Hey Jackie!

Okay...I'm having a brain overload....tooooo many wristband choices...
I do, however, agree with Pat that we are the Double Dippers and no matter what may happen to our itinerary that's who we are...we can't help where we end up... The blue lettering does really stand out and I like the thought of being able to use the word "Disney" if we want but I'll be happy with whatever you guys choose.

I watched the DCL special again. The girls hadn't seen it and I wanted a Disney fix. I even saved it on the DVR so I could rewatch it later if I felt the need for a fix creeping up again. Yes...so many changes...and although it was mainly the Wonder and I figure it has changed quite a bit too it was nice to see a little bit of that ship just to get a general feel for what she looks like inside.

The girls enjoyed it though...they're REALLY starting to get excited... :cheer2:

Hope everyone has a good day!

i just wanted to send you a quick hello since you seem to be keeping our thread going!!! thanks!!

Hi  back at 'cha, Janice!

Well, I had an interesting day yesterday. Corporate folks were in town and we had another company lunch.....outside, catered by Famous Dave's BBQ. It was just as yummmy as the first time we used them. ::yes:: ALSO, I got a BONUS! A real, in your paycheck bonus (as opposed to a gift card given by your boss or department head). The four assistants in our department got them for all our work on the Olympics. I'm not aware of this ever happening in the 20 plus years I've been with the company. It was a GREAT surprise. And it doesn't hurt to have a few hundered extra $$ in your pocket just before vacation! party: Plus I just remembered I haven't spent my $100 Westcor Mall gift certificate that I got for Christmas yet. Guess I can do some SHOPPING when big sister is in town. AND I have a gift certificate from TiggersPal from Christmas for a pedicure to use also. Looks like I'll be having some FUN in a couple of weeks ::yes::

HAPPY ST PAT'S DAY EVERYONE!

I like the "Double Dipping DISers"....and then Magic 11-11-06......I agree it says it all. Well need 7 when the time comes. I,ll be happy with whatever the group decides. Thanks for doing this. I also will be enjoying my birthday on the cruise so will be interested in the gathering. Getting tired of winter and looking forward to some warm weather it will get me conditioned for the cruise in warm water. Catch you all later.

Hey! Is there room for us? We were on the Cruisetoberfest cruise, but a few weeks ago had to change to this one due to Dh's work conflicts. I'm just so excited to be going on this Double Dip cruise! And it is our first 7 night.

Waving Hello! :wave2:

It will be me, Jennifer (33) stay at home mom turned teacher, Dh, a corporate accountant (but not as boring as that sounds ;) ), DS #1 age 8 on the cruise and DS #2 celebrating his 6th birthday onboard.

Looking forward to chatting with you.

Welcome Jennifer! I too am a stay at home turned teacher (well at least turned part time teacher). This a a real friendly group and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves :thumbsup2

BTW... we had an exciting night last night! 911 call at almost 2am. Youngest DS (almost 6) had his first bout with croup. None of our children have ever had it, and no one has been sick so we didn't recognize what it was. He woke us up and was very upset because he was unable to breath (he could not inhale full breaths and it was making him gag- started vomitting too from the air he was swallowing :sad2: ). We thought he had an obstructed airway somehow and called paramedics. I was very calm, but the whole thing had me so confused that I could hardly remember my address when I was on the phone with the 911 operator. My older 2 DSs both woke up to the sound of the dog barking after paramedics arrived. Both were scared to see that their brother was missing from his bed and walked out of their room to see a gurney in the hallway and firemen in our bedroom. Paramedics recommended we take him to the ER (of course local ER was closed to ambulances, but we could take him in ourselves). Dh took him to the ER (while I calmed his brothers), they sat for 3 hours, then DS was given a steriod treatment and sent home. He's been fine all day, so hopefully no relapse tonight!

Welcome Jennifer! There's always room around here for one more....or in your case....four!

Things have been pretty quiet around here. It seems to go in spurts on how active the thread is. I've learned alot from this group and still have a long way to go. If you have any questions just let us all know....someone is bound to have the answer for you.

Hope everyone is doing good. Talk to you all soon!

Wendy,
That's terrible! What a scary night! My oldest Ds (7) has had asthma since he was 2 - brought on by all the seasonal allergens in our area. We have had many nights like that, except no 911 or ER because I knew what it was and we have our own nebulizer for him.

My sister's son had a night like you and took her Ds to ER too b/c she didn't know what to do. I said, I wish I had been there. We could have put him on Ds's nebulizer instead.

WHY was the local ER closed to ambulances? I've never heard of that.

