We bring small candy gifts along with a thank you card to give to the CM that is always at the beverage station (everytime I was there, we saw her wiping things down, and stocking cups/lids). We also hand them to the CM that delivers room service (along with a cash tip) each of the many times the kids order room service. Room service is such a treat for them as we never allow it on other vacations.

I see some of you have been asking about DIS Tag. txaggie94gigem is in charge and hopefully she will post soon. Last I heard the count was up to 16-17.

FOUR WEEKS FROM RIGHT NOW I'WILL BE AT THE AIRPORT!!!!!

For GrayFal's 'game'.....on the 13th of November I will be waking up and looking at the ocean from my verandah, contemplating my Palo brunch and deciding what I should have to 'hold me over' till then. Perhaps just a pastry and hot tea, or maybe a quick run up to Topsiders for a bite of protein. I may have booked a manicure for that morning, so I can't be late for that! Tonight is formal night and my official birthday celebration. We'll be dining in Luminere's (if we get our requested rotation) and will probably stop by for the baloon drop at the Golden Mickey's 'after party'. I bet I'll have had a drink of the day too!

What a nice idea Wendy. An extra bonus here. Holloween is but 10 days before we leave on the cruise. With 4 kids we always have a bunch of candy which come March or April I usually wind up throwing out. Not to mention all the Halloween candy we find hid under the beds, behind the couch, in sock drawers, etc. Plus we always seem to buy way to much to hand out. So, this year all the candy (except of course any snickers or mars bars which are my personal favorite) is heading south in nice little thank you bags and door surprises bags.

MARS Bars - I LOVE THEM - can no longer get them out west! They have those almonds lined up so neat just laying under a layer of chocolate... hmmm I might have to dip into my M & M's this morning! Thanks for the memories...David!

Ok, had my first "cruise" dream... although I'm not sure it actually was. It was a tidal wave dream. And my house got hit, but I out swam it (I am amazingly talented in my dreams!). I ended up looking back over the land after it went back out into the ocean and I woke up sad - because my dogs, and cat were missing... The strangest thing, I LIVE IN THE DESERT! So that's why I think I was thinking about being on the ocean... I realize stress comes to me in form of dreams, so I told my boss this morning (no stress for the next month) I can't take it! :scared:

I now know what Katrina must have felt like for people...

What's a real shame - the night before I had a dream about Robert Redford....

:wizard: pixiedust: for no more bad dreams.

We give phone cards along with our tip money to the room steward, and our wait staff. Seeing how I have no little children, I can not speak to the CMs at the clubs. If I were to tip those taking care of my son I would have to tip every bartender or refreshment nurse on the ship. LOL :rotfl2:

Four weeks from now I will be packing to get the luggage outside, and getting ready for dinner. It is my Dsis's real Birthday and I will be celebratiing that. I will also be solom as I know that what I have looked forward to for a 2 years has gone by so quickly. My Dh on the other hand will be dreading the flight home as he will have to listen to me for the next 2 days process the whole trip :rotfl2: Jackie and Peggy can attest to that. They had to live LOVE over and over for 19 hours. The only saving grace for them, they got to fly home 19 hours later. :rotfl2:

Happy Friday the 13th!

Ooo la la, that Johnny Depp guy is handsome in a bad boy kind of way.

I am on my way to the party store to get DH some pirate accessories. He has a full costume, but he looks more like he belongs in Colonial Williamsburg rather than on a pirate ship. Need to muddy him up a little. :teeth:

On the 13th of November, I will be watching the sea go by, my favorite thing to do on board, other than eating, of course. Sit, eat, sit, eat, walk to where I will sit to eat....that's my cruising style in a nutshell. :goodvibes

Hi fellow cruisers,

Just thought I'd check in and help add to the number of posts. We're getting pretty excited around here, too. Informed the teachers at both schools today. So far, everyone wishes us well. :goodvibes

We still have door signs to make and I have 1 large suitcase filled with a variety of cruise items. Still have lots more to add. Distag bags are made. I sure hope 20 will be enough!! I also have tons of lists all over the place. I will have to combine them all this weekend.

