Do you remember what time you arrived at Castaway Cay on Sunday? I was wondering if they would still do the 1st character breakfast then or later in the week.

Thanks,
Gina

I need to know how many in your party are interested. There are 9 people confirmed so far for the private excursion. They may only be able to accomodate 25 per boat.

I'm so jealous of everyone booking... I have to wait until we pay off ... probably by Friday :cool1:

We are definitely interested in the trip and I thank you so much for investigating... there would be 4 in my party. Not sure if you have to indicate kids/children but it'd be 2 and 2!!

Can't wait until Friday to begin booking!!!

Character Breakfast is usually done during days at sea. For this trip that would be Monday or Thursday.

I will be calling them back to confirm:
Payment terms (if I guarantee the deposit can we each pay separately)?
How many can they accomodate per boat?
How many boats do they have if there is a 25 person limit per boat?
QUOTE]

I heard back from NativeWay. Each of us pays separately on the boat.
They have boats that can accomodate up to 50.

Again, let me know who's interested. I need to be able to guarantee 12; they also need to know how many in our final party so they can arrange a boat to accomodate everyone.

Our deposit isn't due until Sept 9; so most likely we won't be making our Fury excursion res until then.

Doogie, looks like we have 4 with the possibility of 2 more....Jess and Alli it looks like are bringing friends.....

Hey Doogie, here is where our "pirate night menus are....

I have been reading about Nativeway on the Cruise Critic Boards. The folks there that have been on Nativeway all rave about how well it went. Many said that Rum Point Beach was one of the prettiest beaches in the world.
People that were on the full day trip said that after they left Stingray City and headed for Rum Point, they were given menus to order from, then the oredrs were called ahead to the beach, and the meals were ready and waiting when they arrived. Pretty cool. They said there was everything from chicken tenders to mahi-mahi. I think that on those cruises, the meal was included, but drinks/beer was extra.
I believe that this excursion could be the highlight of the whole cruise. We had fun on Captain Marvins last year, but only knew one other family. Doing this with all friends will be super.

I hope that everyone considers doing this trip. You can always see butterflys at home and I have heard that "Hell" is not much fun! The stingrays are really alot of fun to play with. They really are like squirrels at the park. Only underwater!

I have already committed to Doug that my group of 5 will be going. We are
Me(Willie), DW(Kelli). DD15(Hayley), DD10(Erin), DD's friend 15(Haylee)

Ron, I guess the girls are getting to the age where they have to bring a friend just about everywhere! WE are no longer entertainment enough!

Gina- On CC day you will want to send hubby down early with us to get a good spot at the DIS corner.

Willie

doogie - this excursion is all day??

i hear ya Willie but my family really does want to see butterflies and turtles! we have planned on taxi to those places in the moring, lunch and then Paige and I are going back to the boat for a relaxing afternoon and Preston and Taylor want to snorkel for 2-3 hours at Stingray.

so my 2 are still 'maybe'

Ron - LOVE your wall!

molli

Mollie,

Yes, it will be all day. There's not much to see in GC, it's totally flat, no forest, or mountians. There aren't any great shoppin' deals like on COZ. The water is swimming pool clear and hues of blue/green. StingRay City is around 6 miles out to the barrier reef but it's only 6 - 10 feet deep all the way out as it's part of the GC plateau. You can see the bottom the whole way. You can see Rum Point from the Stingray City sandbar. Hope you can join us. I'd like to keep the excursion managable.

All,

Once we're on the charter, it's $50 per person, each family pays NativeWay separately while on the boat.

I will be guaranteeing the reservation by Friday. I've already talked to them about cancellation policy. If the Magic is late to port, they will pro-rate. If the Magic is not able to anchor and the port authority closes the port (no tenders), we will not be charged. I will guarantee the reservation, but if for some reason, we fail to show up for the charter and the Magic is docked in GC (tenders running), they will charge my card $600.

Would anyone care to split the responsibility of the guarantee in case for some reason, we cannot make the charter? I'll take responsiblity for the guarantee, but if on Nov, 22nd, we don't make it, I would like not have to absorb the whole $600 when they run my credit card. I can be reimbursed on the Magic.

If ya'll got any questions, let me know.

Thanks,
Doug
We've got 20 so far:

Doogie 4
Millers 5
5Js 5
Scorpio1112 4
Lamps 6

OK, stupid question about the Native Way excursion...since you already have 20 confirmed does the price drop down to $30/pp?

