Mrs. TCD really does like Oprah and Martha. Mrs. TCD really does not like to hear about misbehavior by TCD. I know it is hard to take me seriously, but I am being serious. If I was home, I would go ahead and take some photos of our house. Mrs. TCD is a serious decorator. She even has the oldest DD watching Oprah. It was just the other night that oldest DD is telling Mrs. TCD what was on Oprah that day. Something about 90% of women wearing the wrong bra size. You know TCD is the only male in the house, and he doesn't like hearing this kind of talk, that's how I remember it.
Mrs. TCD subscribes to the Oprah magazine, and she used to subscribe to Martha's magazine. These are always in our home library, and sometimes I even look at the Oprah mag. That Dr. Phil is really something. I also always read the last page where Oprah says what she knows for sure. Old Oprah is a little full of herself, isn't she.
Mrs. TCD took the TCD girls to Chicago two summers ago. They went to the American Girl Place, Navy Pier, some museum, but the highlight of their trip was when they saw Oprah driving around in her Mercedes! She allegedly gave them a thumbs up. Mrs. TCD had her photo taken next to Oprah's car.
Mrs. TCD actually has a bicycle basket that Mr. TCD thoughtfully purchased for her from Martha's catalog, back when Martha had a catalog. Mrs. TCD has a t-shirt that says "What Would Martha Do?"
Mrs. TCD really does like Oprah. Mrs. TCD really likes Martha. She really does not like it when people tell her that they have or had a pet named Molly; and for some reason, that happens a lot. I am just trying to be helpful here. Trust me.

1. Is it acceptable for 8 year old boys to wear shorts on casual dinner night?
2. DO we need to bring any "cool weather" clothing other a sweater for movies or late nights outside?
3. Will DH be too unconfortable (warm) in long sleeve shirt at dinner on casual night? Thanks, Pam
Lots of last minute stuff today....... Then tomorrow bright and early,we're off!!!!

The Flippin' List -- yes, it awaits on my LAPTOP and again, I am on the DESKTOP. I hope I'll get it updated before I leave, but that remains to be seen. I still need to PACK (yes, I do) and print out our boarding passes and all of our other reservation information, etc.
Housesitting/petsitting instructions....final house cleaning, etc. Of course, I need to be on the computer right now![]()
Anyway, just wanted to mention that Oprah isn't really "old" you know, she is actually my age.
And I actually was on the Oprah show (in the audience that is) way back when it was possible to get tickets. At the time, it was impossible to get tickets to the Bozo Show, but a piece of cake to get tickets to Oprah. Funny, how times change.
OK, but here is a real tidbit to share....back after I had my first child (yeah, the blue haired one), Oprah's producers actually CALLED me at home and asked me to be a GUEST on the show. Are you wondering if I'm a closet celebrity?
Well, I'm not!
What happened is that a friend of mine was watching Oprah and they announced that they were looking for people who had lost their job due to pregnancy discrimination or whatever you might call that (lawyers help me out here). And seeing as this had happened to me, I called in and gave my story to the secretary. The next day, the producers asked me to be on the show and talk about it.
Yikes! Several reasons prevented me from doing so, the number one being extreme stagefright. Remember, I told you (and no one believes me) that I am actually very quiet and reserved and I would have died rather than be on national tv. The other reason was having a four week old infant who didn't sleep at night at all and when she was awake, spent her leisure time screaming. Later, she dyed her hair blue.
So, that is my claim to fame, my lost 15 minutes of stardom.
Oh well!

Tri-circle-D said:Hey Laurie- I'm sure you will check this board again from the airport; how can you resist? The temp should be in the low 70's in Orlando when you arrive. It might still be a little cloudy, but don't worry, it is just a front moving through, and you are in for some nice weather through our sail away on Saturday, at least.
See you at the port on Saturday, bright and early!

Re: Mrs TCD, I want to get this straight. Should I or should I not mention that I used to have a beautiful pit bull named Molly. But I have a hard time talking about her. I get kinda teared up. See, she was killed when the front porch fell on her. Of course it never would have fell on her if that 300 pound, 3 sandwich eating brother in law had not been jumping up and down on it. He had just won some lottery money and was really pumped up.
It was great that he won the lottery. But we lost good old Molly Girl that day.
We honor her memory each year on the date by taking a day off of work.

Tri-circle-D said:Dubbya- This is a beautiful, but sad story. I have mixed emotions here. Should I be happy for your family, or sad? Wow, the irony of it all. Life can be so unfair sometimes. This is almost like a Greek tragedy. I think Mrs. TCD will love this story! Please make a point of telling it to her.
