I better kick up the work-outs a notch!!!!! YIPEEE~!!!!!

does anyone know if the New DD Navigators are out yet? I am really looking forward to checking them out and comparing them with the first DD

I have the link to the first double scoop navs, but I can't seem to print them without cutting off the right side and bottom of each page. Any advice?

Thanks!!!!

Sorry, can't help with Navigator printing question. But it does bring up an issue that came up during chat. For those of us who will be joining in on DIS activities or just want to be able to make contact with specific DISers, what do you think about a DIS-Navigator? The first DoubleDip did this and it looked like a good idea.

First of all, the info we gather for it WILL NOT be posted here or on the internet anywhere, but will be on the printed sheet being passed out on the cruise. You, of course, can determine exactly what personal information you want to share (last name or cabin number), or you may want one just to have a reminder of possible DIS activities (embarkation DIS meet, DIS celebration luncheon) or for things like contacting me if we missed connections in getting your green double-dip bracelet. I know I'd like to be able to contact the DISers who express interest in the DIS luncheon on Thursday, to send a reminder note to their stateroom.

Finally, we'd need a volunteer with with creative computer skills to create this (and I think WDWLVR from the first D-D would provide guidance).

So....whadda ya think?

I just booked Tiffany Towncar this morning for ALK to PC (11AM), so I got to cross off one item on my cruise 'To Do' list. COME ON SOUTHWEST AIRLINES.....open up those dates! Actually, I'm anticipating that to happen in the next 10 days....fingers crossed!

Well, I'm off to scrub toilets...a fun activity for a vacation day...NOT!

There are several ways to print them so the whole thing is on the page.
1. Do not click the print icon on the top of you screen. Instead click file in the upper left comer. Than print preview. On top of the new screen that pops open there is a page set up click that. Than adjust the margins to zero (they will automacitly change to there smallest amount)

The next way is how I do it. This way I can look at them on my puter and I have them saved so if something happens I don't have to reprint them. (Price of ink and waist of paper)

2. Go to the page that you want to print with your mouse (tracker ball like I have) RIGHT click and about a quarter of the way down the list of item there is a "save picture as" click that. I choose the name and location that I want it to go to (I have an extra drive that I use for pictures and songs) so I can find it later. Usually the name date and page # of the Navigator works the best for me. It takes a little time but once I have it on my puter I can do with what I will. Ok to print if you open it in the fax viewer there is a print Icon right there and that should print it right to the size of paper. (This way also does not print the first and last page that you really don't need and are a waist of paper and ink)

I like the idea, but I’m a planning super freak. I have a tentative schedule already planed.
I would be happy to help any way I can.

Very impressive!

Thank you so much!!!!! I got them to print . . . some of them are a little hard to read, but I can get the gist of them. Now while my husband is letting my kids play with sparklers tonight, I can plan our days aboard the Magic instead of fretting about all the ways they could get injured. With the sparklers, that is, not on the Magic!!!

You and me, both, sister! Even sparklers are illegal in this little part of the world. You can drive a short way to get them, but it's easier for mom to just say, "No, it's illegal!" Planning for a cruise is much more enjoyable than waiting for screams of pain! Have fun planning!! (Personally, I'm planning on the, "Just ask Jackie!" method of operation....if she doesn't mind....)

Sadly, they just made virtually ALL fireworks legal here in Indiana. I and most of the moms I know are majorly unhappy about the change. Most of the dads I know, however, are now happily living out some boyhood pyromaniac fantasy . . . . My neighbor and I have had to suspend our nightly walk because so many people are shooting off fireworks in our neighborhood that it wasn't safe!!

I'm all about the asking Jackie plan, too -- I plan to submit my plans to her in triplicate for approval. :goodvibes

Speaking of asking Jackie . . .

My family and I will be in your very hot hometown for a day (probably less than 24 hours) at the end of the month--we'll be driving from the Grand Canyon to San Diego via Sedona and Phoenix. Is there a water park or some other summer-friendly activity you would recommend, or any not-to-be-missed restaurants for kids? (Mine will be 12, almost 8, and 9.) We are currently booked at a Hilton resort that has a water park attached to it, with the thought that it'll be too hot to do anything that doesn't involve water.

