I agree with Hannosmom
Basic plan get on the ship!! That being said I am with out a doubt part of the OCPD. Planning is my life!! But sometimes the funny thing is we never seem to stick to the plan. I just enjoy reading about anything Disney so the pre-trip planning is always so much fun. When we went on the Wonder I had pages and pages of must do things.. Did not get to half of them.. But I was never disappointed, just had fun doing other things. I will say I would be really upset if they changed itineraries and we were no longer double dipping!!!!I could totaly accept if we could not port do to weather, but would be really upset if we just changed plans. I really do not care about what other ports we go to. Nassau really stunk IMHO but I would just enjoy another day on the ship.

Welcome  :welcome:
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Yesterday was Angelina's 8th Birthday :bday: . We had a super amazing day. Even though she is sick we went over to Disney. We started the day a MK and saw her all time favorite CM Scoop Sanderson. She just loves that man. We went to his 1:00 pin talk and he gave her a beautiful Jumbo cinderella pin. She is so funny when she sees him. We were in the front row and all she wanted was to be able to hold his hand so for most of his talk he did it from along side her .He really made her day.For those of you who don't know who Scoop is, He is the main street news reporter at MK. He does a pin talk and knows anything you want to know about pins. After that we went over to EPCOT. We have become friendly with somany CMs the day was like a big party. We finished off the day in the Land. We rode soaring(One of Angies favorite rides) . We had dinner at the Garden Grill. It was wonderful. A few CMs that have been special freinds to Angelina were able to meet us there. One is a special freind of Chip and made her birthday extra special.Almost forgot. They now have a character greeting place at EPCOT, character connection. We went in to see MICKEY. Well the magic took over and while we were visiting with Chip and Dale ,Dale ran off and collected all of his friends. We had Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donlad ,Chip and Dale and a bunch of CMs come over to sing Happy Birthday and to take a special Birhtday picture. It was really hard to not cry. It is amazing that CM's take the time to make such magical things happen. They have brought so much joy to her life and alway make me realize that we did the right thing moving her close to the Happiest place on earth!!
IT was a really great day filled with pixiedust:

Michelle, It sounds wonderful and I am truly happy for you DD. I am all about creating memories.

Well it is snowing here and I am now, more than ever ready for this cruise. I watched the Wonder sail last night and was so excited. I wish I was doing a 3 or 4 day now! I know, I know, I will be patient.

Hope everyone has a good day and better weather than we are having.

Sounds like a fabulous day Michelle....wish I was there with you!

What happened last night? Chichihoney sent me an invite, when I got off the phone at 1024 no one was there. Maybe next week.

Count us in too. It's me and DH, and DS will be 12 and DD will be 9. This will be our second cruise on the Magic--our last was 11/05/05, on a modified Western that went to Costa Maya instead of Cozumel. That turned out to be our favorite port. We did the Chacchoben Ruins tour with Dave and Ivan, which was amazing if you can book it now. LMK if I can tell you anything about Costa Maya. We're looking forward to this cruise!

Welcome. :welcome: My Ds will be 11 when we cruise and my DD will be 8. I am glad to hear that your family really enjoyed Costa Maya . Did you have any beach time at CM? If so which beach?
I hope everyone else is doing well.

It was just Sarah and I last night....looks like you 'checked-in' right when we stopped!

I'll be back to post more later.....must get caught up at work, cause I'm out tomorrow for an outpatient visit to the hospital. YIKES!

We've had some really busy Tuesday nights lately (and for the next couple too). Tons going on! Hope everyone is doing well.

Welcome Michelle 9343 and the new cruisers. We are going to have a GREAT time no matter where we port 'cause we're the double scoop troop!!! As long as they keep the double CC, I'm happy. I am beginning to think the MAIN excursion I'm interested in is the SPA on the SHIP, though a few marguerittas and a water slide at the ports sound pretty good!!!!!

Hey Michelle9343, where is the new greeting area in EPCOT? Glad they set up some, I usually depend on the Norway breakfast to get photos of the princesses, so I am happy to see new spots for character meets.
Looking forward to meeting most of YOU characters too!!! I took the first cruise by myself and missed out on alot of the late night activities - looking forward to meeting alot of you and participating in the activities and games at the clubs. Anybody fill me in on what there is to do at night besides the Pirate party?

