 hi friends

the excitement on this thread is palpable :disrocks:

we booked through Platinum Travel (inkkognito) 08/04 and NO DOCS here! there is no rhyme or reason to this is there. they are scattered about around the country with NO PATTERN!! i watch CSI, i can't figure this one

i think they dump them ALL off at UPS and the fate is in their little brown trucks

garage sale was pretty successful -- i've had some wang-bangers in the past but this year just didn't have much in the way of toys, mainly clothing, but still brought in about $100 for a pedicure and martini tasting! i guess i'll share any balance after those events! oh yea, wine tasting tickets too!

speaking of, should we all get tickets at the same time on embarktion day? well those who want to go with me at least puckerup:

Tana -- i have most of our clothing laid out -- dress pants, dress shirt and ties with tweed sport coat for DH for semi/formal/Palo. For brunch he's wearing khaki shorts and a multi-blue tropical type shirt. not way loud but cool

i'm wearing dresses for the 3 main nights (semi/formal/Palo) none of which are 'gown' but snazzier than church or work clothes. semi dress is a burgundy velvety material, hits just at my knees. Palo is my va-voom dress, black with open back, halter top style. Formal night is most conservation, patterned knee length dress in black, silver and white; sleeveless tank top styly (wide shoulder straps) for brunch i'm wearing a retro-patterned hot pink, black casual skirt with black stretch short sleeve shirt

tmi? sorry

julia! i'm soooo glad you got flights! i was getting worried about you! we are flying in late thursday Nov 17 and staying one night at BWV courtesy of bfosbenner DVC point rental! can't wait! then friday night my parents and my family are staying with an old Dis friend who lives in Cocoa; then off to port form her house sat a.m.

bill -- thanks for the tip on the wal-mart brand camera, i'm willing to try knowing someone else has given it a thumbs-up! i too error on the side of caution when it comes to priceless pictures! glad to hear Zach is doing well

BB -- our oldest Taylor turned 13 this past August, she's a pretty mature 13. She will probably not think the Oceaneer Lab is ok for someone of her life experience :cool2: she is much looking forward to the Stack

lanyards -- well, please don't laugh BB who is very into pin collecting b/c we have lanyards from a Kellogg's rebate two years ago. but they have LIME GREEN mickey heads on them and i just LOVE that! we pin trade strictly for fun -- and so i'm not into spending tons on it when I can. who am i kidding?

time to pack up garage sale leftovers

I am gone for a day,and I come back to tons of messages. You all are making me so excited. We tried to add dh niece to our ressie, but when I called this morning they said the ship was full.Oh well! She will just have to go with us next time. She was disappointed.I asked DCL if they had mailed out our docs, and she told me not yet. They usually don't get mailed out til two to three weeks before cruise cm said.I told her not as some people on our thread have gotten them, and the last cruise we went we had them four weeks before cruise.

gfolchick-The colada at the shop was delicious. Thanks for the recipe.I will have to try it.That would be great if we had a blender onboard. We could all have a guavaberry colada.

ohMom-I agree the excitment on the thread is great. It sounds like your garage sale went great.I am glad.

julia-That is great that you got airline tickets. We are staying at Disney's Pop Century for the night if not we would join you at the get together at the Radisson.

DOOGIERUNNER-Not another ts.Hopefully, they will be all gone by the time we sail out.

Scorpio1112-That sounds easy enough to order stuff online as far as the Dept go.I will have to try that.I went looking a little bit yesterday, and I liked the selections online better then the stores.

The company is all gone, and now I will crash for the rest of the day!

Happy Sunday to you all!

Hi guys -

We were out of town for the weekend. Went camping at Kankakee River SP - wow, the weather could not have been better. Took a LONG bike ride on Saturday. So much fun, but now we'll be putting the popup away for the winter -- sad!

Catching up on notes --- we will be at the Radisson on Friday night. We are coming into Orlando on Friday AM and still haven't worked out transportation to the port. Can't decide on limo vs renting a van. There are six of us.

I have teen girls -- my eldest will turn 19 on the 22nd during the cruise. My 2nd is 17 and my 3rd turns 14 on Halloween.

Then a son who is 9.

Still haven't received docs yet from All Seasons Travel. And haven't started packing yet either!!

I would love to have magnetic door signs this time around so have to get going trying to figure that one out. We have two separate staterooms, so need two of them. If anyone is proficient at doing that and would like to have a Shoreside Survival Kit....hmmmm....maybe we can work out a trade!!!!

Can't wait to meet the group at the Radisson and the rest onboard. Can't believe it is ALMOST HERE!!!

Kris,

A son who is 9!!!! May I ask is he a young 9 or a mature 9??? My son will be turning 8 on November 2nd and this is the first sign of a boy anywhere near his age.... or perhaps even a boy :rotfl2:

I think my son can be classified as being a "young" 8 BUT... with a way mature 9 year old daughter it is so hard to tell... (she'll be turning 10 on Dec. 17th)

Sherri

Hi Sherri -

Hard question! Since he's my only son its hard for me to judge! He will be 10 in January. He is quite shy and slow to warm up. But if friends approach him, he is receptive. He loves video games and was extremely negative about going to the Oceaneer's Lab last September (2004) UNTIL he saw the giant Nintendo screen. He plays well with his 8 year old second cousin (girl) and has friends on the block of all ages -- I think it would be great to "hook" up our sons together. David would need a bit of a push to interact, but once he is comfortable I think it would be awesome!

What is your son's name?

Kris

Kris,

My son's name is Jacob and he loves video games as well. He is (I think) outspoken so perhaps this would be a plus... we will also be at the Radisson on Friday sooooo if those of us who will be there decide to get together it'd be a start!

Sherri

Hi Everyone,

Well just caught up on all the mail. I was in Florida, (Lakeland area) for a few days. I will send out another mailing of the latest spread sheet. I hope I have everyones info.

Haven't received DOC's here yet on Long Island but the rain has finally stopped for today, more tomorrow, expected.

We're getting into Fl on Thursday morning and staying at DVC Wilderness Villas. Renting a SUV from Budget for the two days as we will be running around seeing our FL property and checking on the progress of our Manufactured Dome home being built in FL.

Off to work, have to catch up on work missed from last week.

Everyone have a "Magical Day"

If you buy the disposable underwater cameras, remember to use a sharpie to put your name on it. Last year we were on the stingray boat and the kids sitting next to us had a waterproof camera just like ours. Well, we got some great family pics. Only it was not our family. The cameras got switched somehow.....Some family has a great photo of me playing with a Moray Eel!

Willie

Willie,

Excellent tip - thanks!! One more for the to-do list!

I looked on Walmart today and could not find the camera that was mentioned... i sorted by price and got up to around $35.00 and stopped...

I went out on amazon and after reading the reviews between kodak and fugi, I went with the fugi:

"Fujifilm Quick Snap Waterproof 35mm Single Use Camera" at $8.99 a pop, with free shipping - not sure how much I had to spend to get the free shipping but I did get it - I ordered some books - am hoping this is the first vacation I actually can relax and read a bit!

STILL NO DOCS HERE :confused3 ... hey does that mean us doc-less people are getting a fantastic upgrade :rotfl2:

Sherri

Buddy Bear -- You got an uprade?? Was it a freebie?

Sherri -

Still no docs here either!
