Good morning cruisemates,

I think it's about time we checked in to this thread. We weren't entirely sure we were going to make it, but now that we are here goes!! Traveling with our group will be me, Karen, DH Jerry, DS(13), DD(9), & DGM. We are also booked with the Native Choice tour on CM day and after reading the recent trip reports about the extended tour with lunch, we think we will add that. ('m alittle worried about getting sick after eating, what do you think?)

This will be our 4th DCL cruise, 3rd western, and we are really excited and looking forward to cruising with what looks to be a really fun group!

Welcome Karen, Jerry and family! Glad you checked in and joined the party!

Jennifer, the ruins tour is at Costa Maya. You take a $3/person van into the village of Majahual (just a couple of minutes from the dock). We will all be bussed (with AC) to the ruins site (about a 50 minute ride) and then split into smaller groups. The basic tour (which is what many of us are doing) is $45. The $60something version incluses a visit with a native family after the tour for lunch. The reviews I've read say the tour with lunch lasts till about 2PM. Their web site is www.chacchobenruins.com and I'd contact them soon if you are interested.

Chankanaab Park in Cozumel is supposed to open July 1....at least the dolphin encounter area is...I'm keeping my eye on that web site for sure

Jackie...Yes, we're taking both kids on the Native Choice tour. DS LOVES history. His latest "Didja know?" facts were about the Mayan Indians. Tour will be right up his alley. Sissy's up for just about anything, especially if DS is into it!

Parasailing? I want to, but I'm a little nervous. DH will do it and we're working on DS. If you can handle another DIS outing, we can try to coordinate our schedules...

Janice...are you feeling better???

Devin...I don't know if anyone's planning a DIS meet the night before. I know some will be at WDW that Friday. We're going to be at the Radisson at the port. Not sure what everyone else is doing.

OK now....who's up for PARASAILING AT CC - SUN 11/12?
Scary... but yes, I want to do it! So does the wife of family #3 traveling with us! We may check to see if oldest DSs in each of our families can do it tandem with us. Not sure if DCL does tandem parasailing or not. And earlier in the day would be preferred by me!

The Hannos (Ed, Linda, Sarah and my sis, Debbie) and the Grayfals (Pat and Tom) will be at the airport Marriott, if anybody wants to have a mini Dismeet before the cruise.

Jackie, please add my sister, Debbie, to the list for the David and Ivan tour. We are doing the regular tour, also. Looks like the November Double Dippers are taking over this tour.

Yes, DCL does do tandem parasailing as long as combined weight does not exceed 350 pounds. I like the idea of pre-lunch also



Spent a lovely afternoon at Peg's...playing in the pool, reading on the patio, catching up on some taped shows. I hadn't seen the retrospective and final episode of Will & Grace. We also discussed an emergency visit to DISNEYLAND in two weeks! Disneyland....the dream that never dies. So gotta check on time share availability and to see if our young friend Victoria can join us (oh, her mom can come too if she wants )

We'll be in DL in two weeks too! We're going on the 23rd for the day (surprise for the kiddos). Conner turns 10 on the 20th, and Tim has to work in Fullerton on the 22nd, so the boys and I will drive down after I get off work at noon. We're planning to do all day in the parks on Friday. Will you be there then?

We'll most likely be driving over on Friday...hopefully with a noon departure so we can be there for dinner and will do the park Saturday. Everything depends on time share (and if that's not available, we will have the 'shall we spend $ on a hotel' discussion) and if we can bring our 13 year old gal pal! I'll keep you informed....hmmmmm. maybe meet for dinner at Goofy's Kitchen or Storyteller's or something?

Okay....what did we decide for brunch? 11:00 a.m.....when?

As it stands, I will be taking advantage of the 90-day excursion bookings for Palo brunch, my and Jeff's spa time and any excursion restricted to me, Jeff, Heather and Haleigh. Our 2nd cabin (Sheryl and Mike) cannot book until 75 days so I'm going to have to wait until then to see about getting any "family excursions" via DCL. Of course, I could always book our portion and then all I have to do is book theirs at the 75-day mark....that might be easier.....opinion?

Please keep me posted on what everyone else is doing...maybe we'll be able to coordinate....

So....as of today, final group is Kris 34, DDS Heather 11 & Haleigh 7 and DF Jeff 48, DD Sheryl 27 & DSIL Mike 38....let's cross fingers for no more changes!

HAS ANYONE DONE THE DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER? My DD wants to do it and I was wondering if it was worth $109.00? My Niece wants do it as well I have a friend of the family doing it though. She wants it for her B-Day. But I don’t know if it is worth 109 for a 9 year old?

DUDE! Spring for the $16 more and do the Royal Dolphin Swim at Cozumel....WAY more interactive with the dolphins (from what I've read). You have to book direct with www.dolphindiscovery.com as this isn't offered through DCL. The child rate may be a little less than $125, but I don't know the age cutoff. The web site will describe the difference between and 'encounter' and a 'swim'. If you decide to go for it, try for the 2PM time slot and join Pandamom, her DD, TiggersPal and me!

Spotdude you are asking the wrong person... I've got a DL trip planned to celebrate my DS's 10th birthday! Heck, the gas alone to drive down there will cost more than the dolphin encounter The things love will drive us to do (Love for my son that is... I know you guys were thinking love for the mouse! )

Ok, I found out that the button maker is a definite yes, so I'll be starting on those soon. Yes, I do have OCPD also, but between design, printing, cutting and making the buttons, it isn't going to be a simple project! Most of you have liked the green Mickey head with DIS name and real name. I was thinking of keeping it generic (no date) so the buttons could be used for future outings. Sound good?
