Ralph: Have you re-booked yet? Some of us will also be on the 11/10/07 seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise. Come join us.

Woody
Wow,
Being away from the computer for three days and 10 pages later.

11/10/07 may be our only option at the moment. I was hoping to get a western in there because we haven't been on one yet. But the way the dates are, this would be our only choice. I did like the eastern cruise we took in 11/04.
If we do go in 11/10/07, we need to get more of you from this cruise to join us.

Jennifer... I just reserved us for 11:45, but I haven't...um...actually spoken to a family member about this. May have to cancel, but at least for a couple hours, I have a plan! (Thank you!!)

Melanie...your guests don't speak English at all, or choose not to speak English? Hang in there!

Peggy...will tell DD when she wakes up...btw, *I* didn't get splashed at all...hmmm...Kids had fun remembering what they saw/went on with you and Jackie this summer! (We tried to tell them that the Tiki Room was their big brother's favorite thing at DL, but I don't think they were buying that.)

Carolyn, just 3 more nights!!!

Since it's been a week, can the following folks let me know if they got their wrist bands yet?

Wendy, I'm going to call my post office and ask about that Priority Mail package and see if they can give me any help from this end.

Yep I got mine sorry thought I posted...And they look great thanks for doing this :sunny:

I've been reading some of the posts here and I can't believe how much I don't know about this cruise (in addition to apparently not having nearly enough shoes LOL!) Should we have gotten some kind of information package with theme nights, events etc. from Disney? We didn't get anything. If I didn't find all of you brilliantly knowlegable cruisers I wouldn't have known about pirate night or formal night.

Is there a schedule of days and events that I can access? We have a reservation for Palo one night but I want to make sure we won't be missing anything.

Also, what do you do with your beloved munchkins while you're at Palo? Is there kids club or can we arrange babysitters?

I was planning to pack the night before we left. I may need to rethink my strategy. I'm definitely going to send the gift baskets to the kids but are there anything else that you think I should definitely bring? I think it's time to designate one room in my house as Disney command central.

Oh yeah! It's my kiddos first time flying as well. Should be an adventure!

I'm soooo far behind. Off to shop for pirate costumes now.

See you in 20 days. :yay:

Tracy, go here: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1002071 and start reading! There is a link listed there for the DCL Navigators, one of which is for the Double-dip from May. But in a nutshel, here's our schedule:

Saturday 11/11 embarkation day. You can eat your lunch at Topsiders (buffet on deck 9) or Parrot Cay (restuarant...still buffet... deck 3). We can probably start boarding the ship just before noon. Your stateroom won't be ready till 1:30, so you'll be schleping your carryons until then. DIS Meet 3PM Promonade Lounge 3PM, Lifeboat drill 4PM, then there's diner and a show (or a show and dinner depending on your dining time) Dinner is casual, menu is restaurant specific.

Sun 11/12 Castaway Cay, lunch on the island at Cookies or on the ship. Dinner is Casuel, menu is restaurant specific. Variety show in the big theater.

Mon - Sea Day, frolic on the ship! Dinner is Formal, menu is Restaurant Specific. Show is Golden Mickeys.

Tue - Costa Maya, Dinner is casual, menu is called "Master Chef" (I think it's stuff from Disney parks around the world). Show is Twice Charmed

Wed - Cozumel. Dining is casual and it's Pirate Night menu and party and there's a buffet after (like 1030-11p)

Thu - Sea Day, frolic on the ship! Dinner is Semi-Formal it's LOBSTER night. There is a Captain's Gala (reception) before the dining rotations begin. We will also be having a group lunch at 12:30 at Parrot Cay (let me know if you are interested in joining in). Show is "Disney Dreams" (don't miss this one!). AND there is a dessert buffet at 11PM

Friday - Second stop at Castaway Cay, more Cookies bar-b-que. Dinner is casual, show is "Remember the Magic"

The kids can go into the clubs while you are at Palo. Don't remember the age of your youngest, but non-potty trained kids will have to go into Flounders nursery FOR WHICH YOU NEED A RESERVATION/APPOINTMENT and pay a fee. I believe you can do that on line.....perhaps an experienced parent can answer your questions on this one. (I'm thinking it's $6 per hour).

