November 11, 2006 - MAGIC - Special Western "Double Dip" Cruise 11/11/06

My itinerary says we arrive at Port Canaveral at approx. 7:35 am on the 18th. Our flight doesn't leave MCO until the afternoon. Does anyone know how long you can stay on the boat or if there's anything to do at port?

Thanks

I just ordered it. I hope she likes it.

I was hoping that Disney could have given it to me at Palos on Sat. night, and I could give it to her then, but they couldn't do it. The sales girl asked the manager and he said that it comes from an outside company who goes into our room and then has to leave the ship.

I'm going to try and sneak away from my wife once we are on board and try to find our rood steward and ask if he could grab it an give it to me. Then I'll have to hide it for a few hours. If not, at least she'll be suprised when we go to the cabin to unpack.

Thanks to all for your help!

P.S. Am I post #5000? :rotfl2:

You disembark according to your dinner seating time, but everyone is pretty much off the ship by 9:30-ish. There is nothing to do at the port per se . . . I'm not sure what there is to do around town, other than the very cool Kennedy Space Center.

Okay... I need some help from the FL natives (heck, from the WDW addicts as well). I am looking for a place to meet for dinner after the cruise (on the 19th) that will accept a reservation for 16 people (8 adults and 8 kids). Some of us will be coming from the Magic Kingdom to meet up for dinner, and some will be driving in from Kennedy Space Center (so it can't be inside one of the parks). We were thinking Downtown Disney, and tried Rainforest Cafe. Rainforest does not have tables that large, and will not guarantee that we will all even be seated in the same portion of the dining room. Any suggestion??? :confused3

Good Morning everyone,

The travel company we booked our trip through has been awful so far and I'm worried that if the travel documents go to them first we may never receive them. What is in the package? I will start pestering them next week as we leave on the 8th but I'm just wondering what the pkg contains?

Thanks,

Tracey

If I were you I would start pestering them now. Waiting is not always a good thing.

Good Morning everyone
Boy you were a chatty bunch last night!

Congrats!! Plaese post a picture when you get a chance. I can not imagine how proud you feel.
Thanks to all that wished Angie well. I needed to keep her away from food and drink ALL day so I figures why not get in the car and take a ride to see the WONDER! It was a real distraction because no matter what when you see her in all her beauty you have to feel good. We took a quick look around Ron jon surf shop and drove back to Orlando. The Childerns hospital really Pi--ed me off. We had to be there at 1:30 and they did not take her in untill 3:00 . I feel that is cruel and unusal punishment. Angelina is mentally age equivelent of a 1 year old so they is no way to rationalize with her. It really breaks you heart to watch you childern suffer. I did make DH stay with us while they sedated her. I have been though is so many times with her but no matter how many times you see it watching you child be sedated never get easier. Now that she is a big girl she really fights it and coming out of it is a huge challenge. Now the really hard part happens. The waiting to hear what they have to say. They took a ton of blood and urine to run a lot of test so I am sure it will take weeks to find some of the results. Thank God of this CRUISE!!
Thanks for all thats have sent me well wishes. It means more then you can ever imagine.
Back to planning. But the why I got our Doc's yesterday . That was a real moral booster.

My thoughts are with you hoping for good results. It is a shame that you had to wait especially knowing that Angelina couldn't eat or drink.

Remember, I'm from Jersey, so 11:30 is late for me. I have to get up in the morning and go to work to pay for this cruise.
Awe Jack I'm from Jersey and I bet older than you and 11:30 is really early. Late is when I go to be at 3AM and I know the alarm goes off at 5:30AM. I go to work and have to use my brain all day. Sometimes around 2PM I feel it, but by 2:30PM I'm ready to go again. It's all in the brain, all in the brain my friend..... :rolleyes1

I can't find the post where someone asked for the address to ship things ahead. Has anyone here done this? What types of things will they accept ahead of time. My DS doesn't drink dairy so I was planning on hauling tetra paks of almond milk, soy puddings etc. in my suitcase. If I could send this stuff ahead it would be so helpful.

Also, like the other poster, I can't find the info on where exactly to ship things.

Thanks

But I have and even on less sleep than that. Sometime you got to do what you got to do to survive. :sad2:

This may be very helpful if we are going to be doing any exchanges or making anything to hand out to each other.

Here's how to ship items to the IDS warehouse who will deliver it to the ship for your DCL cruise:
......
You can send your packages as early as you want and by any carrier you prefer. All you have to do is pay the shipping costs to get it to the warehouse and they do the rest...free.

Address the packages to:
IDS
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920
phone - 321-799-9100

pkg must arrive by 5:00 PM on Fri. for Sat and Sun sailings
Pkg must arrive by 11:00 AM on Thursday for Thursday sailings

You must have your name/stateroom#/ship name on the outside of the pkg.

At the bottom left corner of the package put the following information:

STATEROOM #: (GTY if you don't know your # when you mail package)
PASSENGER NAME: (Name of passenger on reservation)
VESSEL: MAGIC or WONDER
DATE of SAIL:
NUMBER of BOX: (1 of 3, 2 of 3, and so forth)
The boxes will magically appear in your stateroom before you arrive, or soon after.
Kelly at the IDS warehouse was very helpful.

One thing I found was that alcoholic beverages cannot be shipped legally to Florida from all states....

Thanks to Dee this was posted at 1937 hope it is helpful

read through some VERY old posts ( some of you have been at this a LONG time) and you really do deserve a drink!!!! There were alot of other people on that seemed to have dropped out for various reasons so those of you that have hung in here since the beginning of this thread more power to you and thanks for working so hard to make everyone feel welcome ! :cool1:

That's not what I'd call survival...I'd call that a death sentence. Isn't it funny how some people don't require as much sleep - my DH is like that sleeps 1/2 the time I do. I think I just go harder during the day - he's very laid back. I'm full speed ahead when I'm vertical (not snide comments from the peanut gallery on this ...) then I just CRASH and burn. Slow to wake up too - he's awake and alert the moment his eyes open. Not me! :surfweb: :flower3:

Won't be long now - we'll be :beach: :drive: :dancer: popcorn::  :cheer2: :grouphug: :coffee: :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 yes I know...many more drinking...

If it were me I would try one of the Disney Hotel Restaurants like O'Hanas at the Polynesian, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, Artist Point or Wispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge or any of the others that may appeal to you.
