yowsa - business

welcome 5'o clock. we are neither easter bunnies or turkey hawks from previous DCL dis cruisers. this is our 2nd DCL - first 7 day and i'm so siked! LOL jump in and join in -- i feel like part of the 'gang'

I can finally post this publicly -- today is DD - Taylor - 13th birthday. One of her gifts is a Royal Dolphin Swim in Cozumel - so yes, we booked through www.cozumelinsider.com last May - she got the Royal Swim Package, DD Paige and I will do the Dolphin encounter package. All four of us have tickets to the sea lion show and swim with the sea lions. Then DH will become a photographer while the three girls do their dolphin thing -- all this at Chakanaab park. I hear it's very nice

Kris -- according to early talk we are to have the APLAPLA rotation, those who have linked with this disgroup through Lampskies. We booked Palo on the second Animator's Palate night, which is Tuesday night at 8 p.m. I plan on going to the early show of Twice Charmed, then DH and I will head to dinner and send DDs to dinner with DGP. My DDs wanted us to all do the semi and formal nights together, so then I just picked a night early in the cruise, not first night at AP and not a semi/formal night. Right now the Around the World menu isn't that appealing to me anyhow, but the menus don't have much weight in my decision. I know I"ll have a great meal wherver I may be! and Palo rocks so it beats out any in my book. I really look forward to a romantic dinner for the two of us; we really enjoyed our dinner there on our 4 day Wonder cruise. Bear in mind I live in podunkville, Ohio where my restuarant choices are Bob Evans and Waffle House. seriously

T-Day Gang,

Just sitting here sippin' some 2000 Washington State Cab....

Here's the skinny on the deposit. I'm not charged anything, unless we don't show up. Everyone pays by family on the boat to the NativeWay.

We've got two options... everybody pay me the $50 pp up front and I'll pay NativeWay... or pay on the boat. I don't care, I just don't want the full liability of the $600 for everyone.

Let's make it easy. I'll make the res tomorrow. Everyone who wants to go, send me a check... before we leave, I'll keep a list and pay NativeWay for those folks who have pre-paid. Last year we met NativeWay at the port where we got off the tender. I'll post all that information. We'll also agree on a meeting time and location on the Magic to catch the tender. Lamps, it may be early for you... bring a bloody mary. Sound fair? If anyone else has other ideas, let me know.

Doug

Ron,

I checked out the sunrise pictures. I know those we're not taken by you. When was the last time you were awake by 9? LOL

Has anyone else here noticed that most of us are now able to do the DOUBLE-DIGIT DANCE!!! :dancer: It is now 99 days until DH, DD and I arrive at the MCO Hyatt! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Anyone else want to join in on the celebration? :cool1:

We're so excited! :jumping1: :cheer2: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I want to book one Palo dinner - we have never done this and I'm excited about it! What's it like?

IKris

Kris, the Palo dinner is to die for! (I think there might still be a menu posted on the Castaway Club website?) I had shrimp penne pasta. YUM! Better yet, book the Palo brunch as well! It's available only on sea days, and we loved it even more than the dinner.

DH and I are 'double-dipping' so we don't miss any dining room nights. We've booked Palo dinner for 6pm Sunday (we'll have to leave CC a little early that day, but we're fine w/that since we'll be there again Friday.) I suggest not missing 'pirate night' if you're going to skip a dinner for Palo. When it was called 'tropical night' the waiters surprised everyone..well, I don't want to spoil the surprise in case they do it on pirate night too. :earsgirl:

ARggh! Could I scream... the $ to pay off the cruise is now in my account... so I can begin booking my excursions etc., but my dang debit card will only let me do $1000.00 per day... oh the agony of it all!!!

:rotfl2: @ Doogie.........sunrise? Since Jessica decided to do cross country at 7 am......

I just spoke with a DCL rep and they further explained the ship’s itinerary for the Thanksgiving cruise.

Sunday: 8:15 – 2:45
Monday: Sea Day
Tuesday: 7:30 – 4:30
Wednesday: 10:30 – 10:15
Thursday: Sea Day
Friday: 8:00 – 4:30

I was surprised to find that we are leaving CC at 2:45 to make it to GC on time and the apparent third day for a Character Breakfast will be Wednesday since we don’t get to Cozumel until 10:30, but I can’t be sure.

Can't believe I almost missed the double digit dancing!!! My favorite next to the single digit dance and of course, the "I'm on the boat with the drink of the day in my hand" dance. Here goes:
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

By the way Scorpio, you can alert your bank that you need to have them authorize a one time only, higher per day allowance for your debit card. That way you can pay off the balance and get to making your ressies!

I cannot believe that its only double digits until I can enjoy my stone crab claws at the Palo Brunch!!!!! With the brandy sauce, sooooooo good!
I just can't wait! :cheer2:

WoooHOOOO!!!

  :cool1: :cool1:

Double Digit Dance!!!

Never thought it would arrive!!

Now back to business --

Molli, thanks for the rotation info. Which restaurant night is pirate night so I don't do the Palo on that particular night?

And Willie -- Disney provides an excursion to Stingray City as well as Rum Point -- but not sure how long it takes. We need to shop -- well, I don't cause I've been there, but the girls well...

Kris

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: just be-bopping in my 'puter chair to my new CD - Beauty and the Beat! disney tunes in steelband style -- perfect dancing music for the DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE!!!!!

i did notice that it was coming on Wed - I told my DD we'd be celebrating two things on August 11 - her 13th birthday and the DDD!