I also use Bonine and found a double-pak on sale at wal-mart. And, like many of you, my diet attempts have been poor. I will keep trying, though, and hope to lose at least 10 so that when I gain, I won't feel so bad! :rotfl2:

WendyJersey - I agree with you, it sure was chilly this morning. We are in the Toms River area. My daughter exclaimed, "Look mom, I can see my breath!"

Hope everyone has a great weekend,
Karen

WOW!! My DSL went on the fritz for two days and I had to read 5 pages Nice Job on the posting!!!!
SNOW in NY today it is chilly here but at least we are not shoveling!
I had a crazy thought what happens to the dis tag game when we all get our upgrades at the port! We will be missing each other and making some other cruisers really happy :rotfl2:
I am excited to see mickey in his bathing suit at CC, he just looks so happy :Pinkbounc
Keep Posting ! :yay:

Anybody who gets/buys upgrades at the port MUST ::yes:: come to the DIS meet at 3PM to let everyone know. OR, you could go to the cabin you did have and 'splain (Rickey Ricardo style) that those presents are YOURS and to send them on to your new cabin! :rotfl2:

Jackie, The check is in the mail :thumbsup2 .

It's getting so real now; I can't wait.

So has anyone without a GTY gotten a room upgrade yet? We're still down on deck 1, with the surrounding cat. 9's available. Instead of our own deck, DCL could just give us a suite :rotfl: .

Lauri

I obviously got the whole "what will you be doing in 4 weeks" I took it to be Firday not the 13th. So here goes for 11/13. I would be getting ready for Palo, hopefully, and admiring my dashing DH.

Don't feel bad Lauri, there's one family in our traveling group that is also down on deck 1. They got upgraded to a Cat 10 from a Cat 12 GTY, so... not likely they'll get any higher. We've got connecting Cat 9 cabins, so not likely we'll be upgraded :sad2: A veranda would have been nice... but I'm just happy we'll be in the ship!

Grayfal...Please delete some of your PM's as I can not send you any more, your box is full. Thanks.

My computer crashed and have really been out of the loop. I have been reading and trying to catch up on all the news. Does anyone know what time is best to be at the port if you have traveling with Disney cruisline before. I think we can go on a little earlier than others. Right?

Hope all is well with everyone. Will talk again later

Hi everybody! I have not checked in in a LONG time (got a few things going on here..like moving to CHINA with Dh's company in December  ...I've been a little distracted..)

Anyway, it is actually time to plan this thing, isn't it?? Although we obsessives have been planning for years.

What has everyone heard about the Dolphin Discovery lately? I can only find mixed reviews of it and not even many of those. There aren't a ton of choices for a 5 and 7 yr old. I think it could be a fabulous experience or a real rip off. Whattaya think?

I've heard Chakanaab is not worth hanging around these days. I guess we'd do the D.D. and leave?

We were interested in taking the kids to the mayan ruins, etc, but considering a few weeks later, we will begin living in ancient China, that trek has lost some appeal....

Any opinions.

ALso, a few weeks ago, someone emailed me to get info for a new list. (sorry, but my brain is really overloaded these days..) I'd love to see the list if someone can direct me.

Thanks, Jennifer

P.S. Last night, Dh (who is not a Disney lover and thus has not been particularly excited about our trip) told me to call and upgrade the cabin! :cheer2: Silly me, I am being rational and hesitating :confused3 I think tomorrow I get with it and book the cat 8 GTY.

One more thing: Anyone have a good suggestion for things to ask Shirley to put in a basket for Dh? I'll definitely ask for some good, German beer, but can't think of what else. He has earned a massive promotion and I wanted to surprise him with a congrats basket. Thanks.

Jjsmama..It was me that Pm'd you, but you did reply. If you change cabin#'s please let me know so that I can update the list.

I also asked DH about the basket. He said cookies, fruit, cheese, chocolate and maybe a bottle of his favorite liquor (top shelf of course).

We are just over the moon with excitement. I just found out that we got an upgrade. Talk about exciting. I don't think I'll tell the kids and just surpise them. Sorry to be rambling I was just so excited and had to share the news.
