad to leave the west coast. I grew up in Portland and my son and his family live in Vancouver, WA. We only get to see them once a year so this was a really special trip for all of us.

Scootch - please PM me with info on the Atlantis deal through DCL. I'm not sure what all is included and the cost comparison through Atlantis vs DCL. Thanks.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone on the cruise. Do we want to try and meet up at the terminal to learn everyone's faces before the cruise??

I leave Saturday, May 9th, for a week at WDW with my sister who is flying out from the west coast. We'll be at Saratoga Springs Resort using her DVC developer points and we've got a full itinerary of fun activities planned. :woohoo: Then we'll have to suffer through a long summer of Disney withdrawal until our big trip in November. :sad1:

Is anyone staying at the Port the night before? I have a room booked at the Radisson. It appears to have a nice pool and decent rooms. There was a good deal with parking and the shuttle (we live in Florida, so we're just driving to the port).

I got my Passporter guide in the mail the other day. I'm a guidebook nut, I swear. I have practically every Disney one ever written and I've been to Disney so many times I could probably write one myself! But, I just love reading them.

I'm glad to see more people joining our little thread!

I bought our airline tickets today! We are flying in on Airtran on Nov 16th. Our VMCP tickets should be coming any day now too:) I know this cruise is going to go way too fast. I will have to remind myself not to pack so much lol:confused3

I had planned on staying at port, but then ended up renting points for Bay Lake Tower and figured would just spend the night there enjoying the fireworks one more time and head over in the morning. Going to try to leave WDW about 9am.... will just do McD for breakfast and hope to be to port by 1030-1045am. If it is a smidge later, not going to worry about it. Really want my girls to sleep till at least 8am that morning.

Trying to get on this cruise with a bounceback....originally booked for November 12th,....if anyone is cancelling a category 12 bounceback...let me know...please.

TIA

We are taking advantage of the bounce back offer as well. My parents will be with us again (they were with us on the February cruise).

Looking forward to a great cruise with my DD (age 83) DM (age 74) and DS (age 21). All three generations will be on the cruise to celebrage my 50th. I feel sorry for my DW and DM since the three guys are real Disney nuts.

We will spend Nassau on the ship or just walking around the area.

I see you are staying at Bay Lake Tower too. We too check in the 15th(will be at sea world the 14th and staying one night there, then discovery cove on the 15th. Can't wait to see BLT. We are in a lake view studio, they didnt' have the castle view rooms left. We stayed in the tower castle room view a couple years ago.

Can't wait to see the indside of the BLT. We have a lake view sudio as well, although I've requested a standard room to use less points. As we get closer, I may decide to do an extra week before at the AKL.

Hey guys... my kids school schedule came out and they have off Friday the week before..... so I am switching to the 3 night Nov 12th cruise! One less day to make up school work and flights will be cheaper than the weekend before Thanksgiving, so it just made sense to switch.

Have a great trip!!!

What!!?? I was just getting to know you and now you're off to another cruise date. Oh well. Have a GREAT time, and kiss the sands of Castaway Cay for us.

I was looking at a Navigator from the Feb 09 3 night cruise and it looked like tons of fun. This will be our first cruise (though we're aleady booked for another next July). I think my daughter is going to love the Oceaneer Club. The activities just seem like a great time for her. I'm not going to know what to do with myself with all that time on my hands!

Both my girls will be in the Club. Cassie is 9 and Claire is 4. Cassie didn't want to come out of the club one day and loved it. This will be Claire's first time as she was in Flounders on our 4 day:) Last time we took some alone time and went down to the pool and Palo's was a nice time too. I think we are going to try the rainforest spa room this time.

sorry, just peeked back here. I cant' believe I have changed this cruise twice... first I was to go on a 7 day.... and then the 19th.... then the 12th. I have my airfare now though so no turning back. Have a great trip!!!

Can someone tell me a little more about the bounceback cruises? I assume you have to book while you're onboard and you get a really good discount. What category is the $99 cruise for?

Does the cost depend on what date you're going to be cruising next time and what category you want? We're staying in a Cat 9 room at Cat 10 price (secret porthole room) this time. I'm wondering what the bounceback fare is liable to be.

I have invited my sister-in-law to join us on this cruise and she said yes. She's never cruised before and never even been to WDW. Her husband is going to a conference in Orlando the week of our cruise and she's coming down with him from Tennessee. We're going to be staying at AKV so I also invited her to come spend Wednesday night with us in a 1-bedroom concierge room at Jambo House and ride over to the port with us in the morning.
She may even come spend a couple days with us in the parks. I'm really excited about showing her WDW and hoping she'll get hooked. This is all a surprise for my DH and it's been tough for my SIL and me to keep this a secret but so far so good. Hopefully he won't know about it until she shows up on our doorstep one morning to catch a ride to a Disney park! :rotfl:

She's in the process of getting a passport and hopefully she'll have it by the tme we're ready to make shore excursion reservations. I think I might have even talked her into parasailing with us!

Here is how the bounce back offer worked- We went on a cruise in Feb. and received a voucher for a 3 day cruise between August and December. The voucher was for $99 per person in the same cabin category you booked on the previous cruise.
So, it is not just something you book. It was a special offer to those that went on a cruise earlier in the year. Sorry. :sad1:
