November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Sorry to hear about it Linda. Maybe a few stiff drinks and some good chocolate souffle will make you forget about the problems for a little while. How did you dd get hurt? :grouphug:

Oh how and can't wait for that stiff drink and all of the fru fru drinks too.

DD cut her toe on something at Gymnastics. They have not been able to figure out where she did it. She goes back tomorrow for the first time and she is going to try and point out where it happened. She is kind of afraid to go back.

Hi Linda,

Sorry to hear about Alex, hope she is ok. Amanda is looking foward to meeting her (and the other children she has been emailing):dance3: . Hopefully the kids can meet up on the first day. If it is nice I figure we will be by the pool after lunch.

I also haven't started doing anything yet. In the past month we had three weddings to attend:eek: . The last one is this weekend so hopefuly after this weekend I can start packing and shopping.:laundy:

We need to pick an alternate spot to get the kids together if the weather is nasty. We should pick something to wear in the terminal to start to identify each other. I know some have suggested mardi gras beads. We did green leis on my last cruise. I still have mine but I don't know how easy that would be for everyone else to find. Someone also brought name tags the pin on to lanyards, if I see some then I will pick them up.

ok Ladies, I have a question for you:

What does your dress for the formal night (captain gala) looks like???

If you have picture I would love to see it:goodvibes

I have a dress that I bought this summer, but now, I saw an other one that I really really like more, but I don't know if I should buy it......:rolleyes1

Please let me see yours!!!!!!!!!;)

I am pooh sized so I rarely find dresses that fit me that I would actually wear. I will probably wear dress pants and a fancy beaded top. I will check Lord & Taylor for any sales but that is the most likely. I am also trying not to spend as much getting ready for this cruise. I am going to try to really pair down my packing and work towards a more relaxed cruise this time. That is why I haven't sighned up for the dis-tag, my last few cruises I spent so much time worrying about everything that I commited to that I was stressing myself out. I do need to try to order another bathing suit - I guess I better do that soon!

Linda

On our last cruises, we met at Promenade Lounge.

We should pick something to wear in the terminal to start to identify each other. I know some have suggested mardi gras beads. We did green leis on my last cruise.
I believe we could wear any of the these:
Mardi Gras beads,
green leis,
lime green t-shirts,
lime green wrist bands, or
name tags.

Any of the above is enough to identify someone is with our group.

Any morning walkers out there?

On past cruises, we met on sea days for an early morning walk on the Deck 4 promenade. It's an easy way to get in some exercise (while other family members slept), and helped reduce the guilt at mealtime.

Those who have done this before know that the morning sky can be breathtaking.

Any takers?

Woody

Good evening everyone! Well it's official. I got a Bon Voyage card from my travel agent today. We must really be going on this cruise soon.

Anyone get their paperwork yet? Last time I used AAA, and we were among the last to get our documents. We used them again for the extra OBC, but are expecting our package late again this year.

I haven't picked out my dress yet. I have about 3 or 4 gowns that I rotate through--all floor length. I will wear the Bar Mitzvah outfit for semi-formal night, and the night we go to Palo.

Woody--I still liked those lime green bracelets we had last year. If time wasn't what it was this year, I would have ordered them for our cruise. I even wore it with my formal wear :) .

It sounds like we're just going with some lime green as a way of recognizing each other. Lots of people were wearing lime green shirts in the past, as it's somewhat popular now.

I second a suggestion for a meet in the Promenade Lounge, especially in bad weather, but we certainly won't have any of that this trip.

 I'd be interested. I tried to do it every day last year, but I run too. I love being around the ship when everyone else is still sleeping (and I am so NOT a morning person at home).

Lauri, We are practically next door. In rooms 1068 & 1066. How old are your kids. I take it one is 13 since he just got Bar Mitzvahed. My oldest is 10 and should be getting a Bar Mitzvah date this year. They get them early here.

As for dresses. I purchased a nice long dress over the summer but just returned it. It was too long and didn't want to be tripping over it all night. I'll have to look for something else now.

The lime green wristbands are so easy to wear and identify, and they go with everything! From swim wear to formal wear. We met some very nice people at Serenity Bay wearing wristbands -- it was an easy way to identify people in our group.

At this stage, I believe that any of the items mentioned would identify our group. I'll be wearing green Mardi Gras beads.

On Embarkation Day, if the weather is nice, there are several families with kids who want to use the pool. So the adults can meet there too at 3:00, before the 4:00 boat drill.

If the weather is not what we "ordered," we will meet at Promenade Lounge instead.

Where would one acquire such lime-green wristbands?? :)

Yndy,

Love this!

We would love one with our room number on it. We are in the Roy Suite, I think it's 8230, it's late and I can't think right now!

Thanks!

Karen, wife of been2marceline

Just now saw this Karen!
I'll get it to you tomorrow! (I'm up way past my bedtime again... can't sleep! too excited! :))

But will have it to you ASAP... So neat about the Roy Suite again - you guys are going to have such a grand time!!

I will be wearing the Mardi Gras beads! My daughter has a bunch. There is only one green one and it isn't lime green, but I think you will reconize me since I doubt to many other people (except disers) will be wearing beads.

I may be interested. I am a walker, but I also like to sleep in when I can. With that being said though my sleeping in is waking up very early for a lot of people. I think it would depend on the time and how late I stay up the night before. On the last cruise I walked whenever I had some free time. I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed it since I always said I wouldn't excersie on vacation. I listened to my music and people watched.:)

Good morning people!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

As I can see there's been lot of activities last night on this board!!!;)

Woody, tell me how early is the walk in the morning? My DH and I might be interested!:goodvibes

As for the green-lime bracelet, don't think I have one here, but I'll try to find something that is that color!!! Maybe a ribbon to put on my purse!

As for the dress..............:sad1: Bad news, I ordered it online yesterday and it said that it would be delaid..........until November 12th.....:lmao: :lmao: So I said to bad, I will be long gone by then!!!!!!:cool1:

So I need to go back to shopping again this week-end......:rolleyes1

Same situation with me my friend!!! Pooh size me too!!! That's why I was so glad I found that dress, but now, its a different story....

I will still keep looking because we never know!

Good luck to you Linda finding that special dress:goodvibes

I will be using the club in the early AM hopefully without waking anyone. I am a morning person!
