Say it ain't so!!! No more hurricanes unless they come in a pretty glass garnished with fruit!!
I agree with others, I don't want to lose 2 days at CC but otherwise I don't care what the itinerary is as long as I get to my Palo reservation on Saturday night. :goodvibes

Ditto Melissa!

Our Palo ressie is Sunday night :-)

another storm?!?!?!? great, somthing else for me to stress about....well, since I can't do anything to change the weather I'm going to have to put that one off my list for now and focus on getting packed and outta here Friday afternoon. Like the others have said I will be enjoying myself no matter where we end up :sunny:

Temps here in CO are dropping fast, we are supposed to get rain/snow tonight and the low is supposed to be 19 tomorrow. I may not survive the winter. I'm a california girl born and raised....good thing I'll be thawing out on the ship.

Gotta get the kiddos up and ready for school.

Time to come clean. I know I'm really obnoxious on this board, but in real life I am very quiet and I hardly say anything. This is true.

Dena -

Along with the hurricane forecast, I have also been watching the Chicago forecast -- earlier they said sunny and 40's on Friday. Now they're saying 30's and rain/snow showers. What the?????

Kris

Weather update....I just checked the Hurricane Center's website and it is forecasting the storm to go towards Honduras in Central America. It's 5-day forecast shows the storm at 1 AM Saturday being about a day off the Honduras coast. So it appears that it will continue on its westward movement until it hits Central America. So far it's good news for us!!! :cool1:

The next update for the storm is going to at 5pm eastern time. That's cause it's still a depression.

Sorry, Julia, I had to do some work this morning. Who wants to go to court the first thing on a Monday morning?

But I am back in the office now. Hold on a minute.

OK, I'm back just had to loosen the tie and roll up the sleeves. We have a lot of posting to do today.

This time next week, I will not be wearing a tie, and I will be enjoying a day in the sun cruising on a sea as smooth as glass. We will all be laughing about what we were thinking last week, when we were getting stressed about a tropical storm named Gamma. Gamma? Are you kidding me? What kind of name is that for a storm? Go away!

That is very true!I surely do hope that if they change the itinerary we still get CC two days as if we don't that will be a big disappointment.

How 'bout 6 at CC?

As a public service to those of you who do not live in hurricane prone areas, let me give you a word of advice. Stay calm! You can drive yourself crazy listening to all of the predictions and forecasts when a storm is this new and is still forming. You will hear a lot of conflicting opinions and predictions, and you know what? There is not a darn thing that any of us can do about it. And, this early in the game, no one really can say with any authority what will happen. So, do not fret over what is being said now. We cannot do anything about it. No matter what, this is going to be the best cruise ever!

Just in case, you guys with the pixie dust get busy.

Where is Willie....he is the Hurricane expert........on our 03 Eastern sailing the week after Thanksgiving, we caught the "tail end" of a late season hurricane....we were in 26 footers on Thursday and the captain was trying to sail around it.....we didn't know if we were going to make CC until we woke up on Friday!

We ordered our cruise with Sunny Skies and Calm Seas :smooth: :sunny: :boat:
I can't quit find that in our Docs but i know i ordered it.
Let's go EAST if there are clear skies and calm seas.
Even a TS is several hundred miles wide.

Why are we even talking about this, the season is over!
Tell Mother nature to go Blow on the Southern Hemisphere!

I am in shock :earseek: reading about the tropical depression.

I absolutely refuse to even consider that a hurricane could ruin our Disney Cruise TWICE. Positively NOT! It will not happen, folks, so let's just go on our merry way and tell more jokes. :guilty:

Kris

I'm with you Kris!

Also, even though you are shy and reserved, I forgot that I like you because you have a pop up, and you like Corona. So we are good.

I vote in favor of Lampy's suggestion. Other than CC, I am fine with wherever the ship takes us. I have been on lots of cruises. Folks, every port is the same. The locals will all be begging to take you on a cab ride, or braid your hair. Same touritsy stores on every island with overpriced junk. Deals on liquor? Not really? Jewelry- you have to be very careful. Occasionally, there will be a nice beach, but you will have to pay to go there, and the food and drinks will be overpriced. Horseback riding? You will never see such pathetic animals. Don't get me wrong, all of the islands are fun, I'm just saying there ain't a whole lot of variety in the Caribbean!

I'm on the phone with DCL now.....they "aren't concerned" with the storm....."ultimately the change in ports is left up to the Captain"

You guys think I'm kidding. Why would I kid? I've not been known to joke around on this board ever.

And all of you are absolutely right about the total unpredictability of tropical storms/hurricanes. I can personally vouch for that.

Last September, the whole week before our cruise I was watching the formation of Hurricane Jeanne closely. We were doing a land/sea, with the land first.

Well, when we left Chicago, Jeanne was heading straight north and not predicted to make landfall and, in fact, to start drifting eastward and away from the US.

So we left with happy hearts and ready to roll.

We had a happy and fun first day at the World and that night I turned on the Weather Channel to see how hot it would be the next day. To my complete horror :scared1: Jeanne had made a complete LOOP in the Atlantic, evidently had changed her mind and was now heading straight for Port Canaveral. It was an absolute shock!

So, there you go. Let's just hope that the forecast says GAMMA is heading straight for us and that way, he/she/it will end up going the opposite direction. Count on it.

Kris

Just got this from Sweetspot in a p.m.

Can you do something fun for me?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I just got home from the 11/5 Magic and had the most amazing time! I envy you getting on soon. While onboard one of the fun things that a couple of other Disers and I experienced was a joke about Fruit Cake with Room service. Ken and Lee Anna from room service are some of the funniest people you will talk to on the ship. If you ever order room service could you please ask them what the cake of the day is and tell them you hear they have a might fine fruit cake. (I still can't believe that the cake of the day was fruit cake, I'm sure it's been passed around since last Christmas) You might even get your own personal recipe. Feel free to pass it on to others on your trip.

I hope you have as Magical a trip as we had!

Kris- I am going to try to be tactful here, because I have a feeling that it might be a mistake to offend you, but are you bad luck? Last year, Jeanne heads for you. Now, at the end of the storm season there is suddenly a new storm forming? :confused3 :scratchin
