November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

Hey yal................yup, finally read the info about two new ship a few years from now.............we will rebook when they are out and by that time it sounds like the Magic will live on the West coast to float the Mexican Riviera......something we should do since it is so close.

Otherwise..........in the mean time...our next DCL cruise in Nov will be our last for a while..........too many other things to explore!:goodvibes

I am looking forward to Nov!!!!!!! The Magic has a special place in my heart!:thumbsup2

Hey...........it has been two months and no one has kept this thread alive! Hope everyone has had a good summer and that all is well!

We are all good and gearing up for France in a few weeks............adults only, 2 weeks (Paris and Southern France........road biking eveyday and bed and breakfasts).
:thumbsup2

I have not forgotten my love for the Magic and all of the GREAT memories! SOOOOO excited for our Nov cruise and floating her again!

Take Care all!

hello all.

no vacations for us this year-save a quick trip a couple of weeks ago to california to wrap up the last of our doctor and dentist appointments before we establish with new doctors up here (although dd has already been accepted as a patient at Shriner's to keep an eye on the arm she had surgery on :thumbsup2 ).

dh took a short solo trip to vancouver bc last month to do some diving. enjoyed it very much.

rotten kids are back in school.

as for me i watch the critters in the backyard (we've enjoyed the recent company of a large moose who i've named 'monroe'), and have taken the leap back into community theatre. in october i'll be performing in a production of 'the laramie project'.

hope all is well with everyone.

Hey all..............

We are back from France on our two week adventure on road bikes all through the vinyards of Southern Provence! Wow! What an experience! My husband is back to his usual butt-kicking endurnace and did great! I could not keep up with him and the other "hammerheads" most days but got a lot of great riding in! Incredible food! Incredible red wine! OMG!

I was really gald to get back to US soil, however.................there is no place like home. I decided that taking a Med. Disney cruise would just NOT be the same without a tropical feel............I loved the history of Paris and the mid-evil looking stonework, Abbeys, and castles we saw.......but I just could not picture the Magic over there with the same feel.

That said, we leave in less than 30 days for our thrid Disney Cruise and I am just as excited this time as the first time! Our kids are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! I tell them this will be our last one, but I don't know.................

I sure wish they would hurry up and build those new ships!:thumbsup2

Yup, we feel broke with all of these vacations..............but happy and healthy and livin' the life.

You just never know when life may turn you upside down so until someone stops me, I have family vacations as one of my top priorities!:cool1:

Hope all is well.............

Helllloooooo out there!
Sounds like the DisNurse Family is having some good times! Haley is begging to go on the "Mickey Boat". We have a trip to Orlando planned for the first week of February staying at the Boardwalk Villas.
I never changed my screen name but Baby Alex is awesome! I'd have 10 more if I knew they'd all be like him! Mama's and their little boys I guess?
Take care!

Hello back!

Glad to hear everyone is having fun!

DisNurse...when do you leave for your cruise? I know someone who is going around the same time. Have a great time:woohoo: Think of us:grouphug:

Hi everyone! So glad to hear from some of you!

To answer your question, 4Campers.......we are leaving Port Canaveral on Nov. 10th on another 7 night Eastern.

We are so excited!

I think we might possibly rebook the 2008 Thanksgiving DCL when we are onboard! ..............don't ask me how I can possibly justify this $$$$$$$$??????? I am already guessing that cruise (being it a DOUBLE DIP!) and over a holiday is over $5,000 for the 4 of us! AGH! I will look at it long and hard...........we did the DOUBLE DIP of CC last Nov and had a blast! It included Costa Maya, MX which I know now is completely flattened by a hurricane.........so sad! I wonder what DCL will do about that? There are no cruise ships on the itinerary for that port until AT LEAST the Fall of 2008! I say, go to Grand Cayman and I will drool!

About this next DCL cruise in a few weeks.................nope, I haven't even remotely had the interest in chiming in on the DIS meet for this cruise! The people just arern't the same! You guys rock!

We had a great crew and I'll never forget it! :)
I had soooooooooooooooooo much fun leading up to the cruise cause of you guys!

Thanks again!:disrocks:

Hi Guys....we are heading to Food and Wine again and will see two of our November Cruise mates. they were not on the Dis, but great folks....

So, it was two years ago (gulp) when we were madly planning for our cruise....can ya believe it....

We are heading out again for another pre-Christmas cruise - but only 3 days on the Wonder. Still three days of Wonder is still Magical.

Take care all.....

hey all-here making a request for the same wonderful prayers and pixie dust you sent dd's way 2 years ago when we were in the planning stages for the cruise.

if you will remember when we went on the cruise dd was recovering from orthopedic surgery on her arm due to a bone cyst, well-she's slated to have it done again at shriner's hospital in spokane on november 1st:guilty: we'de been warned that there was a good possibility that she'd need to re-do it before she hit adulthood, but we were hoping it would'nt be until she got older and was done growing (much better success rate). well-turns out it has to be done now (as well as probably again when she's done growing).

all things considered, if it had to happen it's happening under good circumstances. the people at shriner's are awsome, the medical staff is top notch (we count ourselves as so blessed that dd was accepted into their program)-and dd's got a great mindset about it. in fact before it was even being brought up as a consideration she had mentioned that her arm was giving her so much pain that she hoped the doctor would consider surgery because 'even though it hurts, and it takes a long time to heal-if i can get another 2 years of no pain it's worth it'

so please, keep us in your prayers.