As far as the night time activities... we loved the shows, the family spy party and family dance party were fun. We also went to the 80s night and 70s night parties and danced. The kids liked having a movie to go to if they did not want to participate in their scheduled activities in the lab. One thing for sure... we never ran out of options for fun things to do!

We are starting to look into places to stay the night before the cruise. We've heard pros and cons about the radisson. We'll have a rental car, so parking during the cruise is of no concern (we'll just return the rental on Sat AM as part of the trip to the port). We're looking into the new Residence Inn (cheaper than the Radisson). Anyone seen the progress on it yet? I know my boys would love the pool at the Radisson, so it's hard to decide. :scratchin

I'm not real good and figuring out when all this stuff takes place - I think I missed alot on my first cruise because I just didn't know when things were happening. Do you know ahead of time what things are going on. I mean before your set sail - so you can plan your evenings or do you just monitor the Navigator and plan your night based on them? Are the 80 and 70 parties a dress-up kinda thing like the pirate party? I really want to know more about what to do on the ship when we leave ports because I really feel like I missed alot.
I didn't even know that we were scheduled breakfasts - I ate at the buffet every morning.

We follow the daily navigator. Actually, we all look at it in the evening before bed, and highlight things we might be interested in. The kids do this with their navigator too.

As for the 70s and 80s parties... not a dress up thing, but rather an adult party in one of the bars. They play music from each of these eras, CMs dress up in costumes and get the party started, contests using audience members, very fun! There is a 60s night too, but we didn't go to it.

Regarding breakfasts... the only scheduled one is your character breakfast which is in Parrot Cay the morning after you first dinner in AP. The servers told us about it a dinner on our first night (which just so happened to be our first night eating dinner in AP).

Don't worry too much about planning stuff. As long as you are enjoying yourself it is a successful vacation in my opinion!

I know the feeling....I feel like I missed out on a lot in December. I'm determined that this year I won't. I was looking over my Navigators just the other night to refresh on some of those "do not want to miss things" that I missed. I am hoping that maybe one of the upcoming Double Dip people sailing before us might be nice enough to post some of the activities so there might be a little "heads up" for us complusive planners. :thumbsup2

OMG - I was just jumping around the DisBoards and posted some photos from my other trips and cruise. Then I happened upon the Disboard, Trip Planning and Disney Resturuant forum and SAW photos of favorite dishes from Disney. Saw several great photos of dinner and dessert platters from Palo - I can see now I have a reservation to make - that lobster tail looks GREAT. So, my quesiton to everyone is, what is your favorite dish to order at Palos and has anyone eaten there more than 1 night on the cruise....I could go for a double dip, ha.

IamAnniM, I suggest you read a mess of trip reports (even ones on the Wonder) to get an idea of all the 'stuff' there is to do on the ship ::yes:: There is also a 'sticky' at the top of this forum with links to recent navigators.

And, yes, there is a sit down breakfast and lunch every day in selected restaurants. On my 4 day wonder, for example, one day breakfast was available at Parrot Cay 8a-11a as well as Tritons 8A-9:30a. Lunch was 12n-130p in one restaurant. There's also Danish and pastries at the deck 9 beverage station about 630-730a, for the early risers ::yes::

We (the double scoop troop) will probably be arranging a lunchtime DIS meet at whatever restaurant serves lunch on Thu (sea day) to celebrate all the birthdays, anniversarys etc for the crowd and to hear how everyone's cruise is going. Details to be arranged at a MUCH later date.

My favorite Palo dish was the Salmon! It was GREAT (I even took a photo to remember how pretty is looked before it was devoured)! :rotfl:

Jackie - My bday is 10 days prior to our cruise, but it had nothing to do with why or when we are cruising. We also have a child in our group who turns into a teen the day after the cruise is over (not that's a real scary one)!

Wendy, my birthday is the 7th, but my OFFICIAL DCL celebratoin will be on the 13th (the date was picked by my TA, the lovely and talented Kim)...the day I'll be shooting for a Palo brunch reservation.::yes::

Favorite Palo dish.....well chocolte souffle, of course!

when i went to palo i ordered lobster - it was the best ever - the only problem with it was it was too big!! never in my life have i not been able to finish a lobster tail! i was a bit ashamed and hid it under the shell!! of course - the fact that the waiter kept bringing us extra's to try didnt help either!!
