Gang,

I've chartered an all day private excursion on GC, it's called Rays-Reef and Rum point. The description is here: http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/shiptours.html#RRR

Although there's a remote possibility they may still go, a family canceled so I'm going to open it up to one more group of 4-5. If you're interested in going, shoot me an email at grayhounddoogie@yahoo.com. The cost is $55 adult/ $40 Child.

We plan to meet outside Walt Disney Theater @ 7:15 EST when were in GC.

Here are some details from NativeWay:

"I have reserved a boat to accommodate your party on our
November 22, private charter, "Rays, Reef, and Rum Point" excursion.

The tour departs the pier between 8:30 AM - 9 AM Eastern Time. It
completes at around 3 PM Eastern Time. We ask that you check in no
later than 8:15 AM Eastern Time. When you come ashore, look for the
person carrying the sign that says Native Way Watersports. You may also
ask for us at the information booth at the cruise ship terminal.

We provide free use of all snorkeling gear and vests, food for the
Rays, and complimentary punch and bottled water. At Rum Point, you will
be provided with a nice grilled lunch.

We ask that you provide at least 72 hours advance notice to cancel.
If your ship is unable to dock in Grand Cayman, we will automatically
cancel your reservation, at no cost to you.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I look forward to
seeing you in Grand Cayman on November 22!"

Looks like Costa maya is crowded due to all the replaced peeps from Cozumel and other damaged ports....Here is a report...

I thought of this as more informational than a live report...I wish I was moved!

WARNING***WARNING!!!

We did the Jungle beach excursion and was EXTREMELY disappointed!! When we were leaving the lady organinzing our excursion on board said it was the most beautiful beach ever. Then a side note was added "Don't know how Wilma left it". Well she left the beach water cloudy and difficult to walk into because of the rough bottom. There was an AWFUL smell of sulfur as well! The excursion came with free lunch and free drinks...free use of kayaks, and paddle boats. Well we thought that would be perfect for us and our kids. The drinks were discusting..the paddle boats were broken and the life preservers' buckles were broken too! 30 people walked on the beach and turned around right away. One woman complained that she will NEVER book a Disney cruise again!

I took the kids down a looooong pier which housed some dolphins at the end. There were loose and missing pieces of wood but we were determined to see the dolphins at the end. Wish I hadn't. It made me so sad to see them caged in there...poor things. WE made the loooong trek back to the beach praying we wouldn't break a piece of wood and fall in. We then discussed things and decided to leave. It had been a 1/2 hour trip to the beach....a 1/2 hour there and then the 30 minute trip back. DH went right to guest relations and complained. My children would have boiled in the sun because there was no way we were letting them go in the water. The excursion cost more over $200 and they are "looking into things" for us.

PS...on teh way back there was a woman from Carnival there. She paid a lot less than we did. THey did snorkling and said they say 1 fish and someone saw a lobster

No for what's there.....when you get off the ship there is a nice walk on the pier that takes you to a little shopping area. They do try to get you in there ..someon even said she was pulled in. In the little shopping area there are a lot of tours being run. One woman said they went to book a horse excursion and when she saw the horses she was extremely shocked at how thin they looked.

There is a pool in the shopping area...free....and a small beach as soon as you get off the ship. THis is free as well. There was a rocky area in the water but people were swimming there no problem.

I'll try to find out if anyone did the Tequilla beach. SInce we had an excursion through disney we didn't loo at anything else.

It will definitely be interesting to see if Disney changes this port. There were crew members off the ship (the headexcursion man couldn't be reached to complain because he was on shore). Many people complained..while I'm sure there were some who didn't.

My dh said next time....no excursions. Time to enjoy the ship while no one else is around!!

and BTW - what are you going to be reading - still haven't found "the book" I'll take yet :goodvibes Lampy - I know, it's the Miller Lite label for you :rotfl2:
Great question Granny! I will have to go through my home library of books I have picked up at yard sales over the summer and choose one. I love those $1 books - much cheaper buying them than paying those library fines I always seem to end up with.

To quote Oprah:

"What I know for sure" --

I know I'll for sure be bringing an Oprah magazine. I have a subscription and those magazines are so big that I never seem to finish one before the next arrives.

I see nothing of Miller Lites :rotfl2: Hey Doogie, is this considered the "half day" excursion....with stingray city, beach etc.?

And last but not least and probably on the top of favorite jobs. I'm a "Cast Member" at a local Disney Store.

Well that's it for me.

Have a great day everyone off on my running.

Ken
Hi Ken -

So it sounds as though you love the Disney Store job. I'm thinking of doing something part time and have thought of applying at ours. Do you get employee discount? That could be either a good thing or a bad thing, depends.

Kris

Oh ya, DW Kim is a homemaker....someone has to keep an eye on me.....she also works one day a week at the local "scrap book" store.

I can't keep up with the chatting here!! Responding to a couple posts....

Lisa, stop lurking and say hello! Can't wait to meet you! I think My hubby Paul is lurking too.

Kathleen, there IS a formal night -- that was a DCL rep who didn't know what she was talking about. They sent a brochure for the tux rentals with our docs, seems pretty strange that they would do that if they had canceled formal night. If I'm wrong, don't tell my family, cuz they're all dressing up!

jobs.. my dh is a financial advisor and I am a full-time SAHM and part-time website owner (www.jordanpaperarts.com and www.scrapvillage.com).

gas.. It was $2.09 here yesterday, $2.25 today. It makes no sense to me why it fluctuates so much!!!

Anyone else getting really paranoid about germs right about now? Paul is flying to Phoenix for work tomorrow for 2 days. I just packed a full container of Airborne and a pocket size Purell and gave him a lecture on not touching anything, anyone, or using the airport bathroom. I just got the book "Germ Freaks guide to life" or something like that and I am freaking out right now about one of us getting sick before the cruise!!

Tana-weren't you the one who had sick kids last week or the week before?? I'm a germaphopic myself and stocked up ont he airborne yesterday too along with echinacea. I've been feeding my kids extra vitamins for weeks now. My husband is flying tomorrow also...he better not bring any sickness back with him-yikes!!!!!

Job-
Kelli and I have an insurance agency. We are independent, but our main company is Drive Insurance from Progressive. We write most lines of insurance except homeowners. Auto insurance is about 80 percent of our business.
People ask us how we could work together in the same office for 20 years. I tell you it forces us to communicate. Can't stay mad for long when you HAVE to talk at work!
