OMG.......It looks like I've been averaging 20 posts per day the last couple weeks :confused3 Somebody get me a straitjacket :rotfl2: I just "went off" on one of my sales people....so out of character for me......then one of my Mgs. came up to me and said "aren't you due for a vacation?" :rotfl2: .....so if we have about 220 days left to sail, and I post 20 per day as I have been...and we all know it just gets worse the closer we get to sailing.....I'll have over 6000 posts....that should be good for something.....right? :rotfl2:

Greetings All,

I joined probably way back on like page 15! We have never cruised before and have just returned from our first family trip to Florida (we were at Universal) so for me it is now time to gear up for Turkey day.

I have scanned through all of the pages that have gone by since then and at least know that I have a fellow drinker on board and that there might be a website and a spreadsheet :) both of which I am interested in more info!

Also, I see a lot of people offering to share pictures but I guess I need more info to view them???? :confused3

Cruising this Turkey day will be me, my hub and our two kiddos who will be 8 and 9 at the time of the cruise. We have our day before hotel room booked and I got fantastic air prices $700 for the four of us from Philly... so I'm pretty much set except for the WAIT

I will be monitoring now that I'm on the cruise mission and hopefully all you tried and true cruisers will give some good info that a newbie can use!

I see a lot of talk about pirate night pirate: which I don't recall seeing when we booked (when I was researching then)

and also some chatter about changes in our ports??? A worrisome one about "bugs" wasn't sure if they were of the insect variety or of the flu variety!

Anyway anyone have any words of wisdom I'm all EARS :earsboy:

Can you tell me what airline you booked with? My family usually flies out of Newark, NJ or Philly depending on who was the better rate. Thanks.

Jeff

Welcome back Scorpio!!! :cool1: What's all this talk about fellow drinkers? Didn't you hear we all gave it up for our New Years ressie :rotfl2: Just kidding......Pirate night is great!!! Just a big deck party on Wednesday....Cozumel day. They have added fireworks since our last years sailing.....Costa Maya is the rumor but port problems have bottled it up. GC was so devistated that they were trying to change the stop.....

I booked with USAir as soon as the November rates came out... we are on 9:00 a.m on the 18th and 12:20 on the 26th... I know that they have gone up since!! I "waited" patiently :smooth: until they were released... one thing tho is don't just look "normally" you have to search by price and click through those calendars... I'll see what I can find as cheap for you and we can compare!

looking only at usair... not being sure when u want to come and go i can tell you that you can go on the 18th nonstop at any of these times for $114 a piece:

6:30A 7:55A 12:00P 2:05P 7:00P

and if u don't mind a stop you can each go for $79 a piece at 5:30 a.m. (not an early riser myself but...) 5:30A PHL 9:13A MCO CLT 321 757

do you use SideStep (it is a great resource) here is another option... again... I don't know when you want to come and go...these are non-stop for $253.00 a person... if newark is closer and you send me dates i don't mind looking.. :sunny:

Here is the itinerary you've selected:
Outbound:

Flight: 639 Aircraft: Airbus Industrie A321 (Jet)
Departing: 11/18 at 6:30A Philadelphia Intl Apt (PHL)
Arriving: 11/18 at 9:00A Orlando Intl Apt (MCO)

Return:

Flight: 1282 Aircraft: Boeing 757 (Jet)
Departing: 11/26 at 8:35P Orlando Intl Apt (MCO)
Arriving: 11/26 at 10:43P Philadelphia Intl Apt (PHL)

Scorpio1112,

I am the keeper of the spread sheet, listing all us cruises that have reported into our cozy forum. Anyway, to get a copy send me a PM with your email address. It is an excel spread sheet. You can look it over, see what info I have on it and email me back with your info. I'll then update it and send it out to the other cruises, that have provided me with their info.

Just one big happy family.

And by the way, Welcome back.

Kennyk

also... now that I look at your pic i was counting you as 4... your baby might still be of the age for a lap? rather than a seat? you never know searching for 3 vs. 4 might yield better prices ;)

We normally cruise over the summer (July or August) but since the Magic is going to be on the west coast we are trying hard to squeeze in a 7 day cruise this year. We booked the Thanksgiving cruise, but vacation time may be tight so there is no guarantee we are going on the 19th.

That being said, here are the proposed dates. We are flying down on the 18th and staying at the Cape Canaveal Radisson. After the cruise we will stay in WDW Saturday and Sunday and fly back Monday the 28th.

Thanks for the quick info; no I don't know what SideStep is.

Jeff

P.S. the little one will be a year and 8 months at the time of the sailing.

We will also be at the Radisson on the 18th!!

I think you are SOL if you want to leave on the 28th for cheap...

if you can hang til the 29th.. you'll save yourself big time!

you can get out of MCO for $79 per person on a non-stop at 7:10 a.m. (on the 29th)

you can get there (MCO from PHL) for $114 per person on the 18th (of course taxes are not included in these prices) leaving at any of these times: 7:55A 12:00P 2:05P 7:00P

if you need to come back on the 28th best I could find as of this date is $137 per per BUT A REALLY REALLY EARLY DEPARTURE...

6:15am Depart Orlando, FL (MCO)
8:33am Arrive Philadelphia, PA (PHL)
Nov. 28 US Airways flight 598

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance! Good Luck and Bargain Shop!!!

We don't have to fly back on the 28th it would just be another day of school that Catherine misses which I don't think is a big deal since she is a good student.

We flew U.S. Air in August for our last cruise. The flight out was fine, but the return flight was cancelled and it was the last one going back to PHL that day so I had them book us on a Continental flight which was going to EWR.

The problem was the weather up north in NY/NJ/PA area. It was canceling flights that night so the Continental flight was no guarantee either. The flight finally did take off 5 hours after our original flight time and we got home by one in the morning, but at least we made it home.

I am a little leery about U.S. Air since that incident, but I we will see. Flying Continental direct out of EWR is usually pretty pricey.

Willie, Doogie and all friends....I saw another thread about a DCL flag......I have a 35 ft flag pole down by the lake....yes, old glory is flying and yes Doogie I have a NASCAR flag but I saw another thread about someone looking for a disney Cruise Line Flag....how cool would that be?

Hey everyone,

I sent out an updated cruise list to all that have sent me their email addresses.

Sorry for the double send but forgot to attach the spread sheet.

lampy, I still don't have your email address, so if you pm it to me I'll send you a copy right over.

I tried some of the usually options: expedia, travelocity, AAA and also went directly to the Continental (flying out of Newark) and U.S. Air (flying out of Philly) websites and the best rate I got was in the $190 - $200 range per.

I did see some early bird specials, but I don't want to fly at 5:30 in the morning.

Where did you get the $114 rate from?
