We've decided to be laid back on this cruise. There are only two excursions that really interest us and they are both on Castaway Cay. In Costa Maya we are going to the Chac-Chi resort to lounge, snorkel, eat and drink. In Cozumel we are taking the same approach but going to Paradise Beach. Funny, we are looking forward to doing very little but of course we are always run, run, run here at home. Our oldest was in marching band all four years of high school, which let me tell you they keep kids and parents busy! Our youngest will also be in marching band but not until the 2007-08 school year. Our high school band competes on the local and national level, so we do a lot of traveling. So, this is a chance to take a much needed break. Ok, I've rambled but the bottom line is bring on the umbrella drinks!!

Shelly i agree we have two things we are doing on CC and were just going to wing it in cozumel and costa Maya. We want to explore on our own since its the first time we have ever been out of the country. And i was really worried about booking an excusion in mexico, the thought that i would actually get in a van in another country with people i didnt know. It kinda freaked me out, since were knew to cruising. :scared1:  :scared: :worried: Maybe next time :thumbsup2 We have decided to do parasailing and the wave runner excursion on CC. I hope we have fun, my DH is afraid of heights :guilty: I hope to meet some of you on board :cool1:

This may be very helpful if we are going to be doing any exchanges or making anything to hand out to each other.

Here's how to ship items to the IDS warehouse who will deliver it to the ship for your DCL cruise:
......
You can send your packages as early as you want and by any carrier you prefer. All you have to do is pay the shipping costs to get it to the warehouse and they do the rest...free.

Address the packages to:
IDS
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920
phone - 321-799-9100

pkg must arrive by 5:00 PM on Fri. for Sat and Sun sailings
Pkg must arrive by 11:00 AM on Thursday for Thursday sailings

You must have your name/stateroom#/ship name on the outside of the pkg.

At the bottom left corner of the package put the following information:

STATEROOM #: (GTY if you don't know your # when you mail package)
PASSENGER NAME: (Name of passenger on reservation)
VESSEL: MAGIC or WONDER
DATE of SAIL:
NUMBER of BOX: (1 of 3, 2 of 3, and so forth)
The boxes will magically appear in your stateroom before you arrive, or soon after.
Kelly at the IDS warehouse was very helpful.

One thing I found was that alcoholic beverages cannot be shipped legally to Florida from all states....

Just thought I would drop by and say, HI! Hope ya'll are having a good weekend. I just finished reading Verandahman's trip report and got a little sad looking at the last picture of the Magic. I am so ready for this cruise, well almost. Have to buy new swimsuits this year, yuck.

Jacquie and Wendy, what time is your David and Ivan tour? If he has enough slots, I may sign our group up for it.

Adios for now. :wave2:

The tour departs 'one hour after ship docks', so it's a first thing in the morning adventure. I'm thinking I'll grab lucnh at The Cat's Meow (owend by a Canadian lady) and maybe a dip in the ocean to cool off right there in Mauhlawhatever...then back to the ship for a nap. I'm GUESSING that evening will be the Castaway Club reception. We'll know in another week when the first double dip heads out! I'm nearly as excited about that as the folks who are going on it! :cool1:

HEY....Peg and I have decided to do a town car over to the port from AKL and I'm trying to figure out timing. We don't need to be the first there, but I'd like to be all checked in by the time boarding starts. About what time is it when all the people lined up waiting for the doors to open get through security and check in? I'd like to arrive just after that mad rush.....11, 11:30A? ANYBODY HAVE AN OPION ON THAT TIME?

Hey Pat...

Would you add a comment on page one that says post #1923 has info on shipping packages to the ship. I know a few months from now some of us will be looking for that! ;)

When the time comes, we'll probably want to reflect which post will have the final/offical wrist band ordering information and the one for the DIS lunch party too.

Thanks!

Can I just say how much you guys rock? Shipping stuff ahead of time! Now that's planning. I love that idea! Especially when we get to ordering the wrist bands for everyone! I am checking out a vendor through work to see if he'll do it cheaper than ibouncetoo's guy. Hey, we might has well use our connections right?:sunny:

With all our pre-planning excursions (Mayan Ruin, Dolphin Excursion) I'm wondering how and when I can get a spa day in? Or 1/2 a spa day. I love to do a work-out then have a massage, a little spa lunch inbetween and then maybe hit the pool... ahhhhh laddy, can ye' fetch me a cocktail?

I'm thinking a visit to the SPA Monday morning (1st sea day) for a manicure and maybe a little visit to the Rainforest room. Monday is the day we will try for Palo brunch too. ::yes:: So I'd have pretty fingers for brunch, Captain's Gala and formal dinner. This sounds like a plan ;)

Okay guys, here's one for you.....

I need some easy hairdos for the girls that I can do for the wedding considering I have to somehow get them ready and have time for myself to hit the spa for a makeover......ideas????

I'm not great at this, but I think I remember an easy "bun" for kids. My girlfriend Carla had her daughter's hair put in a pony tail then to make the perfect bun the wrapped her hair around a styrofoam "donut"...then they could pin the crap out of the hair without it hitting the poor kids skull. It stayed the entire night and look adorable, they then wrapped ribbon around the base and she said it was easy... maybe a "test" run? Just a though... it was a classy look and easy (so I am told).

What's rainforest room? If we eat like pigs Saturday and sunday i'll be dying for some movement (spa) so I could get a work-out and a massage and you could get a mani-pedi? Sounds like a plan!:thumbsup2

The rainforest room is where they have the heated tile 'loungers' and scented showers. Which reminds me, I've been meaning to ask a QOTD (question of the day) have you visited the rainforest room and how was it? was it worth the $15 for a one day pass? Did you have to bludgeon people to get them off the lounges so you could have a go? I've read on some trip reports that people liked it just to have access to a roomy shower ::yes::

Don't worry, we'll have SOME activity on Sunday on Castaway Cay....frolicking in the ocean, perhaps a bike ride on the trails, the banana boat ride seems right up your alley, Miss Thrillseeker. I'll burn a few 'fear' calories parasailing. It's all good.

Kim, have you thought about using the topsytail?
http://www.ekitchengadgets.com/topsytail.html
I used one on our last cruise for Sarah on formal night. Just make a pony tail and flip it through the loop, makes it look very nice and stays for as long as you have the pony tail in, plus you can do different styles with it. I would offer you mine, but have misplaced it  . I've been doing a lot of decluttering and it may have gone to the thrift store.

Also, check out the hairdini, just google it.

QUOT The Rainforest is worth the $15, but don't buy the weeks worth, because you just don't have time to use it every day and I think if you have a treatment (massage, facial, etc) you can use the Rainforest for free that day. Don't quote me on that, because they may have changed their policies.
When we have used it, we were the only ones in there. There is an occasional sightseer, just checking out the place. They don't bother me as long as they whisper, all that loud talking disturbs my nap, :teeth: and those loungers are definately good for napping. Be sure to put a towel on them; they get a little warm and without the towel, if you fall asleep for very long, you might wake up with a really cool tile pattern all over your backside, LOL.

Linda, I used to do that to my hair back in the day...maybe I can do a variation of it on Heather so that I can get the front/top off face and still let her have some curl on the bottom. Time to teach her how to curl her own hair......

Hey...I know I could plug in my camera printer port and hair dryer....will the outlets hold for hot rollers/hot sticks? If so then I can just teach Heather how to use them for her curls....

KRIS, KRIS, KRIS....not Kim...what is my problem? Sorry, I think your Dis name throws my old brain off--very easy these days. :confused3