Thanks!!!!!

Wow, what a differance a few days make. I have been gone only a few days and I had several pages to read through.

Jackie...I checked again today and SW still has not gotten past 10/27. They are about to drive me over the edge. :rotfl:

Are you coming to San Diego to play? Family here? (We're in northern San Diego county.) Just beating the midwest humidity would be nice...

Are you staying at the Hilton at Tapatio Cliffs on 7th Street? The one about 3 miles from my house? If so, you don't need to drag yourseves off to some water park, just enjoy your resort with it's pools and waterslide. Peg and I can mull over some dining suggestions for you. One activity that pops into mind is a visit to Jillians at nearby Desert Ridge Mall. It is a mondo-arcade-sports bar-restaurant-dance club experience. The adults can grab a booth and a beer while the kids (or kid-like adults) enjoy the bazillion arcade games all in air-conditioned comfort. There are a mess of dining options at that location also. Everything from Mimi's Cafe, They Yard House and California Pizza Kitchen, to high end Thai and Italian restaurants. All that about a 15-20 minute drive from your hotel (and very easy to get to).

Have you been to Sedona before? It is soooooo beautiful. And if you come in 'the back way' from Flagstaff (Peg is that 89?) instead of down I-17 you will have a lovely drive. You can then take I-17 the rest of the way into Phoenix.

When it's time for your trip, let me know and I'll PM you my phone #. Even if we can't steal a few minutes to meet, you can at least use me as an emergency contact if you run into any problems on this leg of your journey.

Jackie, you are awesome!

We are booked at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. However, we are totally willing to change to the other one if you think it's better. Being near a mall with restaurant options is always good.

We have a Jillians here at home, although we've never taken the kids there. Mostly because DH would spend way too much on video games! However, it will be vacation, and if you can't spend way too much on video games on vacation, then when can you?

I've been to Sedona twice--once about 13 years ago with DH (our last pre-kids vacation) and then again last fall with my best friend. I agree it is breathtakingly beautiful! The kids want to do slide rock, and I'm considering a Pink Jeep tour; my friend and I did it and loved it. It's a bit pricey for a family of five, though, so we might not do it.

Thanks!!!!!

Carolyn,

We are visiting my best friend and her family who live in San Diego. We go out there every other summer for a couple of weeks. Don't ask me where it is geographically, but I know that their kids went to Mt. Carmel High School, if that helps, and they live on Black Mountain. (YES, I've been there three times since they moved there 6 years ago, but I'm directionally challenged in a serious way!!!!!)

Yes, getting out of the midwestern humidity (and away from the mosquitos!!) is a huge plus. There is so much to do in San Diego and it is so foreign to us to be able to make outdoor plans without even considering what the weather will be like!!! Are you a native or a transplant?

Last time we spent a week in San Diego and then a week driving up to San Fran and back. This time we're spending a week in San Diego and then driving to the Grand Canyon via Las Vegas, and then back via Phoenix. The kids have never been to Arizona or Nevada and are anxious to cross them off two more states off their list!

Squaw Peak is great...may actually be better for the water activity stuff. It's a little more 'inside' Poenix (though not downtown, which is GOOD), and has pretty easy access to the highways (though not quite as good access as Tapatio). You could still get to Desert Ridge for Jillian's and food options. Hmmmmm, maybe I'd just better go take a look at them. I haven't been to Squaw Peak in some time. We have had many company functions over the years at both places and I've consumed a few cocktails and chowed down on ribs or enchiladas at both resorts. Hmmmmm, maybe I should hit The Hole in The Wall at Sqaw Peak for dinner tonight????? Purely as a fact finding mission for a fellow DISer.....has nothing to do with the ribs.....

Transplant for 18 years, last 7 here in Fallbrook. I think your friend is in the Poway area?? That's about an hour's drive from here. Your trip sounds like so much fun! How nice to have a friend in such a beautiful city to come visit! Sounds like you're set for planning here, but if you need anything, let me know....Are you going to check out Hoover Dam while you're in the Vegas area?

And, yes, isn't Jackie awesome?? Such a giver, forcing herself to check out restaurants for a fellow DISer...such commitment and sacrifice!:)
