Gina, I'm with you! I'm getting really scared!

Andrew, You are really making me laugh... how will we ever prevent ourselves from "gawking" at Mrs. TCD????

Sherri

I think I will introduce myself as Gina Stewart-Winfrey. :rotfl2:

Yo, Sherri (speaking w/ Rocky Balboa accent)!

Mrs. TCD really does like Oprah and Martha. Mrs. TCD really does not like to hear about misbehavior by TCD. I know it is hard to take me seriously, but I am being serious. If I was home, I would go ahead and take some photos of our house. Mrs. TCD is a serious decorator. She even has the oldest DD watching Oprah. It was just the other night that oldest DD is telling Mrs. TCD what was on Oprah that day. Something about 90% of women wearing the wrong bra size. You know TCD is the only male in the house, and he doesn't like hearing this kind of talk, that's how I remember it.

Mrs. TCD subscribes to the Oprah magazine, and she used to subscribe to Martha's magazine. These are always in our home library, and sometimes I even look at the Oprah mag. That Dr. Phil is really something. I also always read the last page where Oprah says what she knows for sure. Old Oprah is a little full of herself, isn't she.

Mrs. TCD took the TCD girls to Chicago two summers ago. They went to the American Girl Place, Navy Pier, some museum, but the highlight of their trip was when they saw Oprah driving around in her Mercedes! She allegedly gave them a thumbs up. Mrs. TCD had her photo taken next to Oprah's car.

Mrs. TCD actually has a bicycle basket that Mr. TCD thoughtfully purchased for her from Martha's catalog, back when Martha had a catalog. Mrs. TCD has a t-shirt that says "What Would Martha Do?"

Mrs. TCD really does like Oprah. Mrs. TCD really likes Martha. She really does not like it when people tell her that they have or had a pet named Molly; and for some reason, that happens a lot. I am just trying to be helpful here. Trust me.

OH no....running around like a madwoman, yet I need to check here and see what's up.

The Flippin' List -- yes, it awaits on my LAPTOP and again, I am on the DESKTOP. I hope I'll get it updated before I leave, but that remains to be seen. I still need to PACK (yes, I do) and print out our boarding passes and all of our other reservation information, etc.

Housesitting/petsitting instructions....final house cleaning, etc. Of course, I need to be on the computer right now :rolleyes1

Anyway, just wanted to mention that Oprah isn't really "old" you know, she is actually my age.

And I actually was on the Oprah show (in the audience that is) way back when it was possible to get tickets. At the time, it was impossible to get tickets to the Bozo Show, but a piece of cake to get tickets to Oprah. Funny, how times change.

OK, but here is a real tidbit to share....back after I had my first child (yeah, the blue haired one), Oprah's producers actually CALLED me at home and asked me to be a GUEST on the show. Are you wondering if I'm a closet celebrity?

Well, I'm not!

What happened is that a friend of mine was watching Oprah and they announced that they were looking for people who had lost their job due to pregnancy discrimination or whatever you might call that (lawyers help me out here). And seeing as this had happened to me, I called in and gave my story to the secretary. The next day, the producers asked me to be on the show and talk about it.

Yikes! Several reasons prevented me from doing so, the number one being extreme stagefright. Remember, I told you (and no one believes me) that I am actually very quiet and reserved and I would have died rather than be on national tv. The other reason was having a four week old infant who didn't sleep at night at all and when she was awake, spent her leisure time screaming. Later, she dyed her hair blue.

So, that is my claim to fame, my lost 15 minutes of stardom.

Oh well!

:smooth: Kris

Ok, folks, Dubya is back on the computer. Hide the wemens and chillins.

a couple last minute questions concerning dress:
1. Is it acceptable for 8 year old boys to wear shorts on casual dinner night?
2. DO we need to bring any "cool weather" clothing other a sweater for movies or late nights outside?
3. Will DH be too unconfortable (warm) in long sleeve shirt at dinner on casual night? Thanks, Pam

Lots of last minute stuff today....... Then tomorrow bright and early,we're off!!!!

