Lampy, are you trying to kill these newbies? Don't encourage people to try and keep up with you! John, are you looking in on this? I am telling you. You are the Miller Lite man.
I am a big guy, but I could not hang with the Lamp Man. And THAT is a very hard thing for my pride to admit! So don't try to get these folks to thinking they can keep up. Ask John.

LAMPSKIES-Thanks for letting me see your photos.I truly enjoyed them.I can't wait!Come on November!

Maria

Ahhhhhh ya, a catch 22, come on November.......summer hasn't even arrived yet.......
Willie, water temps at the end of my pier have hit 48 degrees this morning. Next door neighbor tells me that means the bass will start to "come in"....

LAMPSKIES-Don't remind me<G>!We will skip summer<G>!I know that sucks!I can't wait for summer to get here as that means it is closer.I hate FL and summers though as it is so hot.You know I had to look at the Disney Magic today. It looks so foggy at port today.I hope it clears up for those sailing out today. We had some massive thunderstorms here last night, but this morning it is sunny.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

Maria

Hi All
Remember me?
Back from SUN-less Florida
DD's did good on their competitions
Jenna's squad came in 1st, Jessica's squad came in second.
Portofino was nice but we like the Hard Rock better!
When you stay at the Universal Hotels...their "Fast Pass" works great!
We bought a two day ticket ($500) and were done with both parks in 10 hours. Not worth it for two days. Gayloard Palms was next. About 8000 Girls competed over three days. Need i say more. I took Jeff to the VANS Skatepark each of the three days. He is not talking the talk anymore since he saw some kids younger than him Walk the Walk.(skateboard tricks)
I got to play 25 holes of golf! Got rained out(2 inchs of rain in one hour) the first day. 7am tee time the second day. We spent one day at HOME(MAGIC KINGDOM) aahhhh! :earsboy:
If you followed the weather down there this week, we came home tuesday when it was the best weather down there....don't you hate that? perfect weather the last day of Vacation!
Wednesday was a heavy work day Good weather in Cincinnati so i had the top down. Thursday went to a sales call then played golf. Alot of wind here and i have the lost balls to prove it! But i played!. Anyway, so i have some time to log on DIS, and what do i see? About 6 pages of Chatter! Well i'll catch up later on. Just wanted to say hi and i'm BACK so the TURKEY-BON JON GUITAREST is in the house!

John :earboy2:

hi turkey day cruisers!

i've been missing alot - beer, football, cars -- oh wait, i haven't missed much at all :rotfl: :rotfl:

and to save face I will say that my DH is BIG Cowboys fan too - i have the decor in the basement to prove it -- i'm sure he has a hat or two to choose from for thanksgiving day ball watching

john -- what about that fabulous weather Saturday in ohio?? I was powerwalking the Columbus 1/2 marathon in snow and 35 mph winds! it was awful!!! i tried thinking of the cruise around mile 3 but it seemed soooooo far away........................

do you all do gift baskets from Shirley? i have thought about it - i have started buying things here and there to smuggle down with me and suprise the girls with a cruise welcome basket of some kind but not sure if I should contact Shirley or just do it myself?

so -- is it time to think about excursions yet? what do you all recommend?? anyone parasailed?? I thought I read an adult and child could do together?

and, since you all talk manly ---- i bought the best cruise dinner shoes for a steal! they are silver and sooooo cute................... princess:

Can you send us a pic???? :cool1: I'm not talking manly and I get the Dallas thing ALL THE TIME as my co-worker who shares and office with me is Dallas do or die! AND I HEAR THE 55555555 THING ALL TOO MUCH ALREADY!

Do you have any early/late dinner thoughts to share... I've shared the ones i've gotten so far with the hub and we are still :confused3 his only thought was no early arisal last day... I didn't think that was quite the reason!!!!

Also... can we even possibly think about excursions if we are not sure about ports? I'll tell you my daughter wanted to parasail last year in nags head... she was 8 ... I prayed she was too young... she was fortunately too light had to be 100 lbs... but then she recruited my hub who really wanted no part of it... so they did go child and adult mainly for weight purposes... I know already this is in her plans!!!