Barkely - I was thinking about this group and the November 2005 cruise as this week was the anniversary of Hurricane Wilma which hit us right before the sailing date....Then I see the post of your DD -- so sorry that she has to endure this but it does seem that she has good care lined up.....

so prayers and pixie dust are being sent her way for a fast recovery....And to you as well as it must be hard to see her in pain....

:grouphug:

DIS NURSE sends good vibes:goodvibes to you and your family! Hope this is the last of the surgeries and that all ends well..............you are SO lucky to have such great Shriner's staff supporting you! The are.............like you said.........AWESOME! The one's in Portland, OR are top notch as well...........and we send all of our ortho pt's to them from here in central Oregon.

:thumbsup2

Wow 2 years later and this thread is still going :cool1:

Just thought I would pop in and say HI!!!!!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!!!!!!!

Hey DisNurse - are you back from your cruise yet? We are heading out again for a short relaxation pre-Christmas cruise.

Barkley - how is DD? Hopefully recovering.

Hey AWOL - Did cha take the Halloween cruise this year?

We took an unplanned trip to Epcot for the closing weekend of Food and Wine...can anyone say it is time to DIET?

Hello to everyone! We just returned from a wonderful 4 days at Disney. The castle is all new and looks so pretty for Christmas. DD turned 7 and where else would we go:goodvibes We did everything and closed the place down at midnight:cool2:
Happy Thanksgiving to all and Merry Christmas too:santa:

Hello Jaypd, nice seeing you aroundpirate:

Hi everyone! Yup.........just got back from now, our 3RD, 7 night DCL adventure! I am sold on that ship and company but probaly now need to realistically wait for the new ships to be built to stir up more excitement! I am am honestly amazed that the shows have not changed in three years! I love them all, don't get me wrong but I have had enough. My kids LOVED THEM even the 3rd time around!

They have tweaked Twice Charmed a little, also the Farewell show in the theater. Pirate night, IMHO, was the best orecastrated the year we all went. They have cut down on the side lines character parts of the show since then.

Palo was fabulous as usaul but I actually found a dessert there I like BETTER than the chocolate souffle! It is a crazy triple chocolate amaretto thing that was out of this world!

The ship is seeing a little wear a tear, as to be expected............and we actually had a few odd things ahppen to our Eastern cruise.

#1 stopped at San Salvador for a medical emergency (that DIS nurse couldn't fix:laughing: ) and let off a middle aged man in a DCL tug to the shors who had sustained a bad fall and had central nuero symptoms of extremities. So sad! He was then flown to Ft. Lauderdale. His wife actually stayed on board (kids too) and she met a person in our party and update dus that he was much better and thankfuly wasn't going to end up paralyzed, like he initally presented.

P.S. That island was beautiful and I still need to look it up on a map where we were cause I swear you could sell that as a stop! There were hobie cats, wind surfers, jet skiis, what looked like fab sorkeling, etc!

#2 We ended up tendering into St. Thomas! There were so many ship s that day, DCL got bumped and we had to tender! It was interesting to say the least and we ended up doinfg our St. JOhn excursion just fine but it made the AM that more EARLY! We had to report to the WD theater at 6:15 AM! Agh!

We had a great trip and splurged on the way back at the Yacht Club plus Cirque dul Soliel (sp?). Prior to that we were at the Swan for three days and did Blizzard Beach on a 75 degree day that Floridains thought was freezing so we had the place almost to ourselves! That rocked!:woohoo:

Happy thanksgiving to everyone! We all have a lot to be thankful for!

Take Care, DIS NURSE;)

hello all.

dd is doing very well. fortunatly rather than the more invasive surgery she had a couple of years ago, shriners was able to do a more minimalistic procedure. as a result she has done her initial recovery much quicker (but still no p.e. or handbell choir for at least 3 months). my car however is a different story-dd got sick on the way home from the hospital and as a result it was new carpeting as well as a new rear seat cushion (the dealership tried using some type of 'vomit' bomb 3 times over to no avail).

no big vacations on our agenda, but one mini next weekend. we are headed to lake coeur d'alene next week for a 2 nite stay at their resort. they have over a million christmas lights between the resort displays and the mansions surrounding the lake-all which can be seen from a 40 minute (enclosed) boat tour. they also have an incredible outdoor christmas tree and ice skating rink. we are going to go over (about an hour from home) and do the activites (along with a bit of holiday shopping).

hope all are well.

Hey AWOL - Did cha take the Halloween cruise this year?

Not this year. We just did a one nighter out of LA on the Norwegian Pearl. That was WAY to short. But, it was a good scouting trip for our Alaska cruise on the same ship next summer. No other vacation plans in our near future other than runs to DL. We'll probably make one more before our APs expire in Jan. We'll get APs again when the Magic hits the left coast.

Padding the post count again? ;)

Hope everyone is doing well!
