anyone else decorating for christmas before the cruise?? i have about 1/2 the decorations out or maybe more, one of two trees up. we aren't going to decorate the trees until after we get home though. outside lights go up Saturday!

No way are decorations coming near my house before we go!!! That's too much for me to ponder although I have been nudging for the outdoor lights since it has been soooooo warm... thankfully so... can't wait to pay those heating prices... we have oil... here's another topic... anyone with oil what are you paying??? we locked in at $2.399 (but I missed the boat by a day or I coulda had $2.359)

That plus pirate costumes, a formal (that DCL no longer has!! :earseek: ) and just the basics will pack our cases full!
L.

What's this? No more formal night? When did this happen? (Or is this a joke? :confused3 )

We were looking forward to formal and semi-formal nights. :guilty:

Hey, did I read correctly, we don't have a formal night anymore?!!?? But I forced DH and daughters to go shopping for nice clothes!! I want to wear my formal outfit! What happened, when did this change?

Kathleen

Oops, just saw that Cody's mom asked about formal night too. See, I am too slow with the replies!

Hey guys!
Sorry to scare you...just posted what a girl from the call center said yesterday...she OBVIOUSLY had no idea what she was talking about!! Nothing has changed about the formal/semi formal nights, they'll be wonderful as always (if we can keep Lampy & Willie away from overalls! :rotfl: )

Okay. I just read the DCL website, and it still shows for 7-night cruises one formal and semi-formal night. :earsgirl:

DCL usually posts changes a few mos. ahead (such as REAS package.)

Kathleen, you tell your DH and DDs to pack the nice clothes you asked them to buy. And wear your formal! We'll be right there with you! :goodvibes (DH has already given me a hard time about all of the trips I've made back and forth to the malls!) :rotfl:

Believe me...I freaked out when Ms. Sunshine "informed" my DH of this...AND several other things we know not to be true!! I've worked out far to long & hard to get into my dress NOT to have a formal night!!!! :teeth:

Add Kelli and I to the anniversary list- This Saturday November 12th will be 22 years of wedded bliss.(She MIGHT be lurking, you never know.)

(How bout that fancy word?) Except maybe "bra"?

We celebrate 15 years on Friday. Gee, it'll be an anniversay heaven on the cruise :rotfl2: .

This is cool, just read on another thread:

Just a quick note on door signs. Not only have I seen lots of great signs people have made but I'm on deck 8 and several of the suites have door signs put up by the staff for birthdays and such.

Ocean Quest
My son is almost 12 and has spent a ton of time in the Quest. He loves it. He spends more time there then the Lab. There is a movie maker computer. It has some different objects (such as toy dinos or different Toy Story characters). You move them around and click the capture button. You do this several times then click play and it plays back the frames as a movie. He just loves it.

Same here! I finally found a dress that works for me (at 48, that's not easy!)

DW and I will celebrate our 20th anniv. next July. Just to show everyone how dedicated to Disney we are, we went to Disney World for our honeymoon. Gas in our area in north Florida is $2.51

Ron, I will feel sorry for you being the only male in your household. I'm the only male in my household too. Then again it's just the 2 of us. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Well, I have the next two weekdays off from work. Ahhhh, two whole days to think of nothing else but the Magic and CC!!!! :cool1:

I can't keep up with the chatting here!! Responding to a couple posts....

Lisa, stop lurking and say hello! Can't wait to meet you! I think My hubby Paul is lurking too.

Kathleen, there IS a formal night -- that was a DCL rep who didn't know what she was talking about. They sent a brochure for the tux rentals with our docs, seems pretty strange that they would do that if they had canceled formal night. If I'm wrong, don't tell my family, cuz they're all dressing up!

jobs.. my dh is a financial advisor and I am a full-time SAHM and part-time website owner (www.jordanpaperarts.com and www.scrapvillage.com).

gas.. It was $2.09 here yesterday, $2.25 today. It makes no sense to me why it fluctuates so much!!!

Anyone else getting really paranoid about germs right about now? Paul is flying to Phoenix for work tomorrow for 2 days. I just packed a full container of Airborne and a pocket size Purell and gave him a lecture on not touching anything, anyone, or using the airport bathroom. I just got the book "Germ Freaks guide to life" or something like that and I am freaking out right now about one of us getting sick before the cruise!!

If any one wants a cruise t-shirt, this is your last chance.

I will need to place the order by noon tomorrow, Nov. 10.

So far, I think only GdHarmon and Cody'smom have expressed an interest.

There need to be at least 12 shirts before I can place the order.

If we don't get to 12 by tomorrow, there will not be a third order.

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

Gina & Cody'smom...if there's not a min. order tomorrow...try what I'm trying. Copy the logo Andrew posted, paste it into Word or Power Point & print onto an Iron-on transfer sheet (WalMart). I found matching color T's @ Hobby Lobby (a local craft store), or you can try a screenprinter also. I haven't done the actual transfer yet, but hoping it will come out halfway decent! Better than NOT standing out in the port!! :teeth: Just a thought.
My DH has just recently decided that Alien Lime Green isn't so bad on him, so originally, we only bought them for our kids!

Laurie

OK... a more serious question from one too lazy to investigate and to those who are in the know...

timezones...

I know Mexico is in another zone but is cayman?... if so speaking on my terms EST meaning it is 10:41 here... what does that do for my life? do we gain an hour at cayman and two for costa? or are cayman and costa the same or .....or ... or...

anyone know?

Poor Lampy- :charac2: Two daughters- Hah! I've got three, and our dog is a female too. And I don't even have a "pop" machine to help me cope. My Mother In Law gave me a sign that says: "There is a special place in heaven for the Father of three daughters." Actually, I get treated like a king, so I am not complaining.

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

Andrew, your mother-in-law is sooooooooo right! I'm one of three daughters myself, and I want to give a medal to my father for surviving it all. :rotfl:

Yes, you're lucky too. :earsgirl:

Oh, yeah Tana! My whole family did a round of Airborne tonight just because several people around us at dinner out tonight were sneezing & coughing!!! My DH has to fly to Minneapolis on Sat. (brrrr :cold: ) so the Purell will be in his pocket too!! Better safe than sorry this close to cruisin'!

Playing Catch-Up

Hubby and I just celebrated 10 years in September. Went to Disney w/o kids. 1st Stay on property (Port Orleans) and had the free dining plan.

Cheapest gas prices around here are $2.39 (we're in New England)

Hubby and DD (8) are booked on a banana boat ride Friday at 11am

ICEMANPAD-We are staying at the Hampton Inn on Friday. We have a son who is Mason's age :)

Jobs: I'm a mom and short order chef (at least that's how it feels). Keep busy as a brownie leader and tiger cub leader. Hubby is a computer geek, but got promoted to director after spending 9 months in England last year. Unfortunately, DH is a bit of a beer snob after living abroad and drinking cast edition ales. He could teach the beer tasting class, but he'll go for the beer.

Doogie: May also want to chat onboard regarding your DVC points. Hubby would love to own, but I had purchased Westgate (no comments from the peanut gallery) before knowing about DVC and before meeting hubby.

I got to try out part of my pirate costume tonight. DD hit my arm as I was about to rub my eye and instead I stuck my finger right into it. I couldn't keep the eye open so I used my handy dandy pirate eye patch. At least the kids got a laugh out of it. pirate:

pirate: OUCH!! I bet it hurt but at the same time you made your kids laugh with you for using the pirate eye patch...GOOD MOM!
