Today I (we) had a meeting with the head of Human Resources and the hospital administrative hooga-ma-roll on the very subject of, "Who is in charge of the NICU on a daily basis?" the answer was the most senior nurse and believe it or not...that includes me! All 36 years of me!

I will (starting in Nov.) get a substantial pay increase for "running the place" and stop taking a full assignment of babies...maybe be assigned to one sick baby so I can "run the ship", so to speak. I will also oversee the Pediatric floor. All of these changes come at a coincidental time, when I am looking for more $$$ to support my
Disney cruise habit and when I wonder to myself...."don't I work hard enough to justify really nice vacations that the kids will really remember?" The answer is obvious and all I have to say is that our kids are lucky. I try to drill that through their little HARD heads on a weekly basis.
