November 13, 2011 Mexico on the Wonder

Yeah! :cool1: Always exciting to get an assignment.

Hmm.. Maybe it depends on how many people you have or what type of cabin you want, because when I checked 10A and above there area definitely more than 12 Staterooms open. Now the Verandah categories seem to be full, but that is probably because they offered KSF (kids Sale Free) for families in Verandah rooms. Now when I checked I was checking for 2 Adults. I was seeing about 8 staterooms in each category. Now because there is KSF offered on this cruise, might mean there will be more kids than normal on the cruise.

Believe me DCL will try to fill every cabin, by offering discounted rates, etc... It might not be a "Full ship" because there might be 2 people in many staterooms instead of 3 to 4 that a stateroom can hold.
Is it really that bad if the ship sails full? I figured with all the different kid activities it woudnt feel to crowded ...??

I think every cruise is different... You might see more kids in the pool area, but there is so much to do and so many different places to hang out that we have never felt like there were crowds.

But... some of the things that you might want to do, you might want to sign up for right away... Here are some things you should go to Guest services the first day and pick up. do this after lunch and before you go to your stateroom: If they have the children's tea with characters, either called Disney friends Tea or tea with Alice; Any wine or alcohol tastings (charge for this), Galley tour... anything else I am missing?

lee122668: Another from Illinois!!! Where in Illinois are ya? We're North of Chicago in Gurnee. :)

I checked the Disney Crusie Line website.....under reservations
Thanks...I checked... got mine...kinda bummed though cuz I'm on the second deck :( I've never been that low on a ship...does anyone know if it's going to be a lot more "rocky" at this level???

Deck 2 isn't bad at all. We've been on deck 2 a couple of times. I think with the rocking, it's worse the higher you go.

I agree with Shauna - Deck 2 is a great deck to be on. I was a bit worried about being forward on the ship, but never noticed any movement.

As folks are getting their cabin assignments is there any pixie dust? Meaning are you booked in one category and your cabin is in higher category. Our last 2 cruises we did not have assigned cabins and booked cat 11 and got cat 9.

Going to call my TA now to prepay our tips, so that is out of the way.

Are you allowed to pay tips with cash in envelopes or does it have to be charged if you dont prepay?

Did you pre pay your tips through your travel agent?

Yes... Since we booked with the TA, Disney will not talk to us about anything with Money regarding our cruise. So I just emailed our TA and asked her to prepay the tips on our CC on file.

Are you allowed to pay tips with cash in envelopes or does it have to be charged if you dont prepay?

You have options you can do... 1. PrePay before starting the cruise and then the night they give you the tip envelopes, they also give you vouchers showing you prepaid. You just add these to the envelope

2. use cash, which you put in the envelopes and give to everyone the last evening.

3. Charge to your Stateroom at guest services and they will give you a voucher.

If I remember right you can just drop the envelopes in a box outside of guest services or you can directly hand to your stateroom host or servers.

I just read on another link that DCL is now automatically charging all gratuities to your on board account. If you want to pay cash you need to go to guest services and change it.
Correct me if i'm wrong.....

We are getting so excited....Has anyone got their pirate costumes? pirate:

Brens, Things might have changed... We always prepay now.

DD has her Pirate costume. Got a good deal on it in the Summer from one of the online costume companies. I think I will forgo dressing up and just wear something that might represent a pirate (striped shirt )

Cruise docs, wow! I guess the cruise is coming right up.

I think I have all of the FE info for those of you who have signed up. Anyone else want to join? 10 days left to sign up, then I'll email out the info so everyone can get working on the FE gifts.
