No Docs for us! :sad1:
We tortured ourselves tonight, we watched the recent DCL promo
dvd. Thinking of getting ready last year. We are in the planning stages for Disney Land next year and a cruise in a few.

This year instead of changing itineraries, we are changing diapers. :rotfl:

We had made a friend in Treasure Katch, Erica- from Germany. I hope someone can send our best to her for us.
I may try to get a picture of Zach and Rachel to her.

Doogie, keep those fish well fed for us. :fish:

Will DCl offer excursions, or do we have to book on our own?
DH and DS were doing that underwater nautilius thing on Cozumel- don't see anything similiar at Costa May, but there is one similiar at GC, so now it's time to start the juggling!!! Anyone have any recommendations or ideas for Costa Maya?

Maybe the change will free up some rooms from people who were in it for Cozumel... !! That could help me out with my dilemma!!!! Pam

Talked to DCL tonight and the plan is to have excursions for Costa Maya available for booking in the near future; hopefully by the end of the week. I don't know what they will be, but the choices should be available soon.

Anyone know about the "tag" game --- something about putting a sticker or something on each other's stateroom door --- sounds kind of fun, but I'm not sure how it goes??!!!

Okay, I have some "stupid questions"... Wait let me rephrase that... I would like to take advantage of the wisdom of the "repeat offenders" (I mean cruisers!!) in the group..

1. DO the guys usually do tuxes or just suits for formal/ semi formal? What about ladies attire? I know what dcl recommends, and what some in the the other threads have written, just wondered if Disers had a "special" dress code.

2. Given the "spirit" of the group I would think most of you get into the fun of pirates night. True?

3. Are khaki shorts with collared shirt suitable for an 8 yr old boy for dinner on casual nights?

You know, we keep getting these invitations to events at home with dress listed as things like "smart casual", "business casual" "dress casual", so it's kinda hard to figure out what DCL casual is!!!!

Don't forget to let me know about ordering shirts!!!! Pam

Zeke- :ssst: We got it covered on the "tag" game. If there's anyone else is doing it, let me know.

Codysmom-how many times have you cruise??? If none at all... well, it's worth it to get dressed up and feel like a princess on Formal night. I had a long blue dress... one of my DD wore long dress and the other wore below the knee. If I could only try to send a picture...I'll try. My DH and DS wore tux...only it's not really a tux...I took their black suit and bought a tux set(tux shirt with black buttons, tie, cumberbund, & cuff clips) and it looked great. It's cheaper than buying one and also renting. Now for the Semi-Formal, I wore a short black dress and my DH wore regular suit. My DS wore the black pants from suit and just put on shirt and tie no jacket. My DD's had on a short dress(right above the knee).

You asked about if Khaki shorts and collar shirt for casual nights...it should be fine. I say as long as you don't wear jeans, you should be okay on casual nights. I usually wear black slacks and then different top on casual nights. Sometimes summer dresses. Men could wear nice golf shorts and/or khaki pants would be fine.

The pirate night pirate: Since I was sick that night last year...I missed out all the fun...I saw in the earlier post is go to Party City and get some things there. I know Disney passed out some sort of a scarf...can't remember...but it sounds like fun.

I hope this helped you out...please let any of us know. Did you see the earlier post I sent on "what to bring and not to bring" list???? I'll look for the post and let you know.

I hope this works...got the instruction from Willie awhile back. Just now trying to get this to work. Anyway, this is the photo from last year Turkey cruise of my family on Formal night. As you can see, us girls resemble to our favorite Disney characters. I'm Cinderella, my oldest DD is Tinkerbell and my youngest DD is Belle...can you tell?