Pam -

Can't really answer the question about shorts for your son. I've read that some dress in shorts for Pirate night. :confused3

We're bringing windbreakers for nights out on the deck. We haven't sailed in November before, but we're guessing it will be cooler. :cold:

My DH wore long sleeve shirts almost every night in the dining rooms, as it is cool sometimes. (I brought a shawl too, if I was wearing a sleeveless dress.)

Hope this helps. :earsgirl: Only two more days! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cool1:

Kris- You have got to tell the Oprah story to Mrs. TCD. She will be all over that like stink on a monkey (I love that phrase Black Hawk Bill- they say "like white on rice" in these parts of Florida).

Also, unless I missed it (and I doubt that since I have nothing better to do than to study each an every post), you did not share with us the origin of your DIS name. Who is Zeke, and what's with the 11?

Thank you, and enjoy your packing.

Andrew,

Re: Mrs TCD, I want to get this straight. Should I or should I not mention that I used to have a beautiful pit bull named Molly. But I have a hard time talking about her. I get kinda teared up. See, she was killed when the front porch fell on her. Of course it never would have fell on her if that 300 pound, 3 sandwich eating brother in law had not been jumping up and down on it. He had just won some lottery money and was really pumped up.
It was great that he won the lottery. But we lost good old Molly Girl that day.
We honor her memory each year on the date by taking a day off of work.

We are packed and ready to head to the big city for an airplane ride tonight. We leave Houston at 9:00 PM tonight. Arrice at MCO at midnight.

Hey Laurie- I'm sure you will check this board again from the airport; how can you resist? The temp should be in the low 70's in Orlando when you arrive. It might still be a little cloudy, but don't worry, it is just a front moving through, and you are in for some nice weather through our sail away on Saturday, at least.

See you at the port on Saturday, bright and early!

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

TIS TRUE, TIS TRUE!!! My name is Laurie & I have a DIS BOARD addiction!
50 min. & counting till we get the kids from school...I don't know why we even bothered...they couldn't possibly focus...at least they're out of our hair!!! I'm estimating my very strong 9yr.old DD can haul 12 Coronas in her "Backpack"...got the limes in my purse!!

Thanks for so many great laughs to keep me sorta sane!!
Seeee Yaaaaaa!

Priscilla- We were on the Wonder last year at this time. We were on the four night that ended on Thanksgiving morning. I remember on the last night of our cruise (Wednesday), the TCD kids and I were swimming in the Goofy pool at aroung midnight as we were sailing back to PC. I remember it was warm, the stars were shining, and thinking, there are a ton of people who are freezing their hineys (excuse my language) off back in the US, and here we are, swimming at midnight in the middle of the ocean.

And BTW where is Mr. Mickeyhugger? Put him back on here to take some more swipes at Lampy!

Please don't tell Mrs. TCD about the cussing (hiney).

Let me get this straight. Mareka and Ken met VIA CB radio?

And yall call me a redneck? At least I met Kelli at a family reunion.

Dubbya- This is a beautiful, but sad story. I have mixed emotions here. Should I be happy for your family, or sad? Wow, the irony of it all. Life can be so unfair sometimes. This is almost like a Greek tragedy. I think Mrs. TCD will love this story! Please make a point of telling it to her.

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

Lampy,

Are you bringing "Tricky Dick Nixon"? We can really dress him up and get some good pics. Sort of like the roaming gnome. Remember, you'll never gnome alone. Er, roam alone.

Golly! Y'all are headin' to the big city! I wish I could see it. I'll bet there hasn't been such a sight since Uncle Jed and the rest of the Clampetts arrived in Beverly Hills.

W- You know I'm kidding here, right? OK, good. I don't need you on my bad side. I might need to crash on your verandah when Mrs. TCD locks me out of the cabin.

Andrew, since your wife is named Molly, and I used to have a Pit Bull named Molly, I think that there is some Karma/Deja Vu working here! Do you think that for sentimental reasons, when I see her around the ship, could I pet her head and give her a milkbone? Molly loved those. It would really make me happy.
