Good Morning all!
It's a beautiful summer day here north of Atlanta!!! :sunny: Yes, we'll be breaking record highs for Nov. again today. Very wierd! Hard to pack up the kids shorts while they're still trying to wear them!!!

Get this...DH called DCL yesterday to get a measurement of how thick our suitcases could be and still slide under the bed. Reasonable enough... Well, this chick on the phone says "We don't allow suitcases under the bed unless they're the soft-sided duffles! You're only allowed 2...we've relaxed our dress-code so you don't need to bring much anyway! We don't even really have a formal night anymore...just casual. You don't need hard-sided luggage. It'll just have to be in your way if you do. It won't go under the bed!"

EXCUUUUUUSSSSSEEEE MEEEEE???!!! :earseek: Last time I checked WE were the ones paying here. Like Willie said ~
"I'm paying for that space, and by God, I'm gonna use it!" Exactly how are they planning on stopping us???!!!

Does anybody know how tall suitcases can be to still fit under the beds??? Cause we never got an answer from Ms. Sunshine!!!

Julia -

DH and I were married in 1985 also!

Kris

What month and day were you married? Our date was 5-25-85!

We are a DVC member, Beach Club...joined back in 2002? We did have two Disney Resorts: One in Vero Beach and the other in Hilton Head. That was back in 1998? I think... But we sold it and now came back to a DVC member again...It's really worth having it.

Molli and Bev: Thank you for the meet on Sunday. Again, I'm sorry I didn't get there any sooner. I wish we had more time...but we have more time on the BOAT!!! :teeth: :teeth: Bev-if you get the chance to talk to the person about me, let me know.

I know our's don't fit under the bed either. We usually unpack, stuff the suitcases inside of each other (3) then place them in the closet. Not even our carryon fits under the bed.

I agree with them... you really don't need many clothes. By day it's very very casual. I change for din-din, then right afterwards, I'm back into my shorts. Our 1st cruise we packed Wayyyyy to much.

WE LOVE our DVC; best vacation $$ ever spent, however we overbought. We're considering selling some of our contracts.

Laurie- It sounds like your DH spoke to the same DCL rep I spoke to when I called to link my reservation with the rest of the gang. I'd swear that they are now using a call center overseas. The lady I spoke with knew less about DCL than I did. When I asked her if she knew what rotation we would be assigned, she said 8:30, so I said, no not what seating, what rotation. She did not know what I was asking. :rolleyes1

Last year, we brought a ton of luggage. Much more than we needed- we were only on the 4 night. We were able to get all of the suitcases unpacked. There are plenty of places in the cabins to store things. All of the empty suitcases fit under the bed with no problem. I found it easier to lift the bed up and slide the suitcase under. I think that there was a rail that hung down a little, which made it hard to shove the bags under without lifting the bed. I think any standard size suitcase, hard or soft, would fit under the bed without a problem. There is plenty of room under the beds. Bring as much as you want, it is your vacation.

Hi Laurie

I don't remember last year, but after I emptied the suitcases, I had room to put in the closet. Of course, I did put the smaller suitcases inside the big ones to save room. Maybe somebody out there remember if they put the cases under the bed....sorry, I'm not much help.

Doogie- I love your photos. You guys really have a talent there in the sandcastle building department. Maybe you could give lessons. Your son has a nice fish there in the second photo. Maybe you could troll off of the Magic?

Julia ::MinnieMo

Julia and Kris- Congratulations on 20 years of marriage! Maria, you said you and Charlie will be at 20 next year. My DW and I were married on 8-1-87, so we have a little less than two year until our 20th. It sounds like there are a lot of women on the cruise lucky to be married to wonderful guys. :earboy2:

Thanks for the happy birthday wishes!

And for the happy anniversary wishes :-)

Andrew :rotfl2: , the ice carvng guy builds the sandcastle. I thought it would be funny to post!! They were making a huge pile of sand when we got off the ship last year with an endloader.... when we came back later in the day... the sandcastle was complete.

Are you DVC members also? We love it. We've exchanged to CO and are exchanging to Atlantis this summer. It's really not worth using points to cruise.

Here's my contribution to the cause of fueling the momentum:
