November 15, 2008 7 night Western 11/15/08 11-15-08

Hi All!

So sorry I've been MIA for the last few days. We have been sooo busy!!! The kids go back to school next week - 1/2 day on Thursday and full day on Friday. I should finally have a bit of time to cruise plan and get started on my packing! I hope to chat with you all a bit more too! ;)

I'll try and get the fish extender schedule posted tomorrow.

99 days! ;)

Hi Everyone.

I think we will just be wearing Pirate T-shirts for Pirate Night. Maybe I can find some cheap Post Halloween costumes and we may kick it up a notch:lmao:

Today is 97 days away.

Good luck everyone making ressies on the 90 day mark. Sadly I will have to wait till 75 days.
Let us know how you make out with the ressies.

Hi Everyone!

Well, we decided to fly in another day early....so now we'll have 3 nights and 2 days at WDW prior to the cruise :cool1: :cool1:

I also redeemed Air Miles for 4 hopper passes (7 days) with no expiry. Woo Hoo! We'll use these this time and for when we come to Disney World in 2010.

So, now I think we're doing:

Thurs (13th) - Magic Kingdom
Fri (14th) - Hollywood Studios & Animal Kingdom
Sat - CRUISE!!!! :woohoo:

Man, it's going to be a slooooooooow 3 months.

DS starts kindergarden in the fall, so at least we'll have something to occupy us.

Formal Night was the same night as the Captains Gala, which is usually on Day 6 on the Western Cruise according to the Itinerary's I've seen. Anyone read or experienced anything differently?

I have a Palo question for everyone, when is the best time to dine? We have 8 of us who want to dine at Palo and we have heard it's best right at sunset because of the view. We dined at 8:00 last cruise and loved the restaurant but admittedly didn't really pay attention to what was beyond the glass since it was dark all ready. When have you gone? When would you suggest booking? Castaway Club booking window opens up this coming week, so I want to be ready!

We have booked a Wild Dolphin Excursion out of Key West and have a group of 10 with 3 additional spots available for the private charter if anyone is interested. It's on a Catamaran which takes you out to see the Dolphins and then snorkeling at a shipwreck. We have a group going to do the Royal Swim at Cozumel as well, I cannot wait for this one! We are doing an excursion on Waverunners at Grand Cayman, snorkeling, stop at Stingray City and then off to play on Waverunners! Castaway Cay we want to do everything....still trying to figure out that day!

Audie, I am interested in the wild dolphin excursion in Key West. There are three of us. Let me know the details. I also am curious on information about your Grand Cayman excursion. I have already booked our dolphin experience in Cozumel. So excited as I love dolphins and have been waiting for my DD and I to do this.:yay:

Wow We cant believe this summer has flew by so quickly! looks like we have alot to catch up on on the dis board! lots of new people..WELCOME! Im actually having a key lime pie yougurt for lunch right now cause..I cant wait till key west! and I dont want to be tempted to bake the real thing..got all the ing in my frig. Hubby is on my case cause..Ive been to busy to workout and now i have some weight to loose before the cruise..or my vow renewal dress wont fit!:scared1: anyone else?

Our trip plans keep changing..we were going to do the boat rental on key west but opted to walk around and play it by ear.

We are going to Mr. sanchos on cozumel(i want to ride a horse on the beach)
and Boatswains beach at grand cayman(dd10 loves turtles) so this looks like a great place to go. Was wondering if anyone else has any of the same plans?

Michelle:laundy: who has way to much housework to do today

Me Too! I could do with losing about 10lbs since I have just gained 5lbs having 2 weeks off work:eek:

We have not decided about Grand Cayman yet either Stingray City or the turtle farm.

Help!!

From those of you who have booked the dolphin swims at Chankanaab..

I have just read on their website that you do not get a refund if you cancel within 4 days. Does that mean if we can't dock then I will lose $700+:scared1:
I need to get my excursions sorted out quickly before the $/£ rate falls any more!

Dont worry, if we cant dock you will get a refund. I made sure of that before I booked. It does say it on the website somewhere.

Dillon and Trevor's Pirate Costimes came yesterday while I was at work. Dillon convinced my Mom that I would let him open it so when I got hime he was dressed up to surprise me. The costume is adorable. No idea what Derrick and I will do, but at least the boys will be decked out!!

No word from Teva on our Official Meeting yet, will keep you posted!

Thanks Dana
I had a reply today to an e-mail I sent on Wed. Here it is

If for any reason your boat is delayed or diverted, causing you to miss your program, you would be entitled to a full refund as long as we receive by fax or e mail a copy of the letter (with logo) issued by the cruise ship stating the situation. In case that Dolphin Discovery would be forced to cancel your program for any reason you will receive a full refund.

Phew!

Hi Everyone! I was reading here on the DIS boards that ships are decorated for Christmas starting Nov 15th. Do you think this means a delay to get on the ship?

Also, I'm trying to figure out what we're going to do on the morning before the cruise....I was thinking of trying for another Character breakfast, but I'm wondering what would we do with all of our luggage while we're eating? Thoughts?

What is everyone else doing on the morning of the cruise?

I can't believe it's getting soooo close!

Alot of the turnaround work on the ships is done the night before you arrive back in port, I would assume much of the Christmas decorating will be done while we sleep. I hope this is a reality, I'd love to see the ships all decked out for the holidays!

Good Morning!

I hope you all are having a great weekend!

I've updated post #474, page 32 with the delivery date list... I think I've accomodated all of your requests. (If not, please let me know!) I went ahead and scheduled 2 deliveries on each sea day and no deliveries for the last day since we'll be packing up our loot (and fish extenders) at this time. By the way, did you know that we'll need to have our bags completely packed and outside the stateroom door by 10 p.m. Friday night? :scared:

Also, if everyone could please PM your stateroom number to me (or post to this thread), I can get our participant list updated.

We board the ship 90 days from today!!!

I was on the computer last night at 11 p.m. Eastern and was able to book our Palo brunch, dinner, and book our parasailing excursion at Castaway Cay! :thumbsup

Here's what we got:

Palo Brunch ~
Monday @ 11:00 a.m.

Palo Dinner ~
Friday @ 6:00 p.m.

Parasailing @ Castaway Cay ~
Friday @ 10:30 a.m.

I'm so excited to have that out of the way.

Thanks for sorting out the Fish extenders Angie. Since we are doing the same day do you want to split it am/pm, I don't mind which one I do.

Glad to see you got your ressies, I will have to be up at 5am to book mine:eek:

Sounds great! :thumbsup2 I think I might do better with p.m. since we are doing our Palo brunch that morning.

Oh my!!! 5 am? Good luck getting your ressies!

The 11 p.m. booking time worked great for me... especially since it was a Saturday night. I just realized that I wrote 11 p.m. Eastern when I meant that I was on at 12 a.m. Eastern/ 11 p.m. Central time... I'm really not trying to confuse anyone!

:wave2:

I have read a few posts saying DCL is not holding back ressies until the 75-day mark for 1st time cruisers and that it's basically 1st come, 1st served. I don't know how true this is and as far as I know, they are still holding back a few ressies for booking on the day of boarding.

I just noticed the following and thought this might help some of you a bit in your planning...

*All reservations are gone for High Tea.

*Brunch reservations are gone for tables of 1-2, but still available for tables of 3-4.

*There are only a few time slots so far that are not available for Dinner ressies (just 9 time slots for the entire week). The earliest ressies available are at 6 or 6:30 p.m. and the latest are at 8:30 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. depending on the day.
