I am still thinking about my FE gifts but just wanted to ask if we put our disboards name with the gifts or our names or nothing at all.

HI! The FE swap involves bringing little gifts that you leave in the FE of those participating. You can leave a gift for the cabin or for each individual person. Gifts that we included/received when we participated last year were postcards, pencils, magnets, key chains, picture frames, coloring books, silly bands, candy, disney music cds, pirate tatoos and necklaces, and such. I think that most people just delivered gifts at one point during the cruise and not each day. It's fun (especially if you have little ones) to have treats when you leave/come back to your cabin. It's also fun to deliver them.

Let us know if you'd like to participate. Just trying to get together the Minnie group now. Ellen is the organizer of the group, so she will let you know more details if you'd like to join.

Totally up to you and your family whether you include your disboard name, family name, or no name with your FE gift. I personally think it's nice to include a name so the recipient can thank the gift giver if they see them on the ship, or by e-mail or PM via the Disboard when they return home.

There's a fish shaped clip next to your stateroom door. It's used by the crew to provide you with cruise communications. You attach a pocket organizer to the clip which "extends" the fish, hence a Fish Extender, FE. Your cruise meet members and you exchange small gifts by placing them in the FE. You can either purchase or make the gifts which can have a theme such as "cruise" and/or Disney, or be something from your hometown, state/province or country.

Hopefully we'll get a few more people interested in participating in the "Minnie" group and maybe some of the "Mickey" members will want to be in both groups!

In response to your question about WDW resorts, we loved the Polynesian and the Beach Club, but I really want to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge on our next visit.

Will having a cabin on desk 12 pose an issue? I was not sure if the access to these cabins are restricted, my guess is no. Or is just the lounge restricted?(True DCL newbie question)

Ok, great! From what I read there are times during the day when access is restricted to the concierge staterooms. At those times your FE gifts can be given to a concierge CM for delivery to your stateroom.

Right now, including your family, there are three staterooms in the Minnie FE group. You can give one gift per SR, one per person, or one for the SR and one for each child in that SR. As soon as we have five SRs for the Minnie group we'll devlop a list of names, ages (kids) and SR #s. Send me a PM with any questions you may have.

YAY!!! The Minnie group is growing--woo hoo!! Thanks, Ellen, for posting all of the helpful information for the FE (fish extender) swap. Even if it's less than five, we're in, if others feel the same. We will definitely be bringing treats for our little ones, and we're happy to share.
