Okay, need you sweet people to weigh in with opinions...
booked my room last December. Specifically went with midship (motion sickness) and starboard (view). Got a room with a TERRIBLE (1) stateroom report. Could not get another 6 all year (according to DU) that wasn't a connecting, which DH didn't want. I've fretted about it all year.
Now, there are 8 each Cat 4,5,6s left. Cat. 4 are $840 to upgrade now--not gonna happen (as much as I would love the little extra room.) There is now a Cat 6 open midship, starboard available I could switch to, but my DU agents thinks I'm not better off due to it being right at the stairs/elevator. Can change to a Cat. 5 for $200 that is aft/starboard--looks to be decent location. However, there is no change in room size for the money--strictly deck. If I change, I will have to change all the distag bag stuff (don't lose me!! i want my tag bags!!) and all my little notes on photo mats for sigs and magnets, etc etc. Have to change birthday celebration I ordered, etc.
So, what to do? what to do? Is it worth it for peace of mind? What if I make things worse? What if I move from a verandah where nobody smokes next door to chain smokers on the verandah???!! Aaack!!
Y'all weigh in please. I need to do something soon. Anybody been in a 5 & 6? Is deck 7 better than six? Are stairs/elevators a noise problem?
I would LOVE to hear what y'all have to say. Please!!
Boy this is a tuff one.... I would most likely stay put myself. I have read a lot of reports and think that what barthers someone might not really be a problem for you. If it was still a "noisey" room knowing that our cruise isn't fully booked I am sure Disney would relocate you. On our last cruise we met a family that was "unhappy" with the room they had (cat12) Disney moved them (upgraded) they still weren't happy so Disney moved then again to a Cat 6. I was amazed. Their gripe was really small but again we were sailing on a cruise that wasn't saold out.
Now if you are going to really worry all week and you need peace of mind then I would switch. Hope this helps not adds to your confusion.

Good afternoon fellow cruisers
I bet we will break 5500 today!!!!!
I am packing away and just took a break to say hello!!!!
One week from now I will be enjoying my first meal on the Magic!! Boy I can't wait!!!!!!! :sunny:

My dad used to eat fried bologna sandwiches all the time... never could understand it. Did I mention that most of my extended family came from Arkansas? Yep, migrated to Bakersfield during the Dust Bowl. Once I learned this it explained SO much! I've never heard of most of these foods you all are craving- I grew up on corn bread, pinto beans, and collard greens. So, I've got to say... some of the NJ foods are starting to sound pretty good!

Spotdude- what class is your wife having to drop?

Wendy! My favorite meal (corn bread, pinto beans, and collard greens). Did I tell you my dad is from Arkansas and my parents live there now. We might be cousins. :rotfl:

Glad you mentioned the tag bag stuff. Some have mentioned putting names on the bag. Is that something to do. Just want a confirmation on this so I can finish up on this today. Thanks

ARGHHH! I'm trying to figure out how to post my door sign so I can show all of you but I can't figure out how. I did it in powerpoint, but I also took a picture of it once it was done so I have a jpg image as well. Can anyone help me?

thanks, Tracey

O.K. I figured it out. here's a link to a photo of the sign I made this morning. I'm so happy with how it turned out. Forgive the crooked photography.

Major cleaning and house chores going on here today (good thing I have manual labor... I mean kids... to help out)! :thumbsup2 DH comes home from China in 2 days, we leave in 5! Must clean the house and buy more dog food before we leave - have to have things ready for the house sitter! So... what am I doing :surfweb: (well, change the picture to a laptop, and the beverage to a diet pepsi). To all of those out doing last minute shopping, have a fun day! For me, that's always when you find the best stuff :woohoo:

ME THREE- I met Jackie for breakfast then she ran off to do her last minute shopping chores and I came home and pulled down curtains in master bedroom, washed them, stripped the bed and moved all the furniture and dusted and cleaned behind everything - found a new hidding place (:cat: ) behind and UNDER the armour! Cat hair everywhere, but NO MORE!!!! Then finished the steam cleaning for the carpet, I'll hit the guest room Mon/Wed night and be done with my fall cleaning.

It's in the air!!! :laundy: must finish that part - but I wanted a water break and to check in. Hope everyone is having a great Saturday afternoon - it's beautiful here weather wise, 80 sunny with a slight breeze!!!!

Checked out Taylor Ham. :) Reminds me of fried bologna. It's a southern thing...we used to call them bologna hats, because of the way they pooched up in the middle when fried. Fried bologna sandwich, yum. Haven't had one of those since I was a kid. It probably isn't as good as I remember.

Your brother lives right up the road from me, (thats southern for nearby, within a 50 mile radius :teeth: ) we live in Poquoson.

That's too wild, my best friend's mother (my mom's best friend) always gave us fried bologna and we ate it with toothpicks - a fond memory indeed! Thanks for that Linda!

That is so cute - I'll be finished up door signs this week at work. My favorite is the one of Capt Jack - a photo of him and our names saying we'll be out scouting for him!!!

Hopefully we can get a real live photo of the CM! Keep your fingers crossed for us.

David - looking forward to meeting you NEXT WEEK!!!!

I'M SO EXCITED I COULD SPIT!

Hopefully you'll be back on to add to the numbers right? We did hit 5400 by Sunday wasn't that one of the goals? See - I can't keep too many goals straight in my head. I'm re- thinking luggage options today - I think Jackie's right - we need BIGGER luggage!!! I could just bring two 22" roll-ons (checking them though) instead of one and the duffle on rollers... I am putting off the packing for now, my dogs will go into tail spins if they see me packing!!! Poor babies - :dog: :dog2: :cat: gonna miss the "kids"... *oh and the DH!!!! He's really excited about some peace and quiet - (please refrain from comments)... but I bet about day 2 he'll be leaving me messages day and night... we have one of those (absence makes the heart grow fonder deals). But I was surprised he wanted to have dinner together all three of us (Jackie, me and DH) so we could tell him all about it - I think that's a good sign. He was very dis- interested in the concept of cruising - ya think with all this Dis'ing and meeting and talk he's finally getting to the point of DOING it? YIPEE if that's the case. This might just have been the best thing I could do.

Ok - back to house work!

I couldn't even find these on Crayolas web site. Sorry--was hoping I could run them down for y'all. Thought maybe they were an old product, but that wouldn't be the case if they had them for Cars. Dunno...
the other Melanie

Here's a picture of what they look like. Sorry the photo is so bright, we're having camera trouble.....I know good timing isn't it.

While were at WDW after the cruise, we're meeting friends from the Ozarks. And you never know... my family is BIG, we could be cousins.

Peggy I should have you making my signs! I tried to make a pirate one, but the font just doesn't look bright enought compared to the color of the background photo. I've tried 2 different POTC movie photos, and tried to add red writing over it. It looks fine on the computer, but when I print it out, the font just blends into the photo too much. ARGHHH! pirate:

Well, off to run some errands with the boys. I went this morning and had the normal highlights returned to my hair, now it is time for coinstar, some groceries, and more cleaning!

Wendy Jersey,

I am putting our dis name with a little note about the contents in the bag.

But now I have a question, got all bag tag goodies on the living room floor all ready to put into something. Does anyone have any good ideas. I know we got to hand them on the fish hook. Any help would be appreciated.

TTFN
David

So, who all has kin in Arkansas.....seems like there are several of us....