Kris - pirate night is Cozumel night (Wed) have you seen the rotations and menus on inkkognitos site? her website will filter out like this **********************; and i got a cyber hand-slap a while back for dodging the filter and trying to post it, if you search castaway club on google you'll get the site

Greetings and Welcome 5 O'clock Somewhere sorry I didn't greet sooner but I was in an uproar about my inability to book :flower:

We too are neither bunnies nor turkeys, this is our first cruise ever and are we ever excited --- even more so since I was able to get our ressies together today... this is what we have going on (for those of you who are veteran cruisers please let me know if I've scheduled anything at a "bad" time)!!!

Castaway Sunday - Watercraft Eco Tour (Myself, DH, DD, DS) 1:00

At Sea - FOR ME BECAUSE I WILL BE BEACHED AT CASTAWAY WITH MY DS ON FRIDAY SINCE HE IS AFRAID OF THE ACTIVITIES THAT DH AND DD WILL BE DOING :cool1: - Marine Facial 10:30 ----- has anyone done this? is it worth it???

Grand Cayman - Nativeway trip with the Gang AND Palo Dinner at 8:00

Cozumel - Fury Catamaran 12:30 my whole gang (DS continually worrying if he will get boat sick)

At Sea (Thanksgiving) Couples Massage - 3:15

Castaway - DH AND DD Parasailing at 12:30 and then they will be Banana Boating at 2:30

:cheer2: Mission Accomplished!!! Now if I can only keep Owens on my Team :wizard:

We just ordered pirate gear this evening... I must ask, how dressed does everyone get or is it totally variable... or how dressed are you guys going to get dressed should be more the question!!

Sherri, Ron, Rachel (3 weeks till 10 - from now on i'm listing her as 10 even tho technically she'll be 9), Jacob (just turning 8)

Evening all!
I noticed some of you more seasoned cruisers have already had the pleasure of booking...we still have to wait till the 21st :sad2: Can we start doing our ressies at 12:01 a.m. on the 21st??

Would love some insight on the following if you'd be so kind...

Can you book Palo's dinner AND a brunch? How do you let them know you want to book a res. w/ another couple?

Can you request a particular Dinner rotation?

Is the Rasul avail. to book on line...haven't seen it in the Vista line up, but DEFINATELY want to do it again!

So are we sure that our Pirate night is on Cozumel (Wed.) night?

What did you Turkey Hawks have for Thanksgiving last yr.? The traditional?

Thank you all soooo very much for the great info.!!! I am now so excited again I can't sleep!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Doin' the very happy DDD, :cool1:
L & D

PS
Has anyone ever heard of a Cat. 6 being offered an upgrade? Just curious.

5 O'Clock - this is my first cruise - the only reason I can book now (besides the fact that I finally have the money to pay off the cruise) is that I booked the REAS package which allows you to book 105 days out!!

And since this is my first cruise I am obviously not in the position to answer the rest of your questions :goodvibes

Sherri, Ron, Rachel (10), Jacob (8)

Were you able to book because of your category? Seems like we are limited to 90 days out,,,,even though we paid 6 months ago. We are in Cat 6.
Thanks
Laurie & Davis :confused3

No we booked the Romantic Escape at Sea Package. Among other things such as breakfast in bed, it includes a couples massage... it cost (i'm guessing) $329... if you go to the Disney Cruise site or even on these boards you will find plenty of info!!!

Can you book Palo's dinner AND a brunch? How do you let them know you want to book a res. w/ another couple? You can book one reservation for Palo dinner, brunch and high tea per stateroom. We are planning on brunching with my parents, right now my online ressie shows '1-2' persons, i'll just go to the "ressie center" which is nothing than tables and computers set up temporarily on embarktion day at Wavebands, there will be signs if I remember correctly. I asked a CM where to go when I boarded my first cruise and she was very helpful in directing me there. So i'll just change my brunch ressie to 4 people and we'll just show up together.

Can you request a particular Dinner rotation? You can request a rotation either through DCL or your TA, however you booked. It's not guaranteed. Again going to Wavebands there will be a station for dining changes just as for Palo ressies

Is the Rasul avail. to book on line...haven't seen it in the Vista line up, but DEFINATELY want to do it again! from my spa reservation list on disneycruise.com ----Exotic Rasul (DM S17 RASUL)Experience this pure retreat for two. Pamper each other in the privacy of a secluded chamber and steam room. Indulge yourselves with body mud, aromatherapy massage oils, a host of fabulous facial care products and more.-$83

So are we sure that our Pirate night is on Cozumel (Wed.) night? i guess nothing is guarnateed, i'm assuming based on the normal Western itinerary and last year's Thanksgiving cruise. the regular cruise discussion board will no doubt alert us if there are changes ;) nothing is set in stone

What did you Turkey Hawks have for Thanksgiving last yr.? The traditional?google "castaway club" and visit the website that comes up and you'll see the past two year's thanksgiving menus, which accompany the regular menu of that day on the Western itinerary - Captain's Gala

Thank you all soooo very much for the great info.!!! I am now so excited again I can't sleep!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Has anyone ever heard of a Cat. 6 being offered an upgrade? Just curious.there are discussions all the time on the reg. cruise board about upgrades -- yes i've read of Cat 6 cruisers being upgraded. wouldn't it be great fun if someone on our thread got upgraded! you never know who the pixie dust will land on

Laurie -- i'm not really that 'seasoned' in cruising, this is only our 2nd cruise but i LOVE to read the boards and the above mentioned website. I also have a past edition of the Passport Guide for DCL form our first cruise that is very helpful. www.passporter.com

I think Sherri answered your question about prebooking ressies for Spa, Palo, Excursions and children's club registrations. It becomes available to those who have paid their cruise in full at the following dates before embarktion day:

105 for conceirge and REAS package
90 for Castaway Club members - those who have sailed DCL prior
75 for first time cruisers

Sherri -- we are booked for Palo dinner on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. too!