Revisiting the character breakfast question, if it is only served on sea days that would only give two days, Monday and Thursday, but there are 3 dining rotations. If we had the Key West stop it would be on Sunday, Monday and Thursday. So which days is the Character Breakfast served? Just trying to plan out if I should book Palo brunch on Monday or if we may have the Character Breakfast (I know, no comparison). I'm celebrating my birthday on Monday and I'm trying to decide how I should spend my day (with or without the kids). I think I read about Martini tastings now too, just tried my first one not too long ago and I'm up for trying something new. I'm saving Palo dinner for Tuesday night since I'm not fond of that theme menu.

I'm sure my DH will be joining you at the beer tasting. He spent last year in London and he loves the imports. With the ESPN bar closed do they still offer the special on the refills with the mug? We still have ours that I can always pack.

Gina

Gina,

Regarding NativeWay... I thought the price was $30.... but that was for the half day; it's $50pp for the full day. Still pretty cheap for an all day excursion vs. what DCL would charge for similar.

Doug

Hey Doogie -

Nice of you to check into the charter on GC. The thing is, though, I think we probably will pass on it because none of my group will snorkle - thats the Coral segment - correct? And I know that my 3 girls are going to definitely want to reserve some GC time for SHOPPING. I was in GC last March and I know that its not the most interesting shopping around, but of course my girls will want to check it out for themselves. Especially the Hard Rock Grand Cayman (sigh).

So what we'll probably do is just the Stingray Sandbar excursion and I'd like to do Rum Point Beach and then the rest of the time do the shopping.

Thanks though - and I wanted to let you know so that you're not hanging and wondering!

Kris

We are part of the group dining experience - LOL! Can someone tell me the dining rotation that we will have?

I want to book one Palo dinner - we have never done this and I'm excited about it! What's it like?

I want to choose one of the dining nights that will be repeated during the 7 nights for our Palo reservation. So if anyone can tell me the rotation that we are booked and reserved for - that would be GREAT!

Thanks!
Kris

Wow
the thread has been busy again!
Hey lamps, you are only three hours away...if you clear the road for me

4.5 hr if there are police. I do not believe you have a wonderful place as i see in your pics
Guess i'll have to come up and see for myself!

Newbees, this is a family! we will have a great time CC -Our corner, GC great idea Doogie, on the boat for the 10pm chat (drink)time. and so many others

Off to CA in the morning, talk to everyone on Tuesday,

John

Hi there!
We're going too!! The Thanksgiving Cruise sounded like a GREAT way to kick off the holidays to us!! :) Booked after we got off 7day Magic last summer. New to the DIS so please bear with us. Sounds like a great group of Cruisers!! :cool1:
Has anyone done the Chankanaab Na'tl. Park? How about the Sea Lion Discovery or Mayan Horseback Riding tour? We're set w/ a private scuba tour in Cayman, but undecided about Cozumel. Last trip we just shopped (and will again...can't beat the prices for some early Christmas shopping!) but want to do more this trip.
Also, any info. about if the standard itinerary will change after the Magic is out of DryDock? (Party nights, etc.?)
Can't wait! Thanks for any info.!!

Hi "5 o'oclock Somewhere",

Welcome to our happy group.

We have developed a spread sheet with everyones info on it, I'm getting ready to issue our 4th rev. so if you want to be included and receive a copy, PM me with your email address, I email back to you our lastest copy, you can then provide me with the info, I'll include it in this update and issue it to all our other fellow cruises. Y

Just to give you some insight in this group, it is made up of the repeat cruises from last years Thanksgiving Magic cruise and repeat cruises from the Magic Easter 04 cruise. The "Turkey Hawks" as I call them are definitely in the majority, but the "Easter Bunnies" started the thread.

So again welcome aboard.

Your team leader
Ken

Welcome aboard 5 O' Clock! I have a flag in my pool house with that saying on it. Right below the flag is an old RC Cola clock that is stuck, on 5 o'clock, of course!

Kris, What excursion are you doing that takes you only to Stingray City, then Rum Point beach? Are you sure you will have time to shop? You may want to look at going to 7 mile beach as it is alot closer to the shopping.

Hey Doogie, I will send you a check for $250 to cover my group of 5 before we sail. Email me your mailing address.

Will
