Doogie -Thanks for the info on Costa Maya.DH and I will have to look at these and decide.I would love to see the ruins.

Julia-We don't have any pirate stuff.I may go looking for stuff this weekend if not right after Thanksgiving.Yes,they give out the red bandanas at dinner pirate night.

Tri-circle-D-It is very sad what is going on down south. My uncle told me that this one did more damage he beliefed to Miami then Andrew did at least he doesn't remember this much.I hope and pray Eliss family is okay as well as others on this thread.I know in Miami they are suppose to be without power for 28 days at least that is what they were told. Are you going to the FL and Georgia game?We aren't.We will watch from home territory.

We like to say thank you too, to Doogie...very informative. Making another decision...again...how fun!!! :goodvibes

Zeke-Are you staying in a hotel the night before cruise? I don't remember if you are.

Maria-yep, that's right...the red bandanas.

Well gotta go to do more Faux painting for a client.
Chow!!!

Our whole family is dressing as pirates. I found us all costumes at our grocery store and they were on sale so I went for it. My son's costume comes from Disney Direct (the skeleton pirate). I also have put aside some mardi gras beads. I've read that they give you a pirate bandana at dinner. I found patches and clip on earrings at Wal Mart-cheap. OUr local dollar store had a bunch of pirate stuff too-spy glasses, hooks, etc.

Dressing for dinner: for formal nights hubby and son will be in a suit, I'm undecided yet (if I decide to go shopping in the next three weeks), otherwise my dress will be knee length. I bought DD a short sleeve red velvet dress in anticipation of a Christmas formal portrait so I want to find either a red or black dress to compliment. Casual nights DD will be in capri sets and son will wear khaki shorts or pants and either polo shirt or Hawaiian shirt.

Add me to the Birthday club, mine is Monday the 21st (formal night).

Costa Maya: has anyone heard about the bugs there? Last cruise my daughter got bit by something and her whole ankle swelled up. The ships doctor thought it was cellulitos and almost had us exit the boat in Key West on Mother's Day. I threw myself a pity party that night. I'll be packing stuff just in case, don't want a repeat.

CHUCK AND LISA EISS- If by some chance you get internet access and read this. Try to contact me with your address/phone(if working)

Willie Miller
work- 409-899-9531

cell- 409-781-2058

I can get generators, window a/c's, other things you will need to you if I know where to bring them.
Call me.

Now I'm very worried about Chuck and Lisa's whereabouts. Hope everything is okay. Waiting is hard to do.

Willie-If you talk to Lisa and Chuck my offer of them staying here still stands. We will help any way we can.I know there are some people down South that don't have telephone or power. My Uncle and Aunt have it phone no power, but my cousin doesn't have either.Hopefully,Lisa and Chuck see this message.

gfolchick-I am planning on packing a big bottle of Avon's SSS bath oil spray that works great for all types of bugs.I will have more then enough so anybody need some you know where to find us.I am bug prone, and this is the only stuff that works for me.I put that on my packing list as if not I would forget.

Before the fun stuff, yes our Metro this morning featured Weston on the front page and all of the folks waiting in line for gas, needless to say my first thought was about the Eiss Family.

Julia - No one said there wouldn't be any sequins!!! Just not a ball gown, your family looks beautiful and classic - we may not be as well put together but we will put on the attire! Molli will probably laugh when she reads your post as I have sent her pics of all my possible dresses!! Oh my, I got a beautiful pink one yesterday and it did have sequins (not all over) but I put it on my DH and DD said "its so pink" so that one's going back. More than likely I will be bring two black dresses and one purple (dark), all long and i believe all have a sequin or two! Actually the one I like best has several in gold and silver as well!! (Formal, semi and paolo (not necessarily in that order)).

Gfolchick - Yes I read about the bugs and all but DH are bug magnets!! I also read about large mosquitos and malaria...

Oh Julia, the pirate question - this is our first cruise so we haven't worn them before - we bought costumes for buycostumes.com - no eye patch here - i'd be overboard right there with you!!!

Sherri :wave2:

Doogie....tequila beach club? :earseek: :drinking1 Looks good to me.......

John.......that pic of you with you back to the camera w/you dis shirt on looks mighty familiar!

Julia - we are in 2048. The airline tickets were 390.44 with tax, luggage insurance and travel insurance. We were lucky and got them before the gas went sky high.

I am excited to see that Hunter will have other kids his age that he can hang around with. He loves going out of town on his birthday.

Tri-circle-d - Do we have pictures of what the t-shirts look like. I know that I can probably get my DH to wear one, I don't know about DS. :sunny:

Looking at the pictures of Formal Night, I realize that I will probably be WAY under dressed. I may have to go shopping tonight. :moped:

NO document dance in Missouri.

This was about as dressed up as I can stand to be while sailing.

Molli- I have to admit that is a cute model you have there! My digital camera died, so I can't post photos of my DD's in theirs, but I will eventually.

John/5J's- You go, man. I almost had a mutiny on my hands here too when I showed my kids the shirts. It was just last year that they were all fine with wearing matching t-shirts for my DW's surprise 40th B.D. party. I never even asked them about the cruise shirts, I just assumed that they would be thrilled. Well, as soon as I break them out, the oldest DD (14) and now a high school freshman tells us that there is no way she is going to look like a geek and wear that shirt. Of course her twin sisters (10) have to agree. Luckily, I am still the boss of the house (at least when the DW agrees with me or isn't around), so we are all going to be at the port in our shirts. I think.

Here is Erin on Pirate Night Dinner with her bandana provided by DCL. The menus were a pirate treasure map.

Maria- I am not going to make it to the Georgia game this weekend. My firm has been building a new office building which was supposed to be done on August 1st. We have had one setback after another, and it has cost us, but it looks like we will be moving in on Saturday. I am really going to be ready for our cruise!

Hello everyone-
I called my t-shirt connection. They can make more shirts. They want a minimum order of a dozen shirts. They will take about a week to get done. The final price will again depend on the number of shirts ordered and how generous I can get them to be with the price. Probably somewhere around $7 or $8 per shirt. I will ship them again via express mail if you want. That worked out very well. Everyone got theirs within two or three days of when I sent them- the postage cost varied between $4.50 to $8.00 and change (that was for 8 shirts in one package). I will also bring them to the port.

If you want to know what the shirts look like, take a look at Ohmom's post #2571 above. They are really nice quality shirts.

So far, there will be over 60 of us in those shirts on November 19th. Can you imagine what it would be like if we could get this to over 100?!

Here is the plan-If you want to order shirts, post your order on this thread. Tell me how many and what sizes. I would say that I should cut this off at 9 am next Tuesday, Nov. 1st. That will give them time to print the shirts and me time to get them to you.

I will have you send your payment once I ship the shirts. That way I will be able to tell you the final cost and the shipping costs.

OK, so if you thought you got left out, here is your second chance. You can get on the team, or be left out. This really will be the last chance.