Maria-Don't worry...you didn't miss a thing...it's a game during our cruising...you'll find out. It's a lot of fun!!! ;)

Last year Turkey cruise meeting with other DIS'ers for the first time. As you can see, is John's lime green T-shirt. Yes, I know, it's spelled with a "J" instead of "G". Don't you get it??? We are the Five J's, so we just tweeked it up a little bit.

julia -- i got it! LOL love it and LOVE LOVE LOVE you all dress up like you're favorites!! Paige loves Tink too!

gotta do some reading on costa maya today -- heck with the laundry, cooking, BLEH!

cody'smom -- i have two DDs -- we have nice dresses, not ball gowns. think velvety material, dark colors. i have what i call my 'va-voom' dress for Palo. let's say i'm tanning topless for it :rotfl: -- don't get your hopes up guys, it's not ALL that!

my DH is wearing dress pants with a tweed jacket for all three dressup dinners, (including Palo)

I know Sherri (scorpio1112) son is wearing khaki shorts with dinner, unless she changed again!

on the note of birthdays -- not sure if mom mentioned it but my Dad is celebrating a birthday on Thanksgiving Day this year.

pirate night -- we just have eye patches. i bought some printable temporary tattoo paper, we'll have to try it and if it's good i'll print out some tattoos for our kids. Paige, my youngest, told me her best friend is dressing up as pirate for halloween this year and she asked her if she could borrow her costume for the cruise. her best friend is quite a bit tinier than Paige though, so i'll have to check into that. I do think some folks on here are going more gussied up though. my family isn't too game and that's ok. my DH has a cool tropical shirt for that night. pirates are in the tropics you know pirate: :earboy2:

Julia-Thanks!I can't wait to see what this game is all about. You all look fantastic on formal night.Great idea to dress up like your favorite characters.I love the lime t-shirts too.You will have to tell me how to upload the photos on here as I have no clue.I was going to try to do a live report on our cruise. My daycare parents enjoyed it last year, and it helped the kids not miss me too much as they read the reports to them. This year I am hoping to have photos if I can get away from having too much fun<G>.

Cody'smom,

We are all getting dressed up for pirate's night... I too was shocked that DH was into it so I figure it will be a great time and one less dinner attire to worry about !!!!

Molli "was" right ;) my DS 8 was going to where the khaki's and dress shirt and might still BUT from what I've read it almost seems like jeans area more acceptable than shorts -- so I'm going to make that call once we are onboard!

My DH will be in a suit on both occaisions and I will be in a long "dressy" dress... again not a ball gown!

Hey Gang!
Been lurking when we can, playing catch up the rest of the time...glad everyone is well after the many storms this summer!!

I'm not sure what news coverage is being given to this story in the rest of the nation, but our friends in South Florida are not doing well at all. See this article from today's St. Pete Times:

http://www.sptimes.com/2005/10/26/State/S_Florida_could_stay_.shtml

It seems like every ding dong on TV loves to rush into the areas that are about to be hit by the storms so we can all watch them stand in the wind, and then they hightail it out of there and we all tend to forget that there are people suffering with terrible hardships for weeks and months afterwards. I think Willie knows this first hand.

The Eiss family (IceManPad) hasn't been heard from since the storm. The t-shirts I sent to them are the only ones that have not been delivered. Willie said yesterday that he was trying to get ahold of them, but he was not able to. Let's hope and pray that they are OK. To me, it looks like Wilma went right over them.

Oh come on Sherri!! A long sequence gown would be great on you! :goodvibes What is Dressy Dress...what color are you wearing??? just curious :hyper2: I'm either going to wear what I wore last year or find something else...hopefully there's a great sale out there.

Jeans we wore during breakfast and run around type thing...I don't remember during dinner...of course I was just having fun and didn't pay any attention of anybody wearing jeans...

Sherri, what did you guys wear on pirate night pirate: ? If I wear an eyepatch, I'm not sure if I'm going to see clear since my eyes are getting worse...I might fall over board. :teeth:

Julia ::MinnieMo

Oh gosh,

I am so worried about the Eiss family. I will be waiting to hear if they are ok. And praying for them. What a horrible thing to have to go through.
