Dang, you guys are at it late this evening. Just back from my little excursion with a bus full of 4th and 5th graders. My ears are still ringing! OK, I was looking through some old cruise photos, and I found a classic. What I was looking for was a photo to illustrate a point. My DW and I have gone on quite a few cruises. Several with groups of friends. When we have gone with friends, we always compete in whatever athletic competitions go on, especially volleyball. Did I ever tell you guys that the DW went to college on a volleyball scholarship (of course that was 25 years and three children ago, but don't bring that up with her). Anyway, we have never been on a cruise when we did not come back with some hardware (you know medals). Here is a photo from around 2000 or 2001, with me (tri-circle-d), and two of my best buddies. The guy on the left of the picture is the friend I have mentioned before, the guy who mixes a mean hurricane. The guy on the right, is my law partner, and long time friend. This is while we were on a Royal Carribbean cruise. We had just become the champions of the ship in volleyball, and been awarded our medals. This was on their private island. The women went back to the ship to shower and get ready for dinner. We men stopped at the bar to celebrate. The ship's photographer took this photo:

Attention Lampy-Do you see what beverage I choose to celebrate this special victory? (I'm in the middle of the photo). You and I are classy gentlemen. Do you see what my buddies are drinking: bud and michelob. How gauche. Also, don't you all wish that you had medals like the studs in this photo? We wore them with pride for the rest of the cruise. The ladies were sure impressed. If I am not mistaken, this is how we went to dinner that night.

In keeping with tradition, I did enter the Disney Legs contest on our Wonder cruise last year. I am proud to tell you that I have an official Disney gold medal, which you will see me wearing on embarkation day. Have you guys ever seen the Disney legs contest-the competition is fierce. So, my point is, do we have any other warrior/athletes in this group who can play volleyball or other such sports? Will our group dominate all of the competitions on this cruise? I want more hardware! Who is with me?

Here's something funny that happened today. One of my 10 year old DD's comes home from school today and tells us that the kids were talking about what they were going to do on their Thanksgiving break. So, a girl in her class says she is going on the Disney Cruise, and my daughter interrogated her to make sure she was not mistaken (TCD trains the TCD kids well), and it turns out that this kid is going to be on our cruise. This is a "new girl," this year, and we don't know the parents. The kids go to a private school run by the Baptist Church, and they are a little uptight around there- especially with the consumption of alcohol (and let's not mention dancing). Well, what in the heck are these people going to think about my family wearing matching t-shirts and being associated with you wild folks?

Maybe we will just leave our shirts at home, and keep to ourselves. Wouldn't want to tarnish our spotless reputations. Nah!

Anyway, how ironic is that? What kind of people would go on a Disney Cruise, and not have met up with us here on these boards?

So, what is it that you are most looking forward to on our first day aboard the Magic?

ohmygoodgravy where do i start? we booked our trip about 16 mos ago and i have been trip planning ever since. so much that i wonder "is it reality"

i remember you all cruising my "my" cruise last year and thinking "THAT will be me next year!" then you all jumped on the thread and the liveliness began and wow! it just gets more lively and I LOVE it!

i remember meeting CherylNWI at the 1/2 marathon and asking her all about 'my' cruise for next year!!

anyhow -- question was what am i MOST looking forward too??

RELAXING!! SUN!! FUN!! family time and meeting my friends! giving Willie a great big hug for ALL he and his family have been through! meeting and greeting Sherri and hoping by God's good grace her pins trade and kids love it! Palo Brunch! walking 2 miles on deck 4 with Kelli, Mom and anyone else who wants to..... yoga on the beach..............dinner oh my i can't WAIT to see our dinner group (am I there officially??) .............seeing the sea of lime green at the terminal...........thinking of all those poor DISers reading the "LIVE FROM THE NOVEMBER 19 MAGIC................."

oh my i have GOT to go to bed! spent late afternoon and evening shopping with DD - got those last minute waterproof cameras, etc.!!

i'm playing that 'Next week i'll be................." game too -- sooo fun!

Lisa-It goes to show we are too excited here .We usually can sleep in on Saturday,but not today we can.I tried to look at webcam at port,and they aren't showing the Disney Magic right now.That stinks !Yes,a week from today we will be getting up and getting ready to drive to port from WDW.I hope this coming up week flies by!

Molli-You said the magic words relaxing,fun, and sun !The three words we will be dong on this cruise.We have last minute shopping today to do.I have got to make a list.I went shopping last night with my Mom for more clothes for the cruise.A sea of lime green is truly what the terminal will have.We are getting there between 9 and 9:30.We will sit in the parking lot and glance at the ship knowing that this time we are going on it.
