Glad to see I am not alone in the diet failure category. But like others, I am going to make a concerted effort to lose 10 lbs before cruise date. For me it is a little less hard to do it with the big date looming in less than 30 days. Doesn't seem so long to have to wait for dessert. Of course, the only reason I want to lose 10 lbs is to put it back on during the cruise. So, I guess, I'll have to bring 2 different sizes of pants. The smaller size to were on boarding day and the bigger size for (sniff, boo-hoo, its hard to say) when the force me to get off.

HELLO FELLOW DOUBLE DIPPERS!

For all of you with regards to hiking pants... let me splain... (ricky ricardo style). In the desert when you hike early you are nippy that sun goes down and it's cold. As the sun rises, it gets warm warm and then hot. So those hiking pants can be unzipped into shorts. If you are hiking through streams, they dry much easier than jeans and don't weigh you down. They also don't hold sweat against your body as the temp climbs, and they "give" more than jeans. Jeans to me, are hot, heavy and not always comfy. Hiking pants - ahhhhhhh. Now light cotton capri's would probably be a good bet, so I may just wear them as I have yet to return the hiking pants that don't fit - but DARN they were on sale!

Now, baskets. Yes, I called Shirley (although I spoke to another gal) and she got my order - she's actually out shopping for some "surprise" items for Jackie's basket. The other basket is for Jackie and I to share during the cruise. Wine, treats, etc. I will have to follow up in the next week I think to make sure all is well and she gets my credit card number.

I don't have a list made of things I need to do, so I am flying by the seat of my pants (a new exercise for the compulsion!) Yeah, I might need paddles and electrodes attached soon - say a prayer for me. CLEAR!

Well, I'm in pretty good shape (not physically!) cruise wise. Got DIStag bags ready and waiting to ship ahead, magnets of all kinds, photomats decorated and sharpies bought, goodie bags for CMs made, all pirate costumes ready, Bedazzled several Mickey tees, DCL b'day decorations ordered, rewards cards ordered, bought underwater cameras, black and white cameras, extra digital batteries, memory card, made backpacks for kids long trip down with goodies inside, got plane, hotel, and transfers, Palo for brunch, supper and high tea, excursions booked, shipping box packed and ready to go with sand toys and birthday presents. Whew!
So, now I'm ready for the four German inlaws who arrive anyday and stay up until time to leave. So the only thing I will be lacking will be my mind!

Wow, Melanie! Now I feel a little bit queasy, cause I am not so ready. Peg, I think I will join you with the electrodes and paddles.

All I can say is WOW. Melanie you took OCPD to a new level. :worship: You are tops. Here is the transportation company number I said I would post.

I forgot to mention that I watched the "Wonder" set sail from our port this morning. I was so sad. Yesterday I watched the Dumbotron as I sat in traffic.

It is really making me wish I was on the ship.

Does Shirly have a website for her store? I'm thinking of suprsing my wife with a basket from her, but would like to look at some of the stuff online beofre I call.

Thanks,

Jack

The web site is:
http://www.theperfectgift.cc

BUT...you need to call. Shirely does speciality baskets (customized) and there isn't a lot to see on the web site. Check out the site then give her (or her great staff) a call.

I've contacted Shirley as well, and decided to follow up in a week or so with the specifics about what we'd like in our basket. Wow, some of you are REALLY prepared for this cruise. I've got door signs done, packing list made (only since I did it for our previous cruise, and I'm using the same list), pirate costumes purchased... and that's about it! The CM gifts and tag bags will have to wait until after Halloween. Right now, I'm working like a mad woman to make sure we have enough "fun money" for the cruise!

As for CM attire... the hiking pants I purchased were crop pant length, with tennis shoes and cotton shirt, hat and bug spray. DSs and DH will wear light weight cotton cargo pants to keep them from being eaten by bugs! Bugs generally leave me alone (I think because the rest of my family tastes so good to them). I thought I read somewhere that D&I provide bug spray, but now I'm not sure where I read it. Anyone else remember that?

I bought "jungle juice" from REI sporting goods, they recommend it as being highly concentrated and works well in the jungle (of course).

I have my underwater cameras, my crocs, my water tight bag for dolphin swim, my "little size" EVERYTHINGS, including peptol bismal, first aid creams, band-aids, vaseline (so cute the little container) and loads of wonderful toiletry items, not to mention my crystal light water flavors, and summer sausages (i just love that website) reading material (yes one needs special reading material for a cruise) my MP3 player loaded with the correct music.

I've got special "sunglasses" for swimming with dolphins (go around your ear for not falling off).

Door signs are underway; WHAT IS THIS I HEAR ABOUT GIFTS FOR CM's? Do I need to bring some bribary gifts? I know it works in the real business world, I just never thought it would be a good idea. Some Arizona items perhaps?

Hmmm now you got me thinking. :teeth:

My gift baskets are ordered, I have no pirate outfit, so that was easy (I don't like dressing up) but I'll wear the headband they give out - yes I am still wearing my boa - but I don't call that "dressing up".

I have my special beach hat (folds up into a ball); cover up to match my croces and match my sister (hope we don't look ridiculous!) :guilty:

I have a special lime green magnet board (dry erase) for our door for our dis friends to leave notes.

Gifts for (ooohhh that's a surprise) sorry

I'm thinking of getting a video camera for the trip - but with all the research I've done, I'm more confused than ever! I even convinced my company to buy one for our business needs and I lost the wind in my sail now - must get back to that item!

Ok, I have cash put away for our "fun" whew I'm tired! :Pinkbounc

David, I have been planning this for 2 years and I have nothing done. Do share your secret. LOL

As for the diet. I am on a new age diet. It is the latest and greatest fad and I assure you it works. It is so versatile that it works every where and I look forward to it on the cruise. It is definately a no guilt diet. It is a seefood diet. You seefood and eat it and it helps you wiegh differently at each new age. Seeing how I just had a birthday, I am proud to say I weighed differently than last year. Wow this is really working. No guilt here. :rotfl2:

Wow that's the same diet I'm on and it really works well. Your are right :rotfl2:

Morning double dippers! I signed on the DIS to send out some PM's, but had to stop by with help for the post count challenge...how could I not?

I also have not had much success with the old diet plan, but haven't thrown in the towel. 5-10 more off will help make room for that Mango Soup, Chocolate Souffle and other shipboard goodies. I MUST get in more 'body movement' (can't use the exer.... word) if I want to survive my adventure with David & Ivan.

You are so funny!!! :rotfl2:

TiggersPal - did you call shirley already? she told me to wait until two to three weeks before - but im getting so nervous im going to forget!

anybody pick up bonine? i need to get that too . . .

I have to have that for the flight. I love flying, but get deathly ill on take off and it lasts all the way til hours after I get off. After years of getting sick I decided to try dramamine and it worked. Should have done that years ago. My mother gets sick on boats. So she suggested the bonine and it does great also. So that is what I use now.