Edited: Yes, Flounders is $6/hour and you can book on line.

OK.....that's a rather long winded 'nutshell', isn't it?

I spent so much time packing my house and moving in the with the in-laws..into one room, that I have not begun to tackle packing for the cruise so now of course I am having panic attacks...and none of my clothes fit....

so, i have done some on-line shopping at www.titlenine.com and llbean.com and so now I have some clothes, but no tops and still need formal and semi-formal wear and I am running out of shopping time....aarrrgghhhh...

stop the insanity...can't i just wear jammies 24/7...wait, those don't fit either...I know wieght loss is a good thing, but this is all so overwhelming...

DragonflyDreaming You will also be given a "Navigator" in your cabin daily. It will list all the activities going on for that day. There are family, kids and adults activities to choose from. If you are interested in "Tea with Wendy" it is free and you need to sign up at the guest relations (to the right after the lobby when you board) as soon as you get on board. There is also Martini, Margarets/tequila, beer and wine tasting event and the prices vary. You will need to sign up for them as soon as you get on board as well.

Please feel free to ask any and all questions as we have been asking each other along the way as well.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. It answered a lot of questions that I didn't even know to ask! :thumbsup2 :)

Becky, stop and breathe. OK, now, remember there's laundry facilities on the ship....re-wear stuff (honest, no one is paying attention to the fact that on Friday you wore the same thing as last Tuesday). Just shop for that 'little black dress' for semi-formal night and add a bit of sparkle (jacket, shall, jeweled belt, jewelry...lime green feather boa.....) to if for formal night. (Though sometimes it's harder to shop for the perfect accessory than it is just get a different dress!!)

I'm sending you a PM too.

You guys are the best! That link to the Personal Navigator for our cruise is amazing! It's great to see what's happening on board while we're at each port as we may stay on the boat some days. Also, what is the "castaway club". I noticed the first meeting to re-book another cruise is reserved for this group. I'm wondering if it is people that have cruised with Disney before?

Here's my next of I'm sure many questions to come. How many DH's out there will be dressed in Tuxedos on formal night? Do most wear suits? My DH has no idea that there is a formal night yet and hates dressing up. I was going to rent him a tux from the ship if that's what most wear but if he can get away with a suit and tie I'll do that.
Also, do you dress the kids formal as well? Does a cinderella dress count as formal or is it too costumey?

Thanks all.

I should change my name to "pane-in-de-but"

::yes:: Castaway Club is for repeat cruisers. They have their own check in line at the terminal and get a 'thank you' gift from DCL and a reception at some point on the cruise. You automatically become a member after your first cruise, you don't have to 'do' anything to join up.

I haven't done a formal night yet, but from reading here you will see men in tuxes as well as suits...tux isn't mandatory. There will be LOTS of little girls in their princess costumes on formal and semi-formal night, so bring your 'Cinderella'.

Regarding pirate night: the number of people who do some kind of costume varies greatly cruise to cruise....don't stress over this one. DCL will give you a pirate bandana and your servers will show you how to tie it on your head. Some folks just bring eye patches, jewels (pirate booty) and others go all out in full pirate garb. Also, some folks just dress up the kids.

Hi Grayfal,

If you could add us to your list we will also be cruising with the best as well. :wave2:
ktkberg #8088. I'm traveling with DH, DS, DD.

Thanks we look foward to meeting with everyone.

I'm with your husband on dressing up. :sad2: I won't say any more, as Shelly is getting sick of hearing me whine about it. :duck: ;) I'll be wearing a suit for formal night. :)

Hi dragonflydreaming,

Welcome to the group. Your in great hands for preparing for your cruise here. I have found out so much useful information here and then some :rotfl:

As for the formal and semi-formal. I tend to dress up myself and the kids more so than my husband. He wears suits all the time and I think he feels that a vacation should strickly be shorts, t-shirts and beer :drinking1 You will see some men wear tuxs, some suits and work causal. We go a little less formal with him. He usually wears dress slacks and a nice button down shirt. If I can convince him a tie but that is a moment by moment thing :goodvibes

As for the pirate night we are planning on wearing our bandanas from dinner and the kids have eye patches and Mickey D's pirate swords.

Welcome and we will talk with you soon.
Tammy