If the ER is very busy they can close to Ambulance traffic, but always have to stay open to walk-in traffic. If DS was still in severe distress they could have transported him to another local hospital. We have an HMO, so we are supposed to use their facilities only unless it is a life or death situation. In our case, the breathing treatment the paramedics administered eased the situation so that we could transport him ourselves without fear. We did have to sign a form stating that we agreed to take him to the hospital that night on our own. Our closest hospital facility is about 5 miles from our house (and there are several other hospitals across the street from it). When my husband got to the ER there were tons of people in the waiting room, and some parents there said that they had already been waiting over 4 hours to be seen. :hourglass

You're right, it can be a scary thing when your child wakes up unable to breathe. Our oldest son was a "gravel breather" as a baby and we occasionally had to give him albuterol. He outgrew it though and never had any episodes like the one we experienced the other night. :woohoo:

Boy... isn't parenting great fun :Pinkbounc Just one new challenge after another...

Hope things a lots better now, Wendy! ER trips are so traumatic.....ooo, I think I made a pun. :teeth: :grouphug:

Riley seems to have been sleeping fine the past few nights :thumbsup2 Now all I have to do is release the anxiety so I can sleep well! :cloud9: I thought I'd released my feelings of being "in control" many years ago

BTW... has anyone heard from House of Princesses lately? I've been missing our chat nights due to Tuesday night meetings, and will miss this week too due to a Jr. HS Parent Orientation Meeting that night.

:welcome: JEnnifer It is always exciting to see how big our group is growing.
Wendy How scary for your family. I am glad he is feeling better. My childern both had bouts with croup when they we little. Really scary. I remember being told to bring them outside into the night air, which made no sense but worked.
I hope everyone else is doing well. we seem to be really quite lately.

Hello. How is everyone today? Just attempted my Pre-Cruise running workout. However, I didn't really seem to have it in me today, so after 20 minutes, I put my butt back in the computer chair to avoid doing anymore....

Anyway, any ideas of what my boys (who will be turing 6 onboard and 8) should wear on formal and semi formal nights? I've never put them in a suit before. I like them to look nice but until now have used pretty polo shirts or sweaters depending on the season. However, if I am going to wear a fancy gown, I guess I'll need to step it up for them too? I'll need to get it this summer since by Fall all the stores will have is heavy, wintry stuff.

Or is this a night a lot of parents let the kiddies go to the Clubs for dinner?

We dressed out boys in short sleeve button up shirts and khaki pants for semi and formal nights. DH wore a suit and I wore a somewhat casual long dress, so it looked great for photos. We dressed up more for Palo, so that night our kids ate in the Dining Room with out us (at our the request of our servers). The boys loved being "little adults" on their own at dinner (of course they were 11, 9, and 5 years old - not something I would try with 6 & 8 year olds). :goodvibes

If it were my family I'd have them dress up for one night (semi or formal) and let them do dinner in the club on the other night. My younger sons both loved eating in the club (5 year old wanted to do it every day, but we forced him to eat with the family for a majority of the nights). My oldest son did not appreciate being treated so young when he ate with the kids from the lab.

Wendy,

Thanks for the input on the kids' outfits. Good idea about letting them eat i the club one of the formal nights. I had considered that. Ds#1 (now 7) LOVES to see mom look 'fancy' and I think he would want to see the dresses, etc. Maybe I will take them semi-formal night and Dh and I can have a nice, adult dinner Formal night.

I'll have to keep my eyes open this summer for nice looking boys' 'resort wear.'

Jennifer

I am so excited that they have released the 2007 Med Cruises. I hope I can get on board. I even like the poc. I am very excited and hope that DH will be as well. Anyone else see this?

Yep, I've been checking out all the Magic Med cruise threads. ::yes:: Not that I'd be DOING one, but love all the DISers excitement. 2007 is the year big sis and I are talking about Italy (2008 Scotland with little sis). So unless there's a windfall in my family I probably won't be cruising again for a while. My dream cruise would be the eastern Med/Agean...Greek Isles, Venice, Debrovnic....and a safe and peaceful world to do it in too! OR the Hawaiian Islands :thumbsup2

Hey Michelle, I got the pictures! Thanks! LOL, that one shot looks like I was trying not to drool...but the other is a good one of both of us ::yes:: Maybe we should post it here before our cruise so the rest of the double-dippers can recognize us.

I'd love to do the MEd cruises too, but it won't be happening. We are planning to go to Europe next year as well (Germany, Austria, Switzerland.) Dh is not a Disney fan by ant standard. He only indulges me sometimes, and I know that Disney is not the way he wants to see Europe again. (I'd LOVE it though!) Dh and I both lived in Germany a while when we were younger and have looked forward to taking the boys.

I hate to be a complainer, but just as the cruisers felt left out last summer, I am sad that there is no chance of a 7 day in Summer 07. I really wanted to do the Eastern next and as the kids are getting older, it is hard to take them out of school for a week.

I keep hoping DCL will get smart and offer a 3 day, then 4 day then a 7 day on the wonder and rotate every other week. Wonder why they don't do this? Maybe they make the most money on the Land and Seas over the summer?

You know, you're probably right about that! And I'm sure there are people who will do a 3/4 day back-go-back on the Wonder just because they want to be on the ship and don't care about the ports. But you still wouldn't get some of the 'events' that you get on a 7 day...although there would be two CC stops and two pirate night parties. ::yes::
