November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Since many of you haven't made it over to my pre-trip report (see signature) I decided i'd post the picture of us over here :p

This is from my wedding day. The little one is DSis, the one on the far right is Dmom, Ddad (RIP) is next to her. So yup, that's us :)

You look beautifull Buf68!!!!:goodvibes

Last night, I was talking with my husband, and he said, i'm kinda scared:scared1: And I said why:confused3 :confused3

Because, he said, you have all these great new friends you've meet on the disboard, and the speak english only....and I only speak french:headache:

SO I said, maybe one of them will speak french a little bit....other wise I will translate my darling:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Awwww....not a stitch of English at all? All I can manage is Bon Jour!

For those of you that cruise this same time last year, what percentage of warm clothes did you wear. Not that the weather will be the same, I just figure I could use it as a quide. I only pack 2 pairs of pants and 2 capris. Trying to determine if this is enough.

Is the game as big of a deal there as it is here? This entire city is a sea of Colts blue. Half of the congregation at church this morning were wearing Colts jerseys. I think this game has been hyped here almost as much as the Super Bowl was!!!

Yes, the game here is a big deal also.

None at all. We had our jackets and jeans that we wore on the plane, and I had packed a long-sleeved shirt for everyone, but we didn't use them at all. The only time I was chilly was in the theater; a light sweater would've been nice in there, but I just snuggled closer to DH. I was not chilly on deck at night, and we sat out on our balcony most nights.

We went the same week last year, but that was a Western, and this is an Eastern, which I have never done before. The weather was great, except for a little rain on Thursday. The only chilly places were inside in the air conditioning. Outside was always nice, and I'm someone who's usually cold.

So is everyone else thinking, "exactly one week from now, I will be doing _______."? I know we enjoyed our brunch at Palo this morning :rotfl: . My kids can't wait to get on the ship. Even DH is looking forwards to it.

Does anyone else have kids who will be in the stack? My DS is curious, and it seems like most of you have much younger ones. Does that make me old:confused3 ?

Well, low and behold the other family we are traveling with has a fluent French speaking wife! In fact, you are not going to believe this, but we just got back from France less than a month ago! We were a group of 22 people (couples only) who went road biking through Southern France (Provance to be exact) and Paris..........we were gone for 15 days; left the kids with grandparents! So fun! But now, it's family time and I feel like we owe this one to the kids after that last vacation!

If we meet up with you, you have GOT TO ask me to go find Cindy! She speaks fluent French and is a hoot!;)

My DD is 15. I'm hoping she will hang out sometimes at the stack. But not too much. She is my travel companion. If she does hang out in the stack I'll end up with too much alone time. Some alone time is good. Last year she didn't hit it off with anyone. Who knows what will happen this year.

This daylight savings is screwing me up. I feel like this is the longest day ever!!!!

Plus, my baby, DS (5 months) just got put on antibiotics and eardrops for a rupture due to an ear infection that the doctor somehow missed. But, he should be fine to fly on Friday. Thank goodness.

Only 5 more sleeps! :cool1:

:cheer2: Me (34) :woohoo: DH (34)
princess: DD (7) pirate: DS (3) DS (5 months)

Je parles un peu de Francais, mais comprende plus!

Seriously, my french is way rusty, but I speak enough Spanish and French to get by - it's just that I haven't had much cause to use it in the past 20 years!

Still, I get your nervousness.
DH is still not sure about this whole "meet the other DISers" thing. He's less inclined toward that than I. :goodvibes

Nope - it means you had kids earlier than some of us! lol...

Seriously, I'm old enough technically to be my DD's grandmother. I have a dear friend the same age as I whose oldest daughter will turn 22 when mine turns 5 - and she was 19 when she had her.
(Simplifying the math for those trying to do it -- that means I'm 41 with a 4 1/2 year old!)

ok guys, i'm really sad. Dmom decided she'd pay for the extreme getaway excursion on CC for me and DH, but there's only one "seat" left in each time slot left...(ie no where DH AND i can fit in *sigh*)

So what do you think is the likelyhood I can get this once on board. I really want it :(