I just got the official word from my wife that this trip is a go!! :cool1:

There was a small chance that my wife wouldn't have her vacation time approved, but she came to work this morning and on her desk was a signed approval for Nov 18th - 29th.

We wanted to do something special for Catherine's 13th birthday (Nov 23rd) and Catherine really wants to go on this cruise so knowing that the vacation time is approved and all is a go is good news around here.

BTW...we are staying at the Radisson the night before and I just rented a minivan from Budget for $44.05. We got this great rate because we are Sam's Club members. I have AAA, but was surprised to find out that Budget discounts Sam's Club members.

We were thinking of a town car, but with a little one, car seat, stroller, etc (you know the drill) we would have to get something larger and I just thought renting a minivan made more sense.

Jeff

Willie....looks like Thanksgiving football is getting more crowded....all the more reason for those of you thinking "early" dinner is for you. :rotfl2: Were definately booking the "buy one get one free" CC excursions and Kim want to parasail this time.....We loved the Snorkle beech party at Cozumel....definately think we are doing that again....if we still sail to GC Jess and I will probably do stingray city and Kim and Alli will shop....Alli doesn't like to be around fish.....70 degrees here today and upper 70s tomorrow.....Spring has arrived!!!!! :cool1:

Lampy,
count us in on the Cozumel Fury catamaran snorkel trip this year. We will need to coordinate the time. We did it on a Carnival Cruise once and it was great. Also want to do GC snorkel again. Capt Marvin was pretty good.

Late/early dinner? I like late because we don't have to rush back during the day. And DD10 would eat and run off to find the 5J girls anyway! As long as we get out in time to catch up with the DIS 'ers!

John, we are staying 2 nights at Hard Rock before the cruise and doing US/IOA on Friday. Glad you liked it better than the Portofino.

We spent the weekend doing basketball. First I refereed two games, then coached Erin in two.(She had 22 and 26 points) Then went Houston and coached Hayley in 2 AAU games. Then back on the court at 9:00 Am for one more game Sunday. Whew! Both girls did well. (Enter proud Dad smiley face here)

Willie

Willie,

Could you tell me where you photo was taken? Kind of curious where you family is while the Magic is behind them.

Jeff

Jeff,
The waitress at a little waterfront restaurant at Grand Cayman took that photo for us. We had just returned from a morning of snorkeling and stingrays with Capt Marvins. We had three cheeseburgers, a shrimp dish, an appetizer, 4 beers and 4 waters and the check was around $115. The menu is in Caymani dollars, so it was a little decieving!
Glad to here you guys are onboard! I am looking forward to meeting y'all.

Willie

Willie,

We have been on two Eastern cruises, but this will be our first Western. I have to assume that you have to tender in to Grand Cayman considering where the Magic is.

Jeff

Scorpio.....late, late, late, late , late.....Ya Willie the snorkeling was "o.k." but the beach party and the ride back was AWSOME....we played volleyball the kids "body surfed"....Iceman had the volletball this handled. John and Tom had a few too many of those "mexican beers".....that excursion was sold out early....The Fargos couldn't get a ressie they were too late so I made a call to my "girlfriend".
Willie it's amazing you found a place that had food!!!! Hard Rock was closed and we went to this little food stand and everything was gone except hamburgers......We went back to the ship but the Fargos had 4 burgers and 4 drinks....64 dollars....

Right, we did tender into GC. But the tender boats were really pretty large, and we did not wait coming or going. We did not get to see too much of Cayman, but what we did see was pretty well tore up. And there were not hardly any businesses reopened yet.

W

Lampy, did you book thru the ship? I forget, how early can we book shore excursions? Is it 90 days now?
I need to mark my planner. You gonna do the early, or late Fury Cat? Maybe we can get a DIS meet on the Fury?

We did Capt Marvins direct, and had no problems.

Hey, anybody heard from Silver7 lately? Teresa? You still around? :confused3

Willie, I booked it thru DCL about 60 days out....we did the late, I think it was around noon and 4 1/2 hours, then we went to get Kim her ring and do a shot at Carlos and Charlies :rotfl2: No way I'm getting DDs up early.....

Ya, where is Teresa? Ya know, I'm off tomorrow and it's going to be 80 and sunny.....maybe I'll turn on some carribean music open a beer and call her.....around 10 a.m......
