Connecting that with the revised weather forecast of possible snow showers in Chicago on the day we are flying out....I'm really thinking that perhaps there is some kind of bad karma weather connection going on here.
It is truly very weird to me....
Last year my then 8yo son was afraid to go to Florida because of the super active hurricane season. Before we departed, I showed him the lovely weather graphics of Jeanne heading out to sea and fizzling out so he would feel comfortable and safe. Imagine my horror to have to tell him that we would be holing up all day in our hotel room since Jeanne changed her mind.
So, when we rebooked the cruise (and we did so largely because our cruise last year was waaay less than magical) I assured everyone that hurricane season is OVER in late November. OK, not officially, but hey -- close enough. I made sure that my son, especially, had nothing to fear this time around -- it was all going to be right.
I think Mother Nature is just putting me in my place. And the rest of my family is going to have a field day with this one. I just can't wait for the phone to start ringing.
